OK, I want to type this up before I forget and totally wuss out...

I really dislike it when people I don't even know judge me by my reading habits. I had mentioned on Twitter about how I wanted to read Hoshi wa Utau on OneManga before the site got shut down. Someone then comes along and "suggests" I ask one of the English publishers to license it so I wouldn't have to be a "thief." I replied back that I make every effort to support the English releases of the series that I like regardless of where I read them first. They didn't have to get all judgmental and self righteous about it, especially since they know nothing of my reading choices.

Furthermore, I would LOVE one of the English companies to license the series. It would be that much easier to find. Plus, since my friend [personal profile] umadoshi is in the English manga adaptation biz, I want more work to come her way in the near future for as long as possible.

There are a number of series I discovered through this site that I ultimately ended up purchasing the English version wherever I could find it. Even if I read the latest chapters, I still buy the volumes they are later complied in in case I want to reread them... which I often do.

True, the system can and has been abused, but to call me a thief with no justification kinda irks me to no end. I really don't appreciate it.

snapdragon76: Did I mention that I like reading? (books)
Went to the doctor today. Basically he told me I was fat (which I don't think I am. Soft, yes a bit, but not FAT). OK, he didn't specifically say FAT, but that was the undertone. He's very anal about stuff like that though. Of course, all of this is coming from a man who weighs 90lbs soaking wet. OK, I exaggerate, not that thin. But he is pretty slender. Which, you know good for him. It's his build. It's not mine however.

I'm to a point where I'm happy with myself, so that's all that really matters. Although he did say something about not listening to our bodies when it says it's hungry. That doesn't make sense though. I mean, aren't you SUPPOSED to eat when you're hungry? I don't mean like constant hunger, but when it's supposed to be hungry. I eat three meals a day and a snack here and there throughout the day so I don't feel ravenous when it does come time to eat. But it's usually like a couple of crackers or a granola bar or something along those lines.

Annnnd, I've gone on for far too long about this, haven't I?

Mom is still at home recovering from her stint in the hospital. The doctor gave her an extra week off of work, which is good since she got wiped just going to the mailbox today. So I told her not to overdo it any while she was at home.

Got new tires on my car on Saturday. Hopefully this will be the end of the car related crises for a loooooong while.

I caught up on some of my books at long last. Bought the latest volume of High School Debut. Still an adorable series. Only two more to go I think...

Just started reading a new series, Papilion Hana to Chou by Miwa Ueda. It looks very cute so far and I look forward to what happens next!

Took some pictures of the Woodie that was parked next to us in the parking lot at the grocery store over the weekend. It looks pretty bitchin'!

Went to see The Hangover also with a friend. It's pretty funny, but definitely NOT for the easily offended!

The A/C issues has kinda been resolved at work. We fiddled with the vents some and it helped for it not being so cold. Unfortunately, it made the room kinda stuffy. You can't win for losing.

Been rereading some Saiyuki Reload. Afterwards, gonna reread Furuba, from beginning to end...

Well, the majority of our Saturday was spent waiting in line to vote. We waited a total of four hours... and it rained. But, we knew we'd never have the time to do it on Tuesday. Afterward we stopped by Denny's because needless to say, I was STARVING!!! Mom was still feeling a little under the weather still, so even though she ate, she regretted it later.

My Halloween was uneventful, as it usually is. I'm OK with that. Besides, as evidenced by my previous post, I was shredded.

Sunday was kinda boring. I went to church and then out to lunch and then practically bought out the bookstore in order to catch up with my manga. It sucks not having a car of my own to go weekly to the bookstore like I once did... Woe!

Among the books I bought was the newest volume of Furuba. Volume 21 to be specific. We're getting close to the end. Only two more volumes to go. I wonder if I should have a moment of silence once I get volume 23 or not...

My weekend was nothing spectacular. I did discover the cause of my car troubles though. Leaky transmission fluid. Hopefully the leak can be easily (and cheaply) fixed. So still driving mom's car to work in the meantime. Hey, at least we HAVE an alternative vehicle.

Tomorrow is the EOM for us at work, and that means looooots of pressure and stress. I dunno what exactly I'll be doing since the majority of the EOB's are all electronic now. I'll try not to think too much about it.

Finally read some of the manga I'd bought. Vampire Knight 5 and SDK 30. The mystery of Zero's feelings for Yuki is finally (mostly) revealed. Not that it was all that much of a mystery, but you know how the bishies are in the majority of shoujo: Can Not Spit It Out.

And we finally meet the rest of Yuan's family. Over on the [livejournal.com profile] love_deeper comm, I'd heard discussion and seen scans and whatnot, but the pieces are starting to fall into place for me. That typically happens with a series that has Loads And Loads Of Characters.

The tea time we had on Saturday was very delightful. I love it when we do that sort of thing. It's such fun!

Oh, and some of you may or may not notice that I changed out some of my icons.

Greater London’s Metropolitan Police went into action. There was much opposition to the act of Parliament that authorized the police force. Home Secretary Sir Robert Peel had requested the act; and, the police were called ‘Bobbies’ in honor of him. The Bobbies first official headquarters were at Scotland Yard; and Scotland Yard became the official name of the police force.

So, Clay Aiken is gay. NEVER saw that coming. All I know is that my cousin will be profoundly disappointed.

It's also been "officially" revealed that Lindsay Lohan and her girlfriend are "officially" an item. This is new information? Call me cynical, but I wonder how long this show is going to last. I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm glad she was able to find someone in her life to give her stability be they male, female or hermaphrodite. But I wonder how long it'll be before she hitches a ride back on the penis train?

Well, this week has been off to a great start so far...

I'm behind on my work at my job and there is no relief in sight thus far. My rebate I filled out for T-Mobile didn't come through because they said it was incomplete (WHAT?!?!) and I also discovered I'm ineligible for a stimulus check because my mom listed me as a dependent on her tax return. SNAP SMASH!!!

Plus, the pumps at the gas station are telling me I can't buy gas with my card for some reason. I KNOW I have enough money in there to at least do that! Stop crapping on my parade, life!!

Also, I think I'm PMSing. Terrif.

On the bright side, I was able to get my hands on a copy of MarioKart, which is awesome, BTW. It's such fun! My rating is 5th overall, but I hope to improve the more I play. I also read a magazine article on The Force Unleashed. It looks really cool. I'm pretty excited about it.

I also picked up a copy of Naruto 30 and Saiyuki RELOAD 8. Furuba 20 should be released soon. We're getting VERY close to the end.

We went to see Get Smart this weekend. It was pretty good.

Now I'm off to crawl under the covers and hope things start to improve out there before I get knocked upside the head again...

Well, the rain we've so desperately needed has finally come. It's cold and wet and miserable outside and it's absolutely wonderful!!

We helped some friends of ours who will be moving to Tennessee later this week, load up their truck yesterday afternoon/evening. Back breaking work, I must say. We didn't get home until almost 9:30. I had to stop and get me a wrist brace for my Carpal Tunnel (it really helps BTW).

When we go to the door, I noticed a big ass frog on the door near the peephole. I believe my exact words were, "Whoa frog!" Mom and I grabbed or cameras and snapped pictures, hoping he didn't decide to pay us a visit inside. Mom was getting a little frustrated at her new camera because she couldn't get it to take non-fuzzy pictures. My mother isn't the most patient person in the world. I had to tell her to calm down and keep trying, but she eventually she was able to take some pictures.

The final chapter of Inu Yasha is out. It's very sweet and a nice ending.

I tried to find a copy of Saiyuki RELOAD vol. 8. No luck. I didn't want to wander all over the place due to the deluge, so I'll try again this weekend.

It's never too late to submit some testimonials. So far I only have one new one. TT_TT Think of the kittens, will you?

Well, I almost face planted on the way back from the mailbox today. I was too engrossed by looking through the mail to notice the manhole cover in the middle of the street. I came out of one of my shoes and almost twisted my ankle. Way to go, me!!!

I went to the bookstore (yes, hide your surprise) and picked up the final volume of Absolute Boyfriend, volume 10 of NANA and volume 29 of Naruto as well as a crap load of magazines, a J.D. Salinger book and a new book by Meg Cabot. I love her... The new book by Stephanie Meyer (in case you've been living under a rock the past few years, she's the author of Twilight, which I'm still iffy about reading) was out. Let the fandom implode.

I was kinda hoping to find an "accidentally released" copy of Invinsible. No luck...

And the Duggar family made an appearance on the Today Show this morning. Guess what? She's expecting yet another baby. Haven't they ever heard of overpopulation?! It's utterly insane! I have nothing against babies or wanting a large family (not for me, thanks) but how much is TOO much? Our resources are strained enough as it is...

And I find another cool YouTube video. Listen to this kid!

Saturday was the company picnic at the local zoo. Even though I'd been to the zoo many times, this time I had a decent camera and was able to take good shots. That is, until my memory card got full... *facepalm* I have now in place my larger one so that this won't happen again with any luck. I only wish I'd taken it to the Tori concert. I bet I'd have gotten GREAT pics!

That was pretty much the extent of our weekend, really. We ran errands and went home. I slept a good portion of the afternoon because being in the sun tends to wear one out. Mom went over to my aunt's to help her with her project for her class reunion. She ended up staying all night. She said she got some sleep, but when she finally did roll home, she slept even more.

I also read some of my manga I'd gotten on Friday.

Since no one guessed (or even bothered to guess) where the title of my last entry was from, I shall tell you. It's from Clue. I know I just satisfied your burning curiosity. No cyber cookies!

Anyway, yesterday was busy. We had intended to go to sunrise services, but we overslept, so we didn't make it. I guess we just needed to sleep in or something.

We went to church services and then came home to change clothes. Mom had to stop by the store first to get some dinner rolls for later on.

We went to my aunt's and had dinner. It was really good. We got to catch up with some family we hadn't seen since Christmas, actually. Since grandma died, the only time we ever see each other is over the holidays.

Then we went over to some friends of ours for yet another dinner. Needless to say, while the food was good, I didn't eat very much of it. While there, there was playing on the television The Miracle Maker. It's stop motion animation about the life of Jesus from when He started His ministry to His Resurrection. The thing I noticed was the voice of Jesus, who was none other than Ralph Fiennes. This discovering is the reason for my journal title. It looked to be very well done, though.

Later on in the evening, though, we had a late night Easter Egg hunt. It was kinda fun! I came in fourth with 26 eggs. All the eggs had little surprises inside. It was really fun, although it came close to being a bloodbath. I never knew how competitive some people are.

Today was uneventful, although halfway through I deflated a little bit. I wonder if I'm coming down with something.

Bought FMA 16, NANA 9 and Trinity Blood V. Still on the lookout for ES 8, which is supposedly out.

I had to tell mom that we're NOT getting anymore kittens. The two full grown ones we have are just enough for right now. Maybe if we lived in a house instead of an apartment it might be a different story.

We got a new dryer (at a discount, I might add) since our old one went belly up. I still wanna get some of those newer "fancy" washing machines/dryers. However, since I dunno when that's gonna happen... They're not gonna be able to deliver until Friday though since we're not gonna be home during their main delivery times. Since the both of us are gonna be home due to the fact I'll be recovering from a Colonoscopy (joy), that's when we had to have it delivered. So we need to get creative in doing our laundry this weekend.

Sometimes I wonder if I went to High School as the person I am now, I wonder if I'd be able to do more than just survive. I'm pretty comfortable with who I am now, geekiness and all, and more mature than I was 12 or so years ago. Not that I'm gonna do an experiment a la Never Been Kissed, or anything. It's just something I've thought about from time to time.

I think I'm gonna step back from Super Mario Galaxy for a bit. I keep getting frustrated due to the fact I can't get past Planet D and the Frikkin' Black Hole!!! *fnarl* So tonight I will play a little Tennis (maybe some bowling) and some more Bleach (maybe I can get proficient enough to get past the training mode).

Got more manga today. Heh... I'll try to update my GoodReads list, but I got Bleach 22, Absolute Boyfriend 5 (one more to go), Busou Renkin 10 and while I didn't see either TriMax 12 or Kaze Hikaru 8, I'm not giving up! There's always Amazon! Huzzah!

I got my volumes 5 and 6 of Victorian Romance Emma. Now only one more to go and it'll be complete. I have to see when it's coming out. TriMax 12 is coming out next week, so I need to check it out. Mom said she wants me to cut down on my book buying, but that's like asking me to stop breathing. Yes, it's a sickness that I don't want treated.

I may post my thoughts on [livejournal.com profile] ryudoshi eventually.

The Red Tide reared it's ugly head yesterday, so I don't know if I'll be Wii-ing it tonight or not. I may do some Mario, since I don't move around as much.

I kinda wanna see 27 Dresses sometime. Maybe this weekend. I don't know what all we're doing this weekend or anything. I'm kinda iffy on Cloverfield, even though [livejournal.com profile] cleolinda's been talking about it in her blog for several months now.

So tonight I'll most likely be reading and watching some TV, I dunno yet.

First of all: [livejournal.com profile] secondlina I GOT THE "PACKAGE" TODAY!!!!! OMG SO ADORABLE!!!!! I LOVE IT!!!! I have it hanging on my closet! For example.

I may even have it framed, like my friend [livejournal.com profile] kawaiiayu's drawing she did of me (which is sitting on my desk here at home). I'm even keeping the envelope because it has a Work on it!!^_____^ Oh, and it's a Q, BTW...

Work was work. 'Nuff said.

I played some Super Mario Galaxy this weekend. It rocks! It such fun, except when I had to quit because I got SUCKED INTO A BLACK HOLE!!!! I tried again yesterday, and SAME THING!!! T____T I came thisclose to reaching my goal, but I got knocked off and down I went... Grahhh.

I was able to watch at least one of the Tori DVD's. I like the videos one, although most of the time they seem a little... surreal. But music videos in general tend to be a bit surreal. Still, it's probably something I'd buy.

I reread the volumes of Victorian Romance Emma yesterday. Much squishiness for me at the end of volume 4. I need to see when the next one is coming out so I can order it. I did download and read the Emma Side Stories. There was one of William's and Hakim's ongoing tennis rivalry. Hurrr...

Mom and I went back to the gym for the first time in a few months on Saturday. We're going to be easing back into our regime. I need to make me a mix of upbeat workout songs sometime.

And, I was able to finally enjoy my bubble bath I had gotten months ago. Despite the fact our tub wasn't nearly deep enough for adequate soakage, the amount of bubbles more than made up for it.

Ever have one of those days? I did today.

When I came in, it was business as usual. Then I was notified about an error I had made on Monday. Now errors are generally no big deal. every one makes then once in awhile. But this one was following notification of another error I had made, in addition to the one before, so my self-esteem was already considerably bruised as it was.

So I was very down in the dumps for the majority of the day. And today of all days was the big Thanksgiving shindig our office had, and I couldn't even eat anything because my appetite had left me. So I missed out on pie.

I shouldn't let such minor things get to me, but I guess I feel that whenever I make an error, I'm letting the people I work for down and I kinda take it personally. Yet another personality flaw I dislike...

And, as it turned out, the "error" wasn't technically an error at all. Of course, by the time I discovered it, my supervisor had left for the day. I sent her an e-mail pointing it out, though.

I applied the salve of manga onto my wounded ego, however. I stopped by BAM and found Furuba 18, SDK 25 and TB 4.
