snapdragon76: Starlight by Muse (starlight)
In honor of July 4th, I wanted to post the video of the song that plays at the end of the American Experience exhibit at EPCOT. I've always had a fondness for it and it's been a long time favorite of mine and I do admit to getting a little emotional every time I hear it.

Enjoy!

As a bonus, I'll play the video of the song I posted in honor of Canada Day a few days ago. Also from EPCOT I wanted to find the original version rather than the new one they did a few years ago. Since I have quite a few Canadians on here, I hope you all had an enjoyable holiday!

Coming home today, I was listening to the radio when this one particular song came on. I listened for a bit and what do you know, I started liking it. Then I got home and looked it up on YouTube. So, here it is:

Now, for some of you, it's probably not all that new, but I don't listen to the regular radio all that often so when I find a song it tends to be later than most people.

A friend of mine sent me this link via email and I instantly liked it. I like the clips used and I really like the song. In fact, I'll probably end up buying it at some point.

Which clips can YOU identify?

And here's the official music video for your enjoyment.

Yeah. I'm looking forward to this one even though I never finished the first book.

In other news, I have discovered the awesomness that is Oingo Boingo (with a name like that, how can they be anything BUT awesome). Mostly due to the Planetarium playing Dead Man's Party at the Halloween Laser Show. Still, due to Danny Elfman doing the singing, I keep thinking to Jack Skellington is the lead singer (since Danny does the singing voice at least of Jack). So I've been listening to them on a loop on my iPod. Well, them and OneRepublic. Specifically their song Good Life which I first heard on a Disney commercial of all places.

And in case you were curious, they are the same band that sang Weird Science, another awesome 80's movie related song.

I need more Hunger Games icons and icons of badass girls in general...

OK, I've been listening to this song on repeat for quite some time and I am in love with it. The singer's voice is so haunting and beautiful it literally sends chills up my spine. Since there is no official video, here's a fanmade one that's pretty decent. The video itself isn't important, it's the song itself.

Also, I had almost forgotten how much I loved this song when it first came out six years or so ago. Enjoy:

OK, now you know I can be a wee bit obsessive sometimes. About many things, like series (television and books), and music. Well, this post is about music. In particular a song that I heard and I really liked. The song used in this post. Well, I downloaded the song from iTunes and I went searching for the video on YouTube. It's a pretty cool video actually.

I got me a new phone. It was kinda unintentional really. Mom wanted an upgrade, so she got the Motorola Cliq XT (whereas I had the first generation Cliq). When we got home, she tried it out. The new version has just a touch screen (instead of a touch screen/keypad combo). Well, she couldn't type on the touch screen, so we decided to swap phones. So after a bit of a snafu in the setup, I'm raring to go. Mom is still trying to figure out how to work hers (which used to be mine) so she keeps getting frustrated in the process.

I've seen this song on three different fanmixes. Not that there's anything wrong with that, of course. It's a cool song. It's just an observation...

Well, my "sentence" has been extended, so to speak. Instead of this week being my last week, next week will be. My current supervisor said they need to find someone to take my place, and since most of the focus has been on moving the Medical Records department from two different buildings into one other location (don't ask me how this whole thing is supposed to work), so Ive kinda been shoved to the wayside. Although she did say she wasn't aware that I was still working on Saturdays. *headdesk*

Still, it's only one more week, so hopefully it won't be too bad. The fact that I happen to like my fellow "inmates" helps considerably... And I now have my Saturday's back, though getting used to not working on Wednesday's will be strange.

I was playing around with one of the features on my MacBook called "Comic Life." Alas, I can't show you what I did since I can't seem to save it in a format that I can upload onto my PhotoBucket account. *siiiigh*

I also managed to transfer the majority of my song files from Snoopy onto Hakuryuu and therefore upload onto D-Snap. However, I seemed to have missed a few of them... *fnarl*

We signed our new lease last night. It was pretty much the same as the one before, with a few minor details. The rent increased slightly, but not too drastically, so that's a plus. Mom was wondering if we had to pay the pet deposit again, and I couldn't tell from reading it (since I can't decipher legalese), so I guess we'll find out. It might help now that I have a job (with the eventual upgrade that's coming).

Mom was having trouble with her Shuffle last night. She spent a lot of time uploading a bunch of CD's onto her iTunes, but they wouldn't load into her Shuffle for some reason. Since she has a bit of a short temper (which I have NOT inherited, btw *ahem*), she was getting very frustrated. So, at 1:30 in the morning, she figured it out and got them to load. *shakes head*

I'm breaking out on my chin more recently, so I feel a little fug lately. I think this is a sure sign that the Red Tide is coming. Joy.

Well, I'm signing off for the time being. See you in the intarwebz...
