For my Canadian friends out there, the song played at EPCOT at the Canada Pavilion (which is a fave of mine). They redid the song a few years ago, but I don't like it as much so here is the original.

In honor of July 4th, I wanted to post the video of the song that plays at the end of the American Experience exhibit at EPCOT. I've always had a fondness for it and it's been a long time favorite of mine and I do admit to getting a little emotional every time I hear it.

Enjoy!

As a bonus, I'll play the video of the song I posted in honor of Canada Day a few days ago. Also from EPCOT I wanted to find the original version rather than the new one they did a few years ago. Since I have quite a few Canadians on here, I hope you all had an enjoyable holiday!

Merry Christmas everyone!!! Hope it was happy and healthy for you!!

Mine was very good. I got my mom two Cd's that I knew she'd like (both were Trio Cd's. The Trio consisted of Dolly Parton. Emmylou Harris and Linda Ronstadt), and a DVD set of an old cult TV show she used to watch Tales of the Gold Monkey.

I got the newest Star Trek New Frontier book and a really neat coffee table book called Harry Potter Page to Screen which is about the process of getting the Harry Potter books turned into films. It's really fascinating so far.

From mom I got a new pair of ear phones since the ones I have are starting to die out on me. But the best gift she got me was the new Amazon Kindle Fire! It's really cool! Not only can you read book, but you can play games, listen to music, watch movies and TV and surf the web. It's basically like a tablet PC. I've been fondling it for the majority of the day. :DD

My aunt got me an entire jar of these delish cinnamon rolls she makes using the extra dough from when she bakes pies. A whole jar of them, JUST for me!!! Mwahahahahahaaaaaaaa!!!!

I found out today at dinner what my Native American Animal Totem is. It's not something I would've expected either. It's a swan! Yes, a beautiful swan. It may start out plain, but it grows into something beautiful yet fierce when needs to be. Specifically either a Trumpeter Swan or a Black Swan. Mom's is an otter, which reading the description fits her perfectly!

Tomorrow mom and I are planning a major movie marathon. First, we're going to see 'Sherlock' again. Then, while she goes to see 'Mission Impossible' I will be seeing 'Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.' After that, we'll be seeing 'The Descendants so that'll be fun. I'm looking forward to that!

Sorry this is kinda late. I was gone almost all day...

Well, we waited five hours at the ball park IN THE RAIN only to have the game canceled because the field was too wet. They did eventually set off the fireworks... after we waited another hour. This was one of the worst displays of organization I have ever seen...

Welcome to 2010!!

As I tend to do this time of year, it's time for an end of year first sentence (or two) post. You've seen those before...

January:

happy new year, everyone!!

February:

our water heater is on the fritz and i want to take a nice hot shower, but i can't!

March:

pow wow was fun, but maaaaan do i ache

April:

Hi all. No, I'm not dead, just not had a lot to post lately, so I didn't.

May:

the bathroom is the cleanest it's ever been in while... and it probably won't last long. at least not the two weeks we have left.

June:

gonna go see up in a few. looks to be a winner!

July:

I'll make this entry pretty short since I'm feeling kinda blah right now and am trying to fight off a headache. (not technically the first post of the month, but that one was a picture post, so I opted for the second one).

August:

Well, so much for a good start to the weekend. Our car died on us.

September:

yaa know, eric is one of the few people i've seen (i.e. not that many) who can really work a dress. #trueblood

October:

i have been on a major #theoffice kick lately! mainlined all the dvd's over the past few days. and jim and pam are all kinds of adorable...

November:

i'm about to dig into some fresh made pumpkin bread. uh-huh, that's right.

December:

OK peeps! Here's the second reminder to get your addresses to me if you want in on the awesome Christmas card action!

Aaaaaand that be it!

I'm not making any resolutions for myself this year. I will, however set a goal. That goal is to try and lose at least 30-40 lbs by the end of 2010.I figure I have a set time and set number, so it might be a smidge easier. I have the means, but not always the motivation. I hope to be able to address that over the course of the year. I want to be able to look at photos of mysef and not cringe in terror...

Went to the movies again. Saw Princess and the Frog. Very nice. Disney does it again. It's nice to see them return to traditional animation again. 3-D is neat and all, but 2-D has a certain nostalgic fondness for me. I and do admit to tearing up in a certain scene.

We also went to another showing of Sherlock Holmes. Still kicks ass...

snapdragon76: Starlight by Muse (starlight)
Hai everybody!! Miss me? No, as a matter of fact I haven't fallen off the face of the earth. Despite not updating my journal for a long while (aside from my twitter feed, which I know a few don't particularly like. sorry), I'm still live and kicking. I just haven't been arsed to update any. So, before everyone revolts and leaves, I thought I'd do an actual honest to God update. How about that! Are I nice?

Mom has her car, so we are both driving our own cars, which hasn't happened in over a year, so that's nice. Mom sold some silver dollars she had and came up with some additional scratch which helped considerably in springing her car from prison. Still pretty broke though, so I haven't been able to catch up on a lot of the manga/books I'd normally like to. Hopefully this can be rectified soon. *crosses fingers and offer supplications to various deities* Also, I'd like to be able to actually purchase [personal profile] secondlina's first publishing effort. I try to support the publication efforts of the people I follow here on LJ. So far, I've done two. I expect there to be more in the future.

I've enjoyed the day off I've had today so far. We didn't do much, because we have no money. So we went to the mall and window shopped a little. I went into a shoe store, which was a mistake because I saw purple Converse low tops and a super cute pair of peep-toe pumps which looked fab on me. I left empty handed...

I also discovered that I really can't upgrade my phone until March at the earliest. I guess I can hang in there a few more months. TT_TT Of course, now I'm torn between the Sidekick and the Samsung touch screen. I fondled both and I still can't decide.
