ARGH!! Stupid weather front causing the preemption of television shows...

Last night, mom and I were watching Oprah and she had Sean Penn on. Now, the reason I was interested in watching it was because he was going to be promoting his new movie Into the Wild (I already own the book). However, during the course of the telecast, we kept getting interruptions from the network about the severe weather front that was occurring further inland. Now, I want to be updated as much as the next person, but stopping every ten minutes! I mean, what's wrong with a crawl and a wee little graphic in the corner. Since the original broadcast was on at 4:00, we didn't record it unaware of the interruptions that would happen. So I missed the majority of the show, not to mention the parts of it I wanted to watch the most. *fnarl*

[livejournal.com profile] kawaiiayu, I actually began working on your scarf again. I may actually finish it for your next birthday... T_T

I made an appointment to get my contacts fitted finally. Alas, 3:40PM on a Friday was the latest I could get it... This coming on the heels of needing to fill out the forms to get the day after Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve and New Years Eve off. Yikes!

I think I wanna dress up as a gypsy for Halloween. I pretty much have all the stuff I need, except for a peasant skirt and bangle bracelets. I need to wrack my brains in order to find what I need.

Tomorrow, mom and I have a ton of stuff planned. I wanted to have a Saturday where I could basically stay home. *sigh* Maybe next weekend...

I bought even more volumes of Bleach. I'm slowly building up my collection. I have up to 12 at the moment. There are currently 20 out now. *siiiigh* That and I still need to catch up to where the current chapters are (well, sorta. I read about ten back, I think). I'd like to try to make a headway this weekend sometime.

Now to finish drinking my cider outta my Spidey mug. *sluuuuurp*

Quickie post before Lost comes on...

The memorial service was very lovely and well attended. During the service, they played In The Garden which was grandma's favorite hymn, so I cried some.

Work was fine. A guy came in to assess where the outlets were going to go for the scanner, so hopefully more progress will be made on that front. I did messaging today. I have to go the the main office and get the phone messages indicating charts that need to be pulled for various reasons and sign them out (so we know where they are if anyone tries to look for them) and delivering them back to the office. It's a bit tiring. My feet are sore. I get to do more of it tomorrow.

Mom's illness is really mostly sinus drainage. Yuck-o. I'm glad it's not me is all I have to say...

I doubt I'll be able to get to any posts tonight. I'll try to read them tomorrow when I have a bit more time, it depends.

I was able to figure out what I'm going to do for Halloween. I think it'll be cute. What is it you ask? Well, just wait and see. *evil laugh*

Trivia of the day: Wellington College, which was founded in 1853 and specialized in educating the sons of soldiers, was quick to adopt its own set of colors for its sports teams. Its rugby team played in orange-and-black striped jerseys, while its cricket team sported light-blue caps piped with yellow — colors taken, curiously but appropriately, from the ribbon of the Crimean War medal.

And I know I have a comma error, but my grammar-fu is down for the count tonight. *eyes Ysa and/or Ginny*

It's too bad I can't wear jeans to work. I'm having to get somewhat creative with my wardrobe choices. However, it may not be an issue anymore if I get buried underneath the piles of papers that I have yet to scan in the database. It's not bad having to scan, just a bit time consuming at times. I don't mind it really except for days like today when the scanner starts to act up. But I was proud of myself. I was able to get it all figured out even though I was completely unfamiliar with the hardware or the program. And my code works so I can get into the building now!

And I think we're going to be getting our lockers soon. It won't matter to me for much longer since I'm being transferred to another building next week sometime. I think I'm gonna miss the ladies I've been working with, even though it's only been barely over a week we've known each other.

I don't know how far into my FL I'm gonna be able to get tonight, so if you want me to see something in particular, you'd better link it to me.

Mom's almost got her pirate costume all together for the Halloween Costume thing her building is having. She got the sword she needs to complete the look. She's gonna use the scarf I made her as a sash around her waist. Hey, as long as it's getting worn, I don't care.

Now I need to think of costume ideas for my character and Amon for the ATACT Halloween Bash. I must send out notices...

Trivia of the day: Traditionally, a Jewish baby is not named for a living person. There is a concern that the "Angel of Death" will mistake the infant for the older person if the names are the same.
