Ahh, springtime. The pollen is in bloom and the Love Bugs are procreating...

...only to end up smeared all over my car.

I was going to wash my car today, but I realized it was pointless since it'd only be covered in insect corpses again.

Well, I caved and bought some scrubs to wear to work. Ordinarily I follow the credo: "I'm clerical and not clinical, therefore no scrubs." However, given the change in my job, I needed something I could wear tennis shoes with. Therefore, comfort over credo.

I also found the new Michael Bublé CD today. Loverly.

I'm going to forego the whole new dress thing. I think I'll wear my black one that I only wore once. It's a very nice dress and I don't feel like schlepping all over town for one dress. Now I just need to find my black wrap.

I also got my hands on FMA 13, SDK 22 and Legacy 11. Go me!!!

I hope everyone had a pleasant weekend. Mine went well. Saturday I worked (naturally) and Sunday mom and I went to the Spring Training baseball game. It was a nice day for it and not rainy like to one we went to before it was. We forgot to bring sunscreen and the sun was most definitely out that day. I put my hoodie back on after a while because I didn't want to get burned. Mom, however, didn't and now her right arm looks like a lobster claw (her words). We drove through the local wildlife area afterwards (we left early). I didn't really see much of anything since being in the sun made me sleepy and I wanted to sleep…

Work today was good. I had more sorting to do before I could do any scanning. It took me about two hours to do it. *sigh* But, no one else is gonna do it, so I have to.

I spent a good portion of the weekend reading Runaways. It's a good series, and I highly recommend it (Joss Whedon Approved!) I bought the smaller digest version (of which there are currently six with more to come), and read almost up to the current issue (almost. There's still a few issues I need to catch up on), and spent most of the time fangirling Victor.

I also read vol. 12 of FMA as well. I hope to do a write up on it as time allows.

My computer's been pissing me off all weekend. It's been extremely sluggish and slow for some reason. I still can't access the Internet from my Mac, so I have no choice but to use my PC. But, I broke my goofy hammer, so I can no longer beat it into submission. I can't update my iPod because loading music onto my iTunes takes forever. Hopefully my Mac will be up and running sometime soon.

I think I'm becoming obsessed with this song. I've listened to it like 11 times in a row already...

Well, I went to the bookstore again yesterday, but I really lucked out, so all is golden. So I don't have to go back again until it's time for me to get the newest Legacy comics...

Mom saw the OKGo video with the treadmills on YouTube last night and she thought it was pretty neat. I saw it before, but it wasn't a very good quality version of it, so I was actually able to see the entire thing. The friend that sent it to her said that they performed it live (complete with treadmills) on the VMA's.

My allergies are bugging me a lot lately. I had a hard time going to sleep last night because of them...

OK, onto more important things...

I was able to finally get my hands on a copy of TriMax 9. And I must say this, I agree with [livejournal.com profile] lizardali when she said "Poor Livio." Poor Livio indeed. But he's a real bad ass though! He caught a rocket fired from Wolfwood's rocket launcher with his bare hand! Dayum! And I never knew Livio and Razlo the TriP of Death were the same person, albeit separate personalities. From reading summaries and translations I always thought they were two different people.

The shock of Mustang's actions in FMA 9 was lessened since reading it the second time around, but it still stings a bit.

And I got the final volume of Hot Gimmick as well. It was wrapped in plastic and had a disclaimer on the cover. Can't have innocent eyes flipping though it and see the boobies! I saw raw scans and read translations before, so I wasn't overly surprised at the outcome. It was nice, however, to see clearer images than the somewhat fuzzy ones from the raw scans.

I also gazed at more raw volume scans of Kaze Hikaru. I say "gazed" since I can't very well read them. Oh, for some translations! Anyway, this time was volume 8 and it had a lot of Okita's past in it. And Okita as a little kid? Abso-freakin-lutely adorable! And we see that he runs into Sei when both were little kids! How cute! Sei is lost and looking for her brother Yuma and Okita is also lost. He helps her find her brother and he gets found as well. We also see what Kondo and Hijikata were like when they were younger. Pretty much the same, really. Hijikata was still an oni and Kondo was very much a kindly older brother.

I know I should be working on my story for ATACT, but I haven't felt very motivated lately. Maybe I've reached a sort of ennui in regards to story writing. I mean, I still have some ideas buzzing around, but I haven't felt the urge to write them down. I dunno why, really. Maybe it's something that happens to everyone once in a while...

Trivia of the day: The biggest fear of chefs who cook for world leaders is food poisoning. Many cook for as many as 5,500 guests at a time. Sudhir Sibal, a devoted world-class chef who serves India's prime minister, says he personally samples all food first before it is served.

One more day until my birthday!!! Even though I'm not going to be doing anything for it, I still kinda get excited when it comes around, you know? Kinda like, "Yay! I've been hanging around for another year! Go me!"

I had this strange dream this morning. I was in a house with mom, and the lady we used to live with was there along with her granddaughter. I don't think we were living with her again because the house was different. Anyway, I was sitting in front of the TV and I was picking up chocolate covered pretzels from the floor and putting them back into the bag, only the bag was starting to get full, and there were still more pretzels left. I was watching 'Everwood' on the TV, only all the characters were a lot younger. Ephram was about eight and he had a beard. I don't think it was real though, but for a play of some sort.

I told you it was strange...

And I just found out that 'Kaze Hikaru' is being pulled from Shojo Beat after the September issue. How lame! That was one of the few series I like in there. I mean, I do read NANA and Absolute Boyfriend, but since I've read all of AB already and I can get scanlations of NANA, there will really be no reason for me to continue to keep getting it. I do like the newest series, Vampire Knight, but I can get scanlations of that too. I'll still buy the graphic novels when they come out, though. So after the September issue, no more Shojo Beat for me!

And where was FMA on Monday night?! It's getting toward the end and I'd been watching it, but they had something else on instead! I was pissed! I hope it's gonna be on again next Monday!

There's going to be a game night at church tonight, and from the looks of it, mom wants to go, so we'll be doing that tonight.

In the meantime, I'm doing laundry 'cause mom needs some clothes for work. I also need to put the clean dishes away from the dishwasher.

À bientot!

Trivia of the day: Reportedly, Louisa May Alcott didn't want to write her classic novel, Little Women. She despised young girls and wrote the bestseller for the money.

I had to wake up early in order to take mom into work. Normally I'd still feel a bit annoyed, but this morning was hampered by the fact I didn't sleep well last night. I went to bed at about 11:30 last night, which is early for me. I sailed off to sleep fine, but then around 2:30, my brain decided it's had enough sleep and wakes up. Of course, I have to wake up along with it. So the majority of the night, I'm trying to tell my brain to put a sock in it when all it wants to do is party. Ya-hoo.

This month's Red Tide® is pretty light actually. It came on Monday and now at Wednesday it's tapered off for the most part. So I'm happy about that!!

I want to thank everyone for their testimonials they gave! I shall definitely be adding them soon, like perhaps today! If you haven't yet, and still want to add your own testimonial, go here.

The lady from the apartments called us over the weekend. Mom finally was able to get ahold of her Monday and she said that a two bedroom one bath was opening up. She asked us if we still wanted a two bedroom two bath and we said yes. Space-wise, that's just the best option for us. She said that the rent has been raised to between $805 to $815 a month. When mom told me I was like O_o WTF!! I know inflation is a factor, but it couldn't have been that bad in the course of a few months. We did see in the paper a house 3 bdrm, 2 bath) that was in a neighboring area for $775 a month (with a pool). I told mom she needed to call them!

I didn't get to work on as many icons yesterday as I wanted to. I did make one from the lil' skeleton guy from the inside of 'Death Note' 4, and he turned out pretty cute. I named him Mr. Death. I might trot him out for around Halloween. Also, I'm working on a new background/wallpaper. This one'll have Mikami on it. Not that I still don't adore Takumi! I mean, he's scrumptious, but Mikami is pretty hot too, even though he is a member of Light's Death Squad. So I've enjoyed fondling playing with him a bit. I don't think I'll change things right away, though.

And, according to ANN, Viz has acquired the rights to Watsuki-sensei's (manga-ka of 'Rurouni Kenshin') newest series, 'Buso Renkin' to be released starting in August. I think I'm gonna check it out.

And I broke down and watched the final episode of FMA on YouTube. I just knew I couldn't wait until Saturday. I mean, I'll still watch it on Saturday, but I'm not so anxious now. And I have links to the movie as well if I want to watch it sometime...

Today I plan on stopping by the bookstore to see what they have in. That's pretty much my big agenda for the day. I'll have to see if anything else comes up.

Trivia of the day: Before Wally "Famous" Amos became a well-known cookie mogul in the 1970s and 1980s, he worked for a time as a William Morris talent agent.

The thing that makes me dislike being female at times has come upon me. The Red Tide®. It doesn't seem as bad this time around. It tends to vary. But, it came before the wedding, so I'm happy.

I think mom's car has officially bit the dust. We picked it up yesterday and she had me follow her just in case, and when we pulled up to the house, she said it stalled out on her four times. So yeah, I think it's DOA. Which means, that I'm going to be the lucky individual playing chauffeur. Goody. The lady we live with did say that she has an extra car that her daughter used to drive that she still pays the insurance for and she said she'd consider letting mom borrow it for a bit. I hope it's before she leaves on vacation tomorrow. *crosses fingers* Getting up early does not make Snap a happy individual.

I went through my magazines yesterday and cut out the articles and whatnot that I wanted to keep. It freed up quite a bit of space for me in the one box. But it'll probably get filled pretty quickly though if I know me and my hoarding tendency.

Today I'm going to do stuff that I need to do around the house (like laundry) and maybe try to write more of the story I need to on ATACT. Plus some scanning I want to do as well as start on some icons. I spent a good deal of time yesterday looking up FMA sites due to the wicked cliffhanger we left on on Saturday. So cruel. The end is coming though, like one more episode.

Here's something I snagged from [livejournal.com profile] flamika and [livejournal.com profile] kawaiiayu:

Give me a testimonial to go in my userinfo, please~? ♥

I really hope to get some responses too. I'm kinda curious as to what y'all say...

Trivia of the day: Increasing herbicide use has created a jungle of at least 48 "super-weeds" that are resistant to chemicals.
