snapdragon76: this is made of win and awesome (Kyo -- *EMO*)
Ever have one of those days? I did today.

When I came in, it was business as usual. Then I was notified about an error I had made on Monday. Now errors are generally no big deal. every one makes then once in awhile. But this one was following notification of another error I had made, in addition to the one before, so my self-esteem was already considerably bruised as it was.

So I was very down in the dumps for the majority of the day. And today of all days was the big Thanksgiving shindig our office had, and I couldn't even eat anything because my appetite had left me. So I missed out on pie.

I shouldn't let such minor things get to me, but I guess I feel that whenever I make an error, I'm letting the people I work for down and I kinda take it personally. Yet another personality flaw I dislike...

And, as it turned out, the "error" wasn't technically an error at all. Of course, by the time I discovered it, my supervisor had left for the day. I sent her an e-mail pointing it out, though.

I applied the salve of manga onto my wounded ego, however. I stopped by BAM and found Furuba 18, SDK 25 and TB 4.

Friday! Yay!!

Anyway, I stopped by mom's work so she could help me sort out my benefits package. I decided to get basic medical coverage as well as dental (I have a cavity) and vision. I also got Life Insurance (hey, you never know). I have to "re-negotiate" in January, in which I'll probably switch some things out. It takes effect at the beginning of August. I have to turn my paperwork into HR on Monday.

I'm going to look into getting my Wii soon. I dunno if I'll decide to go online and get it (like I did my laptop and my iPod) or go into a store. The store don't seem to have any. I do want to do a few errands on Saturday... possibly. I do want to swing by the comic shop because I'm missing my latest issue of Buffy.

I did manage to pick up a few manga titles yesterday. Samurai Deeper Kyo 23 and Trinity Blood 3. Still no Hellsing 8. But then, Dark Horse has a tendency to be late a lot of the times... I might post about them on [livejournal.com profile] ryudoshi eventually.

Wow, I never expected to get over 40 responses to my Pod People post on [livejournal.com profile] mst3k. Kewl!

I'm still trying to narrow down where I wanna go for my birthday: Disney/MGM Studios or Islands of Adventure. Now keep in mind, this is hinged on where the "Build You Own Lightsaber" exhibit is. I know it's Disney, but I don't know if it's in the park itself or not. Should I post a poll on this?

Well, tomorrow mom and I are going to go see Ratatouille sometime which I'm kinda excited about because it looks really cute.

I think I'm an electronics jinx. My iPod vomited on me today. I couldn't get my songs to play or even get it to shut off. It worked fine Saturday when I last used it, so I have no idea what happened to it. I didn't do anything to it that I don't ordinarily do. Curious. So I'm gonna go to Apple Support and see if I can find anything out. If not, then it's off to the Apple store to see if they can figure it out. I felt naked today without it.

But, I got my Runaways print in the mail today, so that brightened my day a lot! It looks gorgeous! I think I'm gonna have it framed. *preens*

Mom took a personal day today. She was feeling a little burned out with all of the overtime and extra work she's been doing. I hope she gets some relief soon…

I got the Spider-Man 3 novelization yesterday after we got done at the movie (Wild Hogs for the curious). And it won't spoil me in the slightest. I also go the Mirrorverse compilation with the New Frontier story Cutting Ties. I haven't fully read it yet, but I did skim through it some and found some very interesting variations I must say.

I also read some of the second Trinity Blood manga. *whistles* Boy, Fr. Leon is smokin'!! Those abs you could literally scrub clothes on. And I know I'm going to the special hell for saying that…

And finally, from [livejournal.com profile] myabita13:

Ugh. Mondays are hell. I was so slammed today. I had a lot of charts to scan today since people tend to see the doctor on a Monday since they were held over from the weekend. That in itself wasn't so bad, but then I had messages for part of the day, and that kept me too busy to return to my scanning for a good portion of the time. So needless to say, I still have stuff to do tomorrow when I go in in the morning.

Plus, I have to get up early so I can go and vote when the polls open since we're not gonna make it after work. The non-early riser inside of me is complaining bitterly about it.

And, I have to fix my dinner and take a shower as well. *screams*

OK, onto the weekend:

Saturday:

Errands mostly. I had to go to the mall and get my pants for work (and a few shirts as well). Then a stop to the bookstore. I crapped out there except for a few magazines. Then we got groceries. It took a good part of the day...

Movie night was Over The Hedge. Still incredibly cute. I loved it.

Sunday:

Church. We had a membership meeting afterwards. The Ooma was there! And I actually talked to him, too! It helps that mom was a buffer. I'm slowly working up my nerve...

Different bookstore. Jackpot! I got Legacy 4 (even though I was looking for 5), SDK 20, Immortal Rain 7 and Trinity Blood 1. Good times!

I also discovered that my dad fell from a ladder sometime last week and broke his leg. *facepalm* I chewed him out via e-mail. So he's laid up for 6-8 weeks, which I'm sure he's thrilled about.

On to fandom news. Furuba 135 is out. A very bittersweet chapter, but it ties up some loose ends, so it was good.

SDK was good. I was glad 'Tora got to shine since he's terribly underused. I mean, I know it's Kyo's book, but still. A lot of the other minor characters seems to get more attention that 'Tora does, so I have to support him whenever I can.

And Immortal Rain 7 was much joy. Heee! I hope to do more detailed squeeage on my Greatest Journal, but not this coming weekend since I'll be out of town starting Thursday (heads up, FL).

Hopefully tomorrow I'll not be to much of a zombie and a cranky cuss, but I make no promises.

Be sure to vote tomorrow!!!

Trivia of the day: Alcoholics are twice as likely to confess a drinking problem to a computer than to a doctor, say researchers in Wisconsin.

Someone on the ATACT boards introduced the character of Abel Nightroad from the series 'Trinity Blood'. And I saw pics. He's a definite hottie. And he's a bit goofy like Vash from 'Trigun', whom I've always liked. But he works for the Vatican and so there are definite boundaries not to cross. Still, I think I'll give him a good glomping anyway...

I stayed up intil 12:30 last night because I was watching 'Princess Mononoke' on TCM last night. I told myself I wasn't going to stay up to watch the whole thing, but I did anyway. I had taken a really long (unintentional) nap previously, so I wasn't really tired. Besides, I'm a night owl as it is. Once I become employed again, I'm going to need to curb my tendancy to stay up late if I don't want to be a zombie in the morning.

Mom's expecting a package in the mail, so I have to keep an eye out for it. *sigh* I wish I'd get more stuff in the mail. I love getting mail (that aren't bills of course).

Now that the holidays are over, things seemed to have slowed down a bit. It's kinda dull.

Trivia of the day: The rude act of raking foods into one’s already full mouth with chopsticks is disdainfully called komibashi in Japanese. <-- Yay! A Japanese factoid today!
