Happy 2008 everyone!!! And, since I am a sheep, the year in review meme:

Take the first (and second if need be) sentence from the first entry of the month form last year and post them. That is your year in review.

January: Fifty books a month in my savings account? I can handle that... even though my bank account might not be able to.

February: Signs you may be watching 'Buffy' too much...You have a dream that you're Willow... and a werewolf. Eh-heh...

March: *fnarl* Well, apparently there was a meeting yesterday in the Med Recs department (that I missed since it was my day off). It seems as if the Med Rec department in the building where I work is going to be obsolete by the end of the year.

April: I think I'm an electronics jinx. My iPod vomited on me today.

May: Geez, one of these days, I'd like to have a Wednesday where I'm not going anywhere and I can just veg. Not even get out of my pajamas.

June: I got the full time position!!!!11!!!!!!

July: Well, I missed my chance to get home early. It all hinged on whether or not any fee tickets came in that needed posting.

August: Today was another early day for me. The beginning of the month is like that sometimes.

September: Happy Labor Day everyone!! It's nice having a paid day off from work.

October: News on the baby duck front: we have babies!!

November: I was supposed to have an annual job review (my very first, actually) which is related to if I get a raise or not.

December: Hmmm, where to start...

New Year's Eve was fun. We Wii'd our hearts out, despite there not being any Mario Galaxy... We played Carnival Games which was fun, since I don't get to play the competition part any. We ate some Chinese, which was delicious. Maybe I should do that for the Chinese New Year next month...

Yesterday during the day, I didn't do much of anything, which was entirely the plan. I watched a few movies: Saved! and The Simpsons Movie (which was my first time seeing it. Yes, I laughed). After that, I played on my Wii some more. The started with the Harry Potter game. And the wingardium leviosa spell is a lot harder than it looks, I tell ya. Then I played some Bleach, which I hadn't played in awhile. Usually I play against Renji, but this time I decided to play against Uryuu. Big mistake! I was only able to go bankai twice! Usually I'm able to a lot more times than that, but since my life bar was always low, I couldn't. Damn Ishida and his projectile weapons...

I was gonna take a bubble bath, too but I didn't. Maybe this weekend.

It's a little chilly here for us. It's 44° here (6.6° C for my Northern friends). Yes, for us, that's a mite cold. I wore my coat into work today. I'll probably have to do the same thing tomorrow.

Kids say the darndest things...

I ordered Super Mario Galaxy form Amazon and should be getting it on Monday... just in time for the Wii New Years party we're going to. I also got a guidebook as well. I need all the help I can get.

After work, I joined the fitness center, which if free for those of us with a particular insurance since it's the same company who owns the fitness center. There are a few classes I'm interested in, mostly Pilates and yoga. A lot of them are during the day, though...

I stopped by the bookstore and picked up a few volumes of Naruto. Not the whole series, mind you, just the volumes featuring the fight between Naruto and Sasuke (which then leads into the Shippuden Arc (I think I spelled that right)...

I also got the latest Buffy comic and the newest Princess Diaries book also. It was less of a mad house than the last time I went, that's for sure...

Well, I hope everyone has a safe and pleasant New Years! See you in 2008!

Hey ho!! I hope everyone had a pleasant Christmas! I did!

My haul:

Not pictured: The Spaceballs/Robin Hood: Men in Tights double feature.

Today was my first day back at work after a four day weekend. It took some effort, but I was able to make it in okay. There wasn't any school zones or a bunch of traffic either, which was kinda nice. I could still kinda tell my brain was a little outta commission for brief times today because I had to go over some things again a few times... eh-heh.

I managed to successfully burn some of my recordings off of my computer onto DVD. I'm pretty pleased, I must say. I wasn't able to omit the commercials however. I'll just scan through them...

We saw Enchanted on Monday. It was delightful! Very cute! Next week mom wants to see National Treasure: Book of Secrets. We also have a Wii New Year's Party to attend, which I'm excited about. Mom wants to play mine sometime, but I have yet to figure out the semantics since it's in my room and there's barely enough room for me to play. I'd have set it up in the living room, but it's always occupied and I'd never get to use it at all... Moving it from room to room seems out since I have to lug the entire system back and forth, including the cables and the sensor bar.

ETA: We just had to break up a cat fight on our porch. Weird...

I totally need to get me a new chair at work. Sitting all days for hours on end really starts to get to me. Unfortunately, due to budgetary concerns, in order to get a new chair, I'd need a doctor's note saying I need one. Urgh...

Anyway, this weekend was pretty full. Saturday I finished up my shopping, which took longer than I expected. I had to meet mom then so we could go to the Flea Market and get a few other gifts for various family members. I also got me a bamboo plant for my work area. It looks really nice.

I started on some of my cards, but I wasn't able to finish them, I hope I can real soon so I can get them out as soon as I can, hopefully so you can get them before Christmas. Speaking of which, I got your card today, [livejournal.com profile] elvenmoon! It's very cute!

Sunday we spent getting groceries, which took quite a while actually, since we went to church beforehand. Then the majority of the day was spend wrapping gifts and printing off gift tags and doing laundry et al. I also watched OotP and played some of my new games I got (Carnival Games for the Wii and Master of Illusion for the DS. Both tons of fun).

I bought volume 15 of FMA as well. It's mostly a flashback volumes as Hawkeye regales what happened during the Ishbalian War to Ed. And Ed's facial expressions are still love...

And today is a day for some hot tea. I think I shall go and fix some.

Hmmm, where to start...

Weekend was spent either out doing errands (or at the Body Shop party where I spent too much money), or cleaning. I did get me new bedding. The ones I had were kinda wearing out and they weren't really my style. They came with the bed when I got it from grandma and my aunt had originally gotten them. Very floral.

The ones I got better suit me. They're striped and in more earthy tones. The comforter is plaid and kinda quilt-like. I have pictures of course. I also vacuumed my floor and rearranged a few things (not a lot) so I have a bit more space then I did.

I also got an iDog that I listened to my iPod through. Very cute!

Mom got a water filter for the faucet because she feels it'll save us some money from buying the bottled water we do. Time will tell.

We managed to put up some of the decorations yesterday too. by which I mean the lights on the outside. We need to decide where exactly we're gonna put the tree since we now have the library table. We definitely need the tree so I can have my traditional "sleeping-under-the-tree-on-Christmas-Eve" experience.

I got my Wii controller jacket in the mail today. I got it for free since I got my Wii earlier than when they were standard. It's kinda funky lookin'. Maybe my hands wont get as sweating while using it.

HEATHER!!! E-MAIL ME BECAUSE I HAVE SOMETHING FOR JOOS!!! HURRRR!

So this weekend was a pretty full one.

Saturday, mom went with my aunt to a High School Marching Band competition. It was mostly bands from our area, though. My high school got high marks, so that was good to hear. It took them most of the day.

I was out getting my tires realigned, which took an hour and a half for some reason. After I finished with that, I headed over to Best Buy in a fruitless attempt to buy the Bleach box set that's supposedly out. So I decided to get the individual disks instead along with King Kong and Hellboy as well as a few more games for my DS and some guide books. I did this despite the fact that I have no room to put them...

Then I went to the bookstore to "browse" and ostensibly buy another Tori Amos CD so I can get in the mindset for the concert on the 18th. Not a tremendous amount of selection, however. I did buy a magazine and a book on iPods, so it wasn't a complete loss.

Then I swung by the mall to have a look around in the hopes of perhaps buying another pair of work pants. No such luck, however. I did get friendly with a few kittens at the pet store! ^_^

I bought a pair of shoes and had lunch then went home. I played more Wii and got a good workout with the boxing game, actually. And I totally got a knockout! Awesome! I also played more Bleach and then I watched a couple of movies: The most recent live action version of Peter Pan and Night At The Museum. Very cute! I played some Tetris DS a bit too.

Sunday was really busy as well. After church, mom and I went looking for a pair of penny loafers for mom's costume for Wednesday. The theme of her office is the 1950's. We searched almost the whole mall before we found some at JC Penney's. They were men's since women's doesn't have a pair of genuine penny loafers. I also got me some super cute hats while I was there (not at Penney, at another store). I have pictures even!

The rest of Sunday was spent at home, relaxing. I took a nap for longer than I had wanted to. When I do, I generally have trouble sleeping later that evening, and I certainly did. In fact, I'm surprised I'm as alert as I was when I woke up this morning despite the fact that my brain wouldn't shut up.

I saw the second episode of Death Note Saturday. Needless to say, I love L's voice! It's the same actor who portrays Lt. Gaeta on BSG. Neat! And Light is beginning his decent nto madness. Fun fun.

And, despite the fact that the Red Tide decided to make an appearance, it's been pretty mild so far. Thankfully.

And I finally have a decent version of PhotoShop on my laptop! Whee!! I'm a little rusty, but I'm sure my skills will pick up again. Not that my skills were all that fantastic to begin with...

And I've yet to figure out how to insert pictures from my Scrapbook onto my client. Hrmmm...

This weekend was fun, if a little short.

The tea/luncheon was very pleasant. We stayed and chatted for several hours and it was very nice. However it did eat up a lot of time, but it was time well spent.

That night, I played some more of my Wii and tried out my new Bleach game. It. Is. Awesome. However, by the end of my session, I felt like my arm was about to fall off. If I was more creative, I'd have drawn a little cartoon of me standing and holding my Wii controller and nunchuck and looking at my right arm on the floor. The caption would read, "Dude, and that was only the training level." Hee!

I didn't fare too badly, despite the fact that I was dueling Renji and he has Zabimaru which can stretch... the dirty (but pretty hot) cheater. I was able to go Bankai (since I was playing as Ichigo) and knock him down several times though.

I was able to catch the Death Note anime. I thought I was pretty decent. I liked the voices of Light and Ryuk. Never having seen the Japanese version, it seemed pretty faithful.*shrugs* I dunno...

Sunday I went to church and afterward I stopped by Best Buy to look for some DVD's. I found the third Hellsing Ultimate, which will probably be the last one unless another company picks up the rights... *grumble* But still... PIP!!! *squee*

Then I stopped by the bookstore to primarily browse, but that hardly ever ends up being the case with me and bookstores... I picked up the latest volume of Vampire Knight (and I'm still rooting for Yuki/Zero even though I do kinda like Kaname). I also got a few magazines and a copy of Anne frank: The Diary of a Young Girl. I read it before in High School and I really liked it and it's one of those books that's a must have.

Later that afternoon, I was gonna watch some DVD's, but I was running out of room in my media cabinet, so I went through some of my old video tapes and got rid of what I didn't need anymore. My MST's and Star Trek however are forbidden from being touched.

I started watching volume two of The Office. My favorite episode thus far has top be the one with the fire drill and where Dwight takes the bottle of water from the top of the water cooler and tosses water in the hallway then proceeds to crawl on his stomach to the exit. HAR!!

Mom spent most of Sunday at the tire place getting her tires changed and then at my aunt's helping her clean for Christmas. Early? For most people, yes. My aunt is the queen of Christmas. She has over half a dozen different trees, each with it's own theme. It's all very lovely, but a lot of work.

It's still not to late to send me your full name and your year of birth for a little gifty thing I'm doing. It works best if I have more people. So far I only have two of you. Let's get on the ball, peoples!!!

And finally, a meme I swiped from [livejournal.com profile] flamika:

The Best Bleach Boyfriend for You
Your Result: Kurosaki Ichigo

You secretly desire a guy who you'll hate on your first date. His impeccable style and general coolness will drive you nuts. Against your better judgment you'll still go out with him even if you do nothing but argue. He'll be aloof and standoffish, but somehow along the way he'll show you his tender side without too many words. Once he falls for you, he will fall hard, so beware. Even when you try to get rid of him, he'll just stalk you to the ends of the earth, beat down on your defenses, and make you his. Be prepared for a lifetime of passion and heroics: it's going to be one wild ride.

It caaaaaaame!!!!! I have it sitting on my bet ATM, still in the box since I need to decide where to put it. I know mom wants to play some of the WiiSports games, but the living room is used a lot and I'd never have a chance to play any of my other games. In the meantime, my bedroom has the privacy (so I can move and lunge like a loon), but small space. I think I might be able to swing it, though.

And, like a dork, I took pictures...

Yesterday, I got the cables and my other two games Bleach: Shattered Blade and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. My Zelda: Twilight Princess is on backorder... The combo deal I got also came with WiiPlay, which is kinda like the Sports one, but it has pool, table tennis and target shooting. It also comes with an extra controller.

Work was pretty much the same. I got off early so I could go to the bank and then the rental office where my package was. Tomorrow we're going to a lovely tea luncheon, which I'm looking forward to. The last one I went to was a Ladies Tea when we went with grandma.

Mom's getting her tires changed after church on Sunday, which she'd been wanting to do for awhile now. And, we made our reservations at the B&B in St. Augustine! *squees* I'm so excited!!

Anyway, there's still time to respond to my previous post. And you can send replies to my yahoo e-mail addy.

So I'm gonna browse through my FL and then open up my Wii and try to set it up.

Soooo, I went to Best Buy yesterday since they had an ad in the newspaper for Wiis. Needless to say, I crapped out. I could've gone early in the morning and not gone to church, but I think that would've been frowned upon. Besides, even if I had, there would be no guarantee I'd have gotten one.

So I resorted to what I should've done in the fist place: order online. It should be arriving sometime this week, I hope. I was able to order the Bleach game as well as the Zelda Twilight Princess one.

I bought a few DVD's while I was there at any rate. I got a few anime ones, like the Hellsing Ultimate and Kokumono (both of which, ironically, distributed by Geanon, so any further disks are gonna be nada). I found the Muppet Show too!!! *squee* I used to watch that show all. the. time! I also found the Special Edition of Serenity also.

Most of this weekend was spent at home. I watched the first season of The Office. I laughed. A lot! Especially during the basketball episode with Dwight's headgear! Harrrrr!!

Well, today at work seemed to be back to normal. We had to use our PTO time unfortunately... I was trying to stock up since we're gonna be taking some time off around the holidays. *grumble* So now I'm in the negative zone... AGAIN! It's nothing like the twilight zone, believe me.

One of our neighbors is moving out. Since we've been here, all the people who lived here when we came have all left. I guess that's the way it is in apartments.

Well, I think that's all for now. Ta-taaaaa!!

I'm posting mostly to inform everyone I'm still alive and kicking. I mean, things didn't get that bad or anything.

Today was a little bit better... until the very end of the day when I had a major problem that I didn't know how to fix and the ones who I go to for help had already left for the day. Luckily my "office mate" was still there and helped me. I hope tomorrow will go without any hitches whatsoever...

My search for a Wii is proving to be difficult. I can't even find a way to buy it online! What gives?

It seems we're gonna have to delay our trip to Islands of Adventure for a few weeks. Money issues. As long as we still do it, I'm pretty OK.

The Sunday after my birthday we were invited to a Baby Shower for my second cousin as well as a birthday party. I knew no one in my family would do anything for my birthday. They never do. I mean, mom tries to do something for me and I appreciate that, but no one else does. I'm used to getting the shaft when it comes to my family. It doesn't mean it still doesn't hurt.

So since our theme park trip has been postponed, mom said she'd take me to The Melting Pot for desert fondue! The S'more one is my favorite.

Friday! Yay!!

Anyway, I stopped by mom's work so she could help me sort out my benefits package. I decided to get basic medical coverage as well as dental (I have a cavity) and vision. I also got Life Insurance (hey, you never know). I have to "re-negotiate" in January, in which I'll probably switch some things out. It takes effect at the beginning of August. I have to turn my paperwork into HR on Monday.

I'm going to look into getting my Wii soon. I dunno if I'll decide to go online and get it (like I did my laptop and my iPod) or go into a store. The store don't seem to have any. I do want to do a few errands on Saturday... possibly. I do want to swing by the comic shop because I'm missing my latest issue of Buffy.

I did manage to pick up a few manga titles yesterday. Samurai Deeper Kyo 23 and Trinity Blood 3. Still no Hellsing 8. But then, Dark Horse has a tendency to be late a lot of the times... I might post about them on [livejournal.com profile] ryudoshi eventually.

Wow, I never expected to get over 40 responses to my Pod People post on [livejournal.com profile] mst3k. Kewl!

I'm still trying to narrow down where I wanna go for my birthday: Disney/MGM Studios or Islands of Adventure. Now keep in mind, this is hinged on where the "Build You Own Lightsaber" exhibit is. I know it's Disney, but I don't know if it's in the park itself or not. Should I post a poll on this?

Well, tomorrow mom and I are going to go see Ratatouille sometime which I'm kinda excited about because it looks really cute.
