snapdragon76: this is made of win and awesome (Jin -- teh hotness (????))
The aura of death lingers in the air. One of the cats died last night. Not one of our cats, but the cat of the lady we're living with. He had kidney problems and was slowly wasting away. To us, it seemd inevitable he wouldn't last very long. And he didn't. Mom said she'd bury him when she gets home. Right now he's lying in his bed.

Today is going to be somewhat busy for me. I have a number of things I want to do. Like scan a picture, make some more icons, maybe work on the Jyuunishi bookmarks I have an idea to make, start on my resume, ect...

I made a new Kureno/Uo icon yesterday. It's not too bad. I mean, yeah, I've seen better, but for me, it's decent. Better than the first one I made, which is kinda plain. Today, I'm gonna make some Star Wars ones. I'm not gonna post 'em on here, because I want to wait and build some up, so I can post on my graphics journal, [livejournal.com profile] starshine76.

I saw a brief summary for ch. 122 of Furuba on FG. Intense! But there's a scene just ooozing with squeeness! And Kureno's OK, so that's good to hear. But the next one doesn't come out until March. MARCH!!! How cruel!

I watched all of my Sam Cham DVD's yesterday. So I'm pretty much caught up, except for the last disk, which I still need to get sometime. I think I'll get it from Amazon instead of hustling down to Best Buy. There's also a calendar there I want.

Well, I'm gonna check out my FL and get crackin' on the stuff I want to get done today.

Today's subject line is from the short "20th Century Calling." A little crass maybe due to the first paragraph, but oh well... just don't shoot me for it.

Trivia of the day: The Magnum XL-200 in Ohio was the first roller coaster to crack the 200-foot height barrier. <--- I've actually been on this one!!

ETA: Where's my hyper mood icon!!! I know it's there you bastards!!!

Well, I was successful in my hunt for a cell phone cover. It's plain black, but it serves it's purpose. Kureno and Hatori are still on there, but they're nice and protected and as long as I know they're there, that's all that matters. And Hello Kitty is still able to peek out from the top.

While I was at the mall, I found the hat I was looking for. I really like it. It looks kinda... jaunty. It's really cute. I also bought 'SamCham' vol 6 (anime) and FMA vol. 5 (manga). Not a bad haul if I do say so. When I was in Best Buy, I got to play with an Ipod Nano. The lust for one is still there. I tried looking for the 'Veronica Mars' First Season set, so I could price it, but it wasn't there. Also, the copy of 'Serenity' that was there was the Full Screen version instead of a Widescreen. I want it in Widescreen.

On Antiques Roadshow last night, a guy brought in a set of insense holders... in the shape of the 12 animals of the zodiac! I was very good in containing myself, since mom would wonder why I'd be so freaked. They were made in Japan in the mid-1800's. The appraiser said they'd probably be worth between $6,000 to $8,000! Cool.

Well, I have some CD's I need to burn and I also need to load the Money program so I can access the info I need for taxes (ugh).

I will also be camping out by the mail box waiting for the tatsudoshi necklace [livejournal.com profile] flamika sent my way. *vibrates with excitement*

Trivia of the day: The world’s largest and finest natural green diamond is the 41-carat Dresden Green. The Dresden, owned since the 1700s by the Electors of Saxony, is surrounded by white diamonds in gold and silver settings.

Wow. I had gotten used to working and now, all of a sudden I'm not (see previous entry for details). Not that I mind, entirely but I need the money. I guess maybe I'm not supposed to be working right now so I can get stuff around the house ready for moving. I mean, today I plan on going to the bank to deposit my last paycheck, pick up some empty boxes, and try to go to the bookstores to apply for jobs. Maybe since the holidays are coming up, they'll be able to hire more people. *crosses fingers*

I took some pictures of the stuff I had gotten from Japan, but my Image Transfer isn't working again. I've also been trying to work on a SDK icon, but so far, I haven't had any luck. Maybe I should step aside for a bit on that one.

I've been watching some of my SamCham DVD's. I only got one episode in before I had to stop and do other stuff. Maybe I'll be able to watch more today.

After work today, mom and I are planning on visiting a friend of ours who's moving to Sarasota. He mom and uncle have a dance studio over there. They did have one here, but Frances destroyed it, so they moved to Sarasota. Since her uncle owed the house she lived in, she had to move out. She wanted to find one here, but couldn't (boy, do I know that problem).

There's supposed to be a hurricane headed our way this weekend. Just when we though we were out, they drag us back in! *snicker* Hopefully there won't be a lot of damage, even though we're supposed to be moving.

I think I may have figured out why my computer is so slow in the mornings. If mom's been on it before, she leaves it on for me later on. While I appreciate it, it kinda goes to sleep and doesn't really want to 'wake up.' So yesterday I restarted it and it seemed to do better. Also, my Virus Protection seems to be wanting to scan every time. I made sure I did a full scan the other day so maybe it wouldn't do it anymore. But it still does. *sighs in exasperation*

I splurged a little yesterday. I bought the first three DVD's of 'SamCham'. The fourth one is supposed to be out already and the fifth one is coming soon. I also went to the bookstore for a bit and I saw a new book I want. It's a Star Wars book, but it's not a novel. It's going on my growing Christmas list...

I watched a few episodes of Fushigi Yuugi again in the original Japanese this time. It was different. I'm not used to watching anime in Japanese. I know, I know I'm not considered by many to be a true anime fan, but who cares. But I told [livejournal.com profile] elantis I would watch it in Japanese and I am.

I've been slogging through some old posts on CLASP so I can copy some of my posts onto Word. I wanted to get some of them copied down yesterday, but I didn't have time. But I did make progress in that I'm very close to where I left off...

I took my shower last night so I wouldn't have to worry about it this morning. Plus it gives me more time in the morning for being on here...

Oh, how I don't miss it. Of course, once I get into the workforce, I'll not have summers off. That's a mite dissapointing, but I can deal.

Not much happened this weekend. Both mom and I were lazy. We just stayed inside on Saturday. I watched 'Pride and Predjudice'... again. Love it! Sunday we went to church and did our errands. I bought some coolant, but we're gonna recruit some help in getting it in the car since we have to drain the radiator and all sorts of stuff. So no going anywhere for awhile. *sigh*

Well, 'TriMax' 6 is out and so is RK 17 and 'Saiyuki Reload.' Man, where is everyone getting these? Why do my bookstores have to be behind on everything!

Since I don't know when I'll be able to purchase my 'SamCham' DVD's, I'm taping the episodes since they're being re-aired on [adult swim]. But I do definitely plan on buying them eventually. I must get my fix of Jin... *droool*

Some more memes I came across. Don't worry, they're not surveys or anything...

I watched 'Moulin Rouge' on TV again last night. And I cried. Again. I'm such a romantic sap. I really liked they way they did the songs. I especially liked to song towards the end. The Lover's Secret Song that Christian and Satine sang. It has the lyrics "It's like I've never seen the sky before." I wonder what it's called...

It rained yesterday. I was glad since we've been having a bit of a dry spell of about a month.

I need to go and pick up applications to the bookstores. I'm not gonna wimp out, you hear me dammit!! And I want to stop by Best Buy and see how many DVD's of 'Samurai Champloo' have been released. That's the next series I'm gonna get yet I still haven't picked up 'Witch Hunter Robin' which has my honey Amon in it. I think it might have something to do with that tart Robin...

I have a couple of boxes of stuff from school I need to go through since they've been sitting in the hallway for almost 3 years. Eh heh. One of them is probably nothing but magazines...

I read Furuba 11 yesterday. Any in depth comments I'll save for [livejournal.com profile] ryudoshi (as well as IR 6 stuff). I did really like this volume. It was very intense and revealed a lot of stuff. Akito was very prominent in it. We also officially meet Rin. I liked how when Tohru went to fetch Rin some clothes (after she transformed back into her human form), she was thinking to herself "I get the feeling my clothes wont fit her. I really get that feeling." I had to chuckle at that. I thought, "Well, probably not since Rin is a whole lot... chestier than Tohru." And of course, Yuki's impression that Rin transformed through force of will.

I've been trying to get my cordless optical mouse to work again, but I'm still having problems. I miss my cordless mouse...

Wilst I was lurking, I came across many interesting 'Samurai Champloo' links. Of course, this has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that I absolutely lust over adore Jin...

Someone on the [livejournal.com profile] _champloo comm. posted this. I know which one I want...

This site has super cool wallpapers. Again, guess which one I have gracing my desktop?

I saw the newest issue of 'Shojo Beat' out in the bookstore yesterday. I didn't get it just then since I had other things I had to do, but I have to go out again today (despite what I said yesterday), so I'll probably pick it up then.

I found the Image Ready program on my harddrive. I made a shortcut icon on my desktop so I can have easy access in order to fiddle with it more. I think I have a basic idea of what I want to do. I think, instead of making a really complex one, I'll try and do a lyric icon. I still have much reading up on it to do.

I recieved my birthday gifts from my dad yesterday. Even though I technically know what they are already, mom still says I have to wait until tomorrow to actually open them.

I've thought of another contest idea for the [livejournal.com profile] vash_meryl comm, but I need to wait until [livejournal.com profile] vashysgirl finishes the graphic for the background.
