snapdragon76: this is made of win and awesome (Jin -- OMG!!!! *drool* (hysteriagalore))
Oh, how I don't miss it. Of course, once I get into the workforce, I'll not have summers off. That's a mite dissapointing, but I can deal.

Not much happened this weekend. Both mom and I were lazy. We just stayed inside on Saturday. I watched 'Pride and Predjudice'... again. Love it! Sunday we went to church and did our errands. I bought some coolant, but we're gonna recruit some help in getting it in the car since we have to drain the radiator and all sorts of stuff. So no going anywhere for awhile. *sigh*

Well, 'TriMax' 6 is out and so is RK 17 and 'Saiyuki Reload.' Man, where is everyone getting these? Why do my bookstores have to be behind on everything!

Since I don't know when I'll be able to purchase my 'SamCham' DVD's, I'm taping the episodes since they're being re-aired on [adult swim]. But I do definitely plan on buying them eventually. I must get my fix of Jin... *droool*

Some more memes I came across. Don't worry, they're not surveys or anything...

Where do you go to school?
Date/Time: 2005-08-08 16:51 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] snapdragon76.livejournal.com
I don't anymore. I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. However, that's not necessarily an open invitaion for employers, I guess...
Date/Time: 2005-08-08 16:53 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] soleta-nf.livejournal.com
Aw, that's too bad. I've heard that business people like people who have backgrounds in psychology - you know the human mind for things like marketing, etc. Good luck with your job search!
Date/Time: 2005-08-08 17:45 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] snapdragon76.livejournal.com
Really? I must not be looking in the right place then.

Thanks.

Yeah, you should talk to a career counsellor or someone at the student job centre (if you have one where you are) and they can tell you more. :)

I'll have to see...

I don't know if there are any where I am. I'm sure there are,but I have to find out where exactly.

Yellow pages! Check out your old College, too. You may get a discount for being a recent graduate.

Yellow Pages is a good idea.

I don't know how so recent. I graduated three years ago...

They might give you a discount for being an alumni. Worth checking into anyway!

Slytherin, eh... *eyes suspiciously*

And Auror. OK, I admit to not knowing what that is exactly.

And have you picked up the newest one yet? I'm waiting for paperback (even though I cheated and know what basically happens already).
Date/Time: 2005-08-09 16:00 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] soleta-nf.livejournal.com
An auror is someone who fights the Death Eaters and other evil wizards. (The equivalent to the CIA or something.)
Date/Time: 2005-08-09 16:49 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] snapdragon76.livejournal.com
Cool! Yeah, I think he'd like that!

(this is my dad, BTW).
Date/Time: 2005-08-09 16:55 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] soleta-nf.livejournal.com
Ohhhhh. Neat! I don't think I'd let my family read my LJ. ;)
Date/Time: 2005-08-09 17:11 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] snapdragon76.livejournal.com
He's the only one I allow to do so.

Nice! He must be a pretty awesome dad. :)

Yeah, he's pretty neat.

Yes, Slytherin, but I'm one of the good guys. I haven't learned how to speak parseltongue.

An Auror is a wizard who has enough power to guard against the Dark Lord. In order to become an Auror, one must get a perfect score in one's O.W.L.s.

Yes, we have the last book on tape and I have listened to it. It's very good and makes me hunger for the final book.
Date/Time: 2005-08-09 18:31 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] snapdragon76.livejournal.com
So I guess this is a good opportunity to use my Snape icon again, eh.

Oh, and you simply must check out the 'Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban' summary on [livejournal.com profile] m15m. It's a side-splitter.

Ahhh, I see. Well, that's sounds pretty cool. Did I mention I'm the Minister of Magic? *sticks out tounge*

See, I just got OotP in paperback. I really need to get a reading marathoin a goin' but time likes to run aways from me. I try not to spook it, but...
Date/Time: 2005-08-09 18:38 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] dbates.livejournal.com
Sure. Go ahead and use it. Just keep in mind that I, being a dutiful Auror and all that, may steal it...for the good of the Order, you understand.

I think I did read that when you posted something about it a few weeks ago, or at least I *think* it was the same site.

Minister of Magic, eh? Nothing wrong with that. If I recall correctly, the Aurors actually work for the Ministry of Magic. And it isn't nice to stick out your tongue.

If you haven't listened to any of the Potter books on tape, you're missing real entertainment. One guy, Jim Dale, does all the voices of all the characters - over 100 of them - and he does them well. We both got engrossed in them.

Fine. Fine. Just keep in mind I didn't make it...

Cool. I just want to pimp it out a few more times since it's really cool and all...

Who are you, my father? Oh, wait. Never mind... j/k

I think they're on CD too. Well, one of these days I'll read 'em by gum!!

*shakes fist in air in defiance*
Date/Time: 2005-08-10 14:15 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] dbates.livejournal.com
Consider it swiped...One of these days, I'm gonna have to have you give me a primer on how to make those things.

You must be thinking of Darth Vader. That's a whole different fantasy.

They are on CD, but those cost a lot more. You'll get 'em read. I have complete confidence in you.
Date/Time: 2005-08-10 14:21 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] snapdragon76.livejournal.com
Just give the props to [livejournal.com profile] cleolinda.

You should check out [livejournal.com profile] potterpuffs. The girl who runs it makes images of the HP characters rendered like The Powerpuff Girls. It's really cool!

To make some of mine, I use the PS 7 you sent me (along with massive help from [livejournal.com profile] icon_tutorial. A lot of the ones I did I through trial and error.

This one I used is one I made a few months ago. Before that, I pretty much sucked. I next want to try and tacle animated ones.

Oh, I know I'll get them read eventually. I'm reading quite a few books at the moment... a-heh.
Date/Time: 2005-08-10 14:36 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] dbates.livejournal.com
I used to make icons in Paintbrush. They were pretty crude, but they worked. Trial and error isn't all bad. It's a great way to learn.

I probably shouldn't tell you this, but at the Elkhart County Fair a couple of weeks ago, there was a vendor there selling all kinds of trading cards and the like. He had a whole bunch of them with those Anime characters on them that you like. One of them I remember was Fruits Basket, which I've seen you mention several times.

*blubbers*

*lower lip wibbles*

I forgive you though...

Sorr..eeee!!

Gosh, I didn't realize this would be so traumatic for you. Glad you forgave me though.

If I ever see them again, I'll see about picking them up for you.
