The thermometer has taken a bit of a dip. I mean, I wanted the weather to cool down some, but I expected it to happen gradually.

More filing today. Although I am starting to get a hang of the indexing program used to keep track of the charts and where they are. A good chunk of my afternoon was spent helping one of the ladies rearrange some of the charts sop that there could be more room and so they could be a bit more organized. However, there is still a limited amount of space. We had to move the stereo that's in there on one of the shelves and we lost the reception, so no music. *sniff* My fingers are starting to complain about it because of the paper cuts they've been receiving. Poor fingers.

Mom's coming down with a cold I think. She lost her voice today and since she talks on the phone the majority of the day, it kinda sucked for her. Hopefully she'll feel a bit better tomorrow. And if she gives whatever it is to me, I will mercifully put her out of her misery.

It's off to drink the vaguely citrus-y concoction of AirBorne to stave off those nasty little buggers.

Trivia of the day: Turkey’s largest city, Istanbul, played a central role in Greek history. Called Constantinople, it was capital of the Byzantine Empire. The name Istanbul was not officially adopted until 1930.

Work was good yesterday. I mean, I basically do data entry. Maybe I should add that to my Monster.com profile... Anyway, I might think about bringing a radio or something to listen to as I work. Maybe it'll help the time go by a little easier.

And I was a busy little bunny yesterday. I made some more icons. I think I might've figured out how to do the desaturate thing. Anyway, I followed a tutorial and fiddled around a bit. Mom might've gotten a wee bit annoyed with me at the time since I was supposed to go get dinner. *sweatdrop* Well, anyway, here is the results:

The images are from a comic series I used to read called 'Meridian.' I had found them when going through a bunch of my disks and found 'em. I like the first one better only because the image itself was light enough to really work well. I still need to figure out a good way to use some brush effects I have.

Last night, after having gotten dinner (at McDonald's. Yes, I know, I'm bad), I bit into my sandwitch only to find... no patty. I was like, "WTF?" So I swiped some of mom's fries to compensate. Hey, she said I could.

OK, it seems I've gotten to the point where I might have to spill the beans about Akito to Stampers. Normally I'd be willing to wait until it came out in the English volumes, but since that's a fair ways away and she's begun asking questions, I might have to break down and do it. I did tell [livejournal.com profile] elantis, and she's very good at keeping it secret. Of course, I did make her take a blood oath... ~_^

I think my speakers might be working again... somewhat. *sighs in frustration* I wish they'd cooperate more...

I think I'm getting to the point at work where I might have to come into work and hour or so earlier for something called 'cycle counting.' I think it has something to do with visual inventory and it needs to be done before the shop opens. *flails*

And now, meme time!

Yesterday was definitely better. I was given an assignment and left to my own devices. Basically I was making a catalogue of the types of strings we sell. My boss later told my mom that he thought it was something that would take at least a week, but I finished it in a day. He was very impressed (as he told my mom later at a church function that I didn't go to). But I'm pretty sure there will always be something for me to do.

My computer seems to be cooperating this morning. I'll see how far I get into my FL, though. My speakers are working again, to my enormous delight. I was watching something on Homestar Runner yesterday and I turned up my speaker button just on the off chance that I could actually hear the dialogue. And lo and behold, I could hear! It was a miracle!

I was able to catch the season finale replay of 'Everwood.' I saw the moment that made me squee. You know the one with Bright and Hannah towards the end. It was in my icon I used yesterday.

*squees again*

Sometimes having to go to bed earlier really bites. I was watching a movie on TV last night and because it was on later, I had to go to bed before it was over. I was pretty upset. I'll have to rent it sometime...

I'm beginning to rethink this whole employment gig. Not that I couldn't use the money, but the whole 'getting up early, trying to figure out what to do for lunch, finding something to wear' is beginning to get to me. I guess I'm just stressed from yesterday. I've been working on a brochure for the guitar lessons that are held at the shop and trying to get all the needed information in a small space isn't easy. Plus, I have to include little bios and I don't know anything about the instuctors so I'm not sure about what I have to cut and what needs to stay. Plus, I'm not overly familiar with Publisher so that adds to the stress and confusion.

Don't mind me, I'm just venting a bit.

I don't think my computer likes mornings anymore than I do. I was catching up on my FL yesterday after work and it seemed to work better. Still, I might get the squeaky hammer just for the hell of it.

There's this thing going on at church tonight. It's a Worship Team open house. I probably should go since I'm technically a member of the Worship Team -- I'm part of the tech team. Like how I did that there. I'm probably not though since for one thing, I went to a thing earlier this week and I really don't feel like going again and secondly, it's the season finale repeat of 'Everwood' and I don't really want to miss it.

Finally, a meme I snagged from [livejournal.com profile] elantis:

Hopefully my computer will cooperate with me enough to enable me to read through my FL in it's entirety. I wasn't able to yesterday. *sigh* *stabs computer*

[livejournal.com profile] zelamenomiko suggested gettting one of those toy squeaky hammers to thwack it with. I may take her up on it.

I finished my online stuff at work and now I'm working on a brochure for the lessons that we have there. I really have to stretch my creative muscles and they're not sure they want to be stretched. I have to figure out what I'm going to take for lunch, 'cause I'm a little sick of PB&J...

I got my stuff from 'Body Works.' So now I have the pleasing yet subtle aroma of nummy coconut. In fact, I used to buy suntan lotion just for the scent...

We went to a birthday party yesterday. We had BBQ pork. It was really good, too. The cake was from Marble Slab Creamery. Yummers! Vanilla with Oreo's.

I woke up twice last night! Blargh! I hate it when the happens. And I was really thirsty both times for some reason. Strange.

A quick post before I head into work (wow, that sounds weird). I don't have to be in until 10:00 so I have some time. I've been getting up an hour earlier than I usually do (which is about 8:00). I also have to figure out what I'm going to wear day after day. I mean, I can get away with wearing jeans since I'm in the back room and everyone seems pretty casual as it is. I may have to get some more things, though. I can't exactly wear shorts. I used to wear one thing for a few days since I didn't really need to go anywhere (hey, don't give me that look. I still kept clean). It's a hard routine for me to get used to since I've been unemployed for a little over three years. *wimper* But I will eventually. I hope...

I'm not taking my lunch today since I'm going to go and get something. Probably at the Chinese place that's in the same strip (which is my favorite, BTW). I still plan on bringing a snack so I don't go crazy and start to hallucinate or something. I still want to do some stretches though, from time to time. Get the ol' blood flowin' a bit.

Maybe I need to make me a Workin' Girl icon of some sort...

Well, it's been my second day as a working girl. The second day was better. Yesterday I was way drained. You'd thinking working in a guitar shop would be way cool. Well, it's not all that glamourous. For one thing, I'm stuck waaay in a windowless backroom, literally hunched over a laptop for hours at a stretch. Since the websites inventory hadn't been updated for four months, there was quite abit to do. I finished updating the current inventory today and then I started on the stuff that's going to be ordered. Basically so when they do get ordered, the radio button can be moved from "Out of stock" to "In Stock." The owner (my boss, basically) said he'd order me a better chair over the weekend. I've been sitting on a folding chair that's too low for the desk I sit at. It'll make things a lot better. At the moment, I've been getting up from time to time and stretching and it seems to help. Maybe I wouldn't get so twitchy if I could sit more comfortably. Hopefully my wrist wont get too aggrivated sitting in the position I have been.

I've also made sure to bring a snack with me. I don't get so lethargic during the day. I did notice I was getting a bit punchy towards the end of the day and I tend to make a few more mistakes (which I plan on fixing).

But so far it's not so bad. I mean, eventually I'll need to get a job that has insurance due to my medical condition, but in the meantime I'll be fine.

Here's the site if you're curious: J Michael Instruments

I'll still try to get on and post everyday. Depending on my hours it'll either be in the morning or in the evening (like now).

The girl we had the birthday dinner for last week is probably going to ask me to hang out and go to the movies with her this weekend. I'm all for that! Whoo!!!
