snapdragon76: this is made of win and awesome ('Tora -- spreadin' the love (xskadi))
Why yes, I am in fact, posting early today. We all got off about two hours earlier today, so as soon as the clock hit 3:00, I lit out. It feels nice, actually. *bliss*

My bookmarks were a hit, to which I'm glad. I still have to figure out how to fiddle with my printer so I can actually print stuff off of it from PrintMaster...

My plans for tomorrow are, aside from vacuuming the floors, to do as little as possible. I got all my Christmas gifts wrapped and under the tree and all my cards sent out, so there's not much I need to do, really. Mom needs to borrow my car to do "errands" of her own. *snickers* Maybe I can watch my anime backlog...

Oh, and [livejournal.com profile] toriru4ever, whenever we hash out a time to meet, I'll have something for you. I hope you like! ^____^

To [livejournal.com profile] pathseeker, I apologize for how things went down yesterday. Maybe we both need to take a bit of a breather for awhile. I do hope you find what you're looking for. I truly believe there is someone out there for you, just keep hanging in there. Just remember, I'll still be here in case you need anything. I still hope we can be friends...

And, in case I don't hear from any of you anytime soon, Merry Christmas!!

Trivia of the day: The poem commonly known as The Night Before Christmas was originally titled "A Visit From Saint Nicholas". This poem was written by Clement Moore for his children and some guests, one of whom anonymously sent the poem to a New York newspaper for publication.

It's Friday! And payday!!! Of course, I came close to not getting paid at all since my paycheck was sent to my old building rather than the one I'm at now. But things got cleared up and I can go to the bank tomorrow and drop it off at the night deposit.

Friday's also when things tend to be slower at work. The doctor's are out of the office and it's just the Nurse Practitioners and so the charts to scan are fewer. So I played Solitaire for a good portion of the day to try to look semi-busy.

I want to go and get some new pants for work tomorrow. I have mostly jeans and I can't wear them to work. I saw a few in at The Gap last weekend so those are possibilities. I also need to get my nice watch fixed since it stopped running. I need to find a time to go to the bookstore and look for the new manga releases. November's gonna be a big month for that.

Hmmm, nothing much else to report on at the moment. Situation normal.

Trivia of the day: Bore-hole seismometry indicates that the land in Oklahoma moves up and down 25cm throughout the day, corresponding with the tides. Earth tides are generally about one-third the size of ocean tides.

Apparently my Photo Shop-fu was working overtime yesterday and I cranked out three lovelies. Wanna see? Oh, OK. You don't have to twist my arm...

1. Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting 2. Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

I made those in response to my post a couple of days ago. I kinda get a kick out of 'em.

Those two I did yesterday. However, I will put up one I made a couple of months ago and feel like showing off:

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

One of Jacen and Tenel Ka. I think it turned out pretty good.

And... the coup de gras:

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

*gigglesnort*

I like the way this came out, actually. I had to blur a lot of the background due to the fact there were other elements on it. But, it created a cool effect, so I was pretty good.

I was watching 'Revenge of the Sith' earlier and something struck me. If Qui-Gon showed Yoda the Force Spirit technique, and he in turn showed it to Obi-Wan, who showed Anakin? I mean, at the end of 'Return of the Jedi' there he is, all Force Spirity. At the time Yoda was showing Obi-Wan, Anakin was completing his transformation as Darth Vader. Curious. I've never seen it explained anywhere.

Today we have a spaghetti dinner to go to in order to support the youth at our church's annual CIY trip. Of course, I think mom makes the best spaghetti, but I may be a bit a biased.

We're planning on going to my aunt's for Father's Day on Sunday. I need to send Dad an e-mail with my best wishes. Other than that, I have no idea what the weekend holds. I guess we'll have to see.

Trivia of the day: Twentieth Century-Fox studio cut all scenes showing physical contact between America's curly-haired darling Shirley Temple and Bill "Bojangles" Robinson in "The Little Colonel" in 1934 to avoid social offense and to assure wide U.S. distribution. Pre-release showings of the film, particularly in the southern U.S., shocked audiences when the two actors touched fingers during their famous staircase dance sequence.

I've got a ton of stuff I need to do today.

For instance, I need to drop off our rent check, get gas, drop of the cable bill, get some minor groceries, get mom's birthday card and possibly eat lunch. On top of that, I'm also doing laundry and need to call/stop by the temp agency sometime today. "Stop the world! I wanna get off!"

I was on a bishie banner making frenzy yesterday. I've gotten quite a few of them done, and a few I have to make yet. Anyway, I'm all set for at least a little while anyway.

Tomorrow is our church's family picnic. Mom and I are in charge of the water balloons. Heh heh. After there, we're going to my aunt's for a birthday cookout. So tomorrow is gonna be busy. Which reminds me, I need to shave or else I'll start to look like Jocko the Woodswoman.

We dropped the truck we borrowed yesterday. First we washed it in the automatic car wash. That thing is pretty nifty. (I washed mine as well since we were there). We headed to the drop off point, when mom said she forgot to get gas, so I parked my car and we headed off. She got some gas, but when she started the engine, the needle didn't go all the way to full, so she turned it off and put more gas in it. Like about 6.5 (24.6L) gallons worth. We then went back and dropped it off and we went to Another friend's of our to drop off the keys to give back to the owner once they returned. Then we went home. I told her that the whole situation was like a comedy of errors or something.

Trivia of the day: If an object has no molecules, the concept of temperature is meaningless. That's why it's technically incorrect to speak of the "cold of outer space" — space has no temperature, and is known as a "temperature sink," meaning it drains heat out of things.

I. RULE!! I was finally able to figure out what was wrong with the .torrents I downloaded. It seems the player I had (Windows Media Player) would play them after I uploaded them from the client (or however it works). I would only her the sound, not the picture. So after I vented some, I went to take a closer look at the player, thinking I needed to adjust something. As it so happens, I discovered the problem on the website. WMP doesn't have the codec to play .avi files. It even said you could hear the audio and not see the video. So, after my "Ah-ha" moment, I did some searching and found a player that had the proper codec. I downloaded it, installed it and started to play. At first I was a bit worried, since I still didn't see any video, then after a few minutes, it came up. I nearly did handsprings. So, I settled in and watched the episode of 'Veronica Mars' that I missed. The quality was really good, too. It was HDTV! And no commercials. The audio/video was sometimes out of synch, but it wasn't too bad and it got cleared up eventually.

So anyway... Read more... )

Well, today might be my last day of 'freedom' so I'm going to enjoy it while I can. We have dinner tonight (after we take a look at the duplex) and tomorrow there's a company picnic for where mom works being held at the zoo and she wants to go to that. Me, I'm "ehhh" about it. Plus, sometime, we're going to stop in at Old Navy so I can get some shorts. I only have about three pair I can wear. And here, in the summer, they're a necessity.

I hope everyone has a good weekend!!

Trivia of the day: President William Howard Taft was a seventh cousin twice removed of Richard M. Nixon, and was a distant relative of Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Just a quick post before I have to go. But, naturally, my computer doesn't want to cooperate with me (what else is new).

Well, we may have good news in regards to the house. Our neighboors are interested in buying it. They're pretty decent folks and they wouldn't kick us out. As it is, I doubt we'd be able to buy it ourselves due to financial reasons, of course. So maybe things are looking up.

My friend wants to go to the movies this weekend. She wants to see 'Elizabethtown.' I said I wouldn't mind, since it has Orlando Bloom in it. I'll have to look up the show times. And hopefully I wont lose my license this time around...

And I finished reading 'No Limits.' I think I'll go into further detail on [livejournal.com profile] stnf.

I need to be sure to rememeber to watch my tapes I taped this week so I can have them ready for next week...
