I. RULE!! I was finally able to figure out what was wrong with the .torrents I downloaded. It seems the player I had (Windows Media Player) would play them after I uploaded them from the client (or however it works). I would only her the sound, not the picture. So after I vented some, I went to take a closer look at the player, thinking I needed to adjust something. As it so happens, I discovered the problem on the website. WMP doesn't have the codec to play .avi files. It even said you could hear the audio and not see the video. So, after my "Ah-ha" moment, I did some searching and found a player that had the proper codec. I downloaded it, installed it and started to play. At first I was a bit worried, since I still didn't see any video, then after a few minutes, it came up. I nearly did handsprings. So, I settled in and watched the episode of 'Veronica Mars' that I missed. The quality was really good, too. It was HDTV! And no commercials. The audio/video was sometimes out of synch, but it wasn't too bad and it got cleared up eventually.
So anyway... We learn a lot in this episode, actually. A lot more about Kendall and what involvement she may have in the bus crash. For one thing, her real name isn't Kendall. It's Priscilla Banks... and she's a convicted felon. She's a con artist and assumed the name of a girl she had gone to high school with that had been killed. It's believed she did so in order to hide her criminal past and make it easier to marry Richard Casablancas. Anyhow, it seems she also has a connection to the Fitzpatricks through Liam's brother who was her con partner. It seems she took extra time in prison to save him from additional time, so they owe her. Keith asks Veronica if she knew whether or not she had an alibi on the day of the bus crash. She knew she'd have to ask Logan, since more than likely he was "with her" that day. So she does, even though you can tell it's the last thing she wants to do. It turns out he was with "Kendall" on that day, but he had left hours beforehand. Now even though there was a bit of the LoVe snark we love, it was really a little bit and I was a little disapointed there wasn't more... *sighs* Best Line: Logan to Veronica, "Last year I made this townie girl moan without using my hands." I think we all know who he's refering to. :3
There was also a cute scene when Mac asks if Veronica could somehow recover her cell phone interceptor that was confiscated from her locker. "Apparently I'm now the psycho ex-girlfriend who's eavesdropping on all of Beaver's calls." I think she uses it for Veronica's cases instead of stalking Beaver. Or, as she puts it, "I'm the gadget person. You're the one with the espionage." Or something like that. But, in order for Veronica to retrieve it, she has to get in to the principal's office, which he changed the locks too. She asks Butters if he could get her in since he's the principal's son. He does... on one condition. Mac goes to the prom with him. Veronica agrees, however she doesn't tell Mac about it. So needless to say, Mac is completely bewildered when he starts to go on about the Prom. She has the best "WTF" look.
So, things are really getting close to the end. We have a slew of suspects in regards to the bus crash, so who knows how it all ties up. And I think Weevil knows Thumper was in the stadium when it blew. I wasn't 100% sure or not, but the hints he was dropping makes it seem likely.
Well, today might be my last day of 'freedom' so I'm going to enjoy it while I can. We have dinner tonight (after we take a look at the duplex) and tomorrow there's a company picnic for where mom works being held at the zoo and she wants to go to that. Me, I'm "ehhh" about it. Plus, sometime, we're going to stop in at Old Navy so I can get some shorts. I only have about three pair I can wear. And here, in the summer, they're a necessity.
I hope everyone has a good weekend!!

Trivia of the day: President William Howard Taft was a seventh cousin twice removed of Richard M. Nixon, and was a distant relative of Ralph Waldo Emerson.
