snapdragon76: *slurrrrp* (Tea!)
Well, here we are in the middle of November already. Everything seems to be going by so fast. We’ve already had some snow, the day after Halloween. Mom and I went to do some errands and it seems everyone was out that day too! So crowded! Most of the leaves of the maple tree in front of the house have already fallen. There are still quite a few trees full of color out there, however.

School is a little rough at present. We’re getting toward the end of the semester (last day of classes are December 4th). Right now, I’m struggling with trying to write a Literature Review for the Research Proposal we have to write, neither one I’ve ever done before. I’m trying to not go into full anxiety mode right now. It wouldn’t be a big deal except the Research Proposal is worth a full 50% of our total grade!! Yikes!
But, I’m trying to be Zen about the whole thing. It didn’t help matters any that I have three assignments due all on the same day. I don’t know how people who go to school full time and also work full time manage to do it. I applaud them.

I’m going to be writing up my Christmas/Holiday/Winter Season letter soon. If anyone on here would like me to send you one, please email me and let me know where to send it. My email address is danielle.bates32@gmail.com. Also if you’d like my address for cards as well.

Things are kinda tight money wise since neither one of us has a job. Mom is hoping to get her car fixed so that she can make a more serious effort to look for work. I’ll believe it when I see it. I did say I’d help her update her resume, and hopefully I can finish my classwork in order to help her out.

Peace out!

Even though this song is extremely scathing against what I assume to be a major public figure (at least, that's the gist I get from the lyrics), I still really like it…

Man, it was very windy today. There was a storm front today, so that was the major contributor of it. Needless to say, I thought of [livejournal.com profile] secondlina today and her penchant for wind. I myself like wind… within reason of course. A nice cool breeze is very nice, in fact. Hurricane force winds on the other hand, I can do without thankyouverymuch.

Work was fine today. I was feeling kinda "ugh" today, primarily due to a headache I was trying to fight. I even turned down an Olive Garden breadstick, and I love those! But, I was starting to feel better around 3:30 or so.

I have two weddings to go to within the next few weeks, so I want to try and go Wednesday and find a dress or skirt/top combo (with optional shoes). I mean, I have stuff I could probably wear, but I kinda wanna wear something new and different.

And, since I have yet to hear anything re the contest, I'm taking it as a sign I didn't win. *shrugs* Oh well. I still left my mark regardless.

Well, I think that's gonna be it for me tonight. I hope everyone has a pleasant weekend.

Word of the Day: obsequious

First of all, I want to thank everyone who left comments and condolences on my last post on the loss of my cat, Ori. It was greatly appreciated. A lot of people wouldn't have a great deal of sympathy for the loss of a pet, but they fail to realize that they're more than just an animal. They're a devoted companion and loyal friend. So thanks to all of you.

Secondly, Ernesto is coming our way, but he's been downgraded to a tropical depression, so it'll probably be the strength of a thunderstorm by the time it gets to us. Mom's work is closed today because they feared the worst. I think it was a little presumptuous of them, but I guess they figured better safe than sorry. So mom is home now going through some things in her bedroom.

I'll contact the Human Resources Department tomorrow and see where I stand employment-wise. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Of course, if I do get hired, I'll have to cut out my night owl activities...

I joined a new community called [livejournal.com profile] mp3_share where I can look for some music. I found some already. There are some songs I'm looking for, but I don't know if I want to place a request just yet or not...

Hopefully Ernesto won't knock out any power or anything. If so, well then I wont be online tomorrow probably. I doubt it, though.

Yesterday I've been burning some stuff from my computer onto CD-ROM's so that I can free up some space on my hard drive. There's some torrents I want to open up, but I need the space first. I'll finish more of it today.

Trivia of the day: Because microwave ovens cook so fast, microbes can survive on the surface of the food. To counteract this problem, cover the cooking dish with another dish of glass or ceramic, not plastic. The steam that accumulates will heat the surface, thus killing any surviving microscopic critters.
