snapdragon76: this is made of win and awesome (Jacen Solo)
WARNING-- Spoilers for Betrayal follows!!

The thing that I feared would happen appears to have happened. All I can say is...f***k!<--that's as close as I get to swearing, folks.

*siiigh* To say I'm seriously disappointed is an understatement. What the hell were the authors thinking when they came up with this scenario? I mean, I really like Jacen (AKA the 'Playboy of the SWU' due to the fact that roughly six different women have fallen in love with or felt a strong attraction to him. One of whom he had a child with. Not that I can necessarily blame them *points to her icon*).

Anyway, I do know that the Sith return in the 'Legacy of the Force' comic book series, but since it appears they were in existence before they recruited Jacen, why the hell did they have to play this card. I mean, I know they showed him 'vision of the devastating future' et al, but these are Sith. They lie and manipulate to get what they want. I mean, look at Palpy for Pete's sake! Ohhh, and what a coup to round up the grandson of Darth Vader.

All I can hope is that this is perhaps a ruse on Jacen's part. Kinda like the end of 'Angel' when Angel infiltrated the Circle of the Black Thorn in order to eventually destroy them. I mean, due to the comic series, it appears that the Sith aren't destroyed, but I'm still hoping for some sort of miracle, perhaps? I mean, maybe Jacen'll come to his senses before he fully completes the transition. What will happen to his relationships with his family? Tenel Ka? His daughter for Pete's sake? What will happen to the Solo bloodline? I mean, I know there's still Jaina, but she's not going to continue the Solo name once (and if) she gets married (although Zekk doesn't exactly have a last name. A-hem). What happened to the Jacen I used to know? The joke-cracking, animal-loving, adventure-seeking one?

I also kind of wonder if there's going to be a showdown between Luke and Jacen a lá Obi Wan and Anakin (although, admittedly, that fight between them kicked ass)?

Ooohh, how I weep for the future...

Sorry about my little rant, there. It's just I sort of get emotionally invested in certain characters I feel I've grown up with. Feel free to skip if you want to.

In other news, mom and I plan on going out to dinner with a friend of ours. The same friend from last week, actually that I missed going out with due to the ill-timed 'illness.' I think I'm gonna enjoy myself. I always like hanging out with this friend because she makes me laugh.

And, if the rain from Alberto lets up, I plan on working on a layout for someone at some point.

Trivia of the day: "Court bouillon" is a broth made by cooking various vegetables and herbs, traditionally used for poaching fish, seafood, or vegetables.

Even more so than I was when Anakin crossed over. I have more emotion invested in Jacen ever since the Young Jedi Knights series (which I have mentioned numerous times before). This reaction is coming from events in Betrayal. Now, I haven't officially read it yet, but I have seen spoilers and whatnot from others and things aren't boding well for the only remaining son of Han Solo and Princess Leia. Things are also looking grim for the relationship between him and Tenel Ka. Hmmm... I may have to stage a revolt.

Now that I've gotten that out of my system I can move on to the activities of my weekend.

Saturday:

The morning was spent filling up 150 water balloons for the church picnic. That was... interesting and a bit of a challenge to say the least. We loaded them into coolers in order to transport them. And filled water balloons can be pretty heavy.

The picnic itself was pretty nice. There were some activities. Like the dunk booth. That was fun to watch. Our youth minister was in it and the line up of kids wanting a chance to dunk him was pretty funny. And if they couldn't hit the target with their three balls, they go up and push it in. It was very cute. I treated myself to two sno-cones. Very tasty and refreshing. The water balloons were a big hit. In no time at all, all 150 of the ones we brought were gone. Of course, there were others, so the kids weren't too deprived. Despite the fact I applied sunscreen, I still got some sun.

When we went back home, I crashed for a bit. I have no idea how long I was out until mom woke me up to take my shower. I wasn't able to blow dry my hair and it looked like crap, but oh well.

We then went to my aunt's for my mom's cookout birthday. The grill was discovered to be out of propane, so the burgers had to be cooked on George, so it wasn't to bad. After eating, mm and my aunt went through some of grandma's old photo albums so the pictures could be divided or thrown away, depending. We stayed there until after midnight.

Sunday:

We had to get up earlier since we had to be there in order to set up the coffee for the fellowship time. Services had been changed to have just one Sunday School time and one service. I don't know how permanent it's going to be...

Anyway, between Sunday School and service, there's a fellowship period for about half an hour. Our Bible Study group is going to be responsible for setting it up and whatnot. Now I'm not familiar with the processes of coffee making since neither mom nor I drink it. Especially these industrial size coffee makers that we had to use. Basically it was trial by error. We had two. One for decaf and one for regular. Well, we filled them up and put the coffee in them (the measurements were on the sides of the coffee pots). Well, for some reason, the regular one didn't percolate and so no coffee was made. The water heated up, but not coffee. And we sure as hell didn't know why. So all we had was decaf. There were some pastries that were brought in as well. It seemed to be pretty popular, especially the pastries.

After service, we cleaned up and put things away... as much as we could anyway since we had no idea where the coffee pots went since they were already on the tables when we arrived earlier that morning.

So we went to pick up mom's prescription afterwards and then went home. I took another nap and spent the better part of the day not doing much of anything. I was really busy on Saturday, so all I really wanted to do was relax.

Today I have sheets to wash and some minor cleaning up to do.

Tonight is the finale of 'Everwood.' *sniffle*

*squee* I saw the color spread for Furuba chapter 128! *squish* It's adorable. It's of Kyo and Tohru. It seems this chapter may wrap up the feelings between them? Maybe. There are only about 2 or 3 left until the end. *sigh*

Well, to eat some Pocky or to not eat some Pocky. That's the question.

Trivia of the day: During the Middle Ages, almost all beef, pork, mutton, and chicken were chopped fine. Forks were unknown at the time and the knife was a kitchen utensil rather that a piece of tableware.
