snapdragon76: this is made of win and awesome (Fakiru - true love)
Well, gonna knock a post off before I have to take my shower...

Weekend was fairly uneventful, which is OK once in awhile. Didn't do anything Friday, so I'm not even gonna bother typing it out. I did get some labwork done, but that's hardly exciting...

Saturday was spent with me lounging at home watching the telly while mom went to the local nature reserve to take some pictures. When she came back she said she didn't get a lot of shot because not very many critters were out.

Then we spent the afternoon running errands and went to see Avatar again. :DD

Sunday I spent the entire morning in bed because I'm just that lazy. However, after noon my friend came over and we watched some Princess Tutu together. This would be my third time watching it. For her, she seen a few episodes here and there awhile back, so it's kinda like watching it fresh. She likes watching the subs. Me, I can do either. The one thing about the dubs I like is that I don't have to concentrate so much on following along with the story. But like I've said, I've seen this series a few times before and I adore it just the same each time!!

I must've slept on my back weird last night because it was hurting like you wouldn't believe this morning! Yikes! I feel better now, but I could barely move tis morning. Ugh!

Sitting here watching Princess Tutu again and fangirling over Fakir again, even if he is a bit of a jerk at first...

And DelRey has renewed it's contract with LucasArts. There are plans for a new nine books series released strictly in HARDCOVER entitled Fate of the Jedi which takes place directly after LOTF. Given the fallout from THAT particular series, needless to say, a lot of fans are a bit dubious about this next series. Plus, the fact they'll all be in hardcover means it'll be an expensive venture. I'm sure they'll eventually be released in paperback eventually, but it'll be a looooong wait. I just hope that whatever events come along, it can cover nine books.

Anyhow, here's what I'd like to see happen in this new series, in no significant order, just as I think of them...

cut in case no one finished lotf )

Gah, I have to go back to work tomorrow... TT_TT

Yesterday was an absolute joy. I was getting up to get ready for work when my stomach and my head had other ideas. Needless to say, after revisiting my breakfast, I decided to stay home.

One good thing did come from it however. I managed to finish watching Princess Tutu. And yes, I almost cried. Especially when Fakir was comforting Ahiru on the bottom of the lake. *wibbles* And when Ahiru was back to being a duck again and was dancing despite being knocked around by the Raven. *sniffles* And the end, where Fakir is writing by the lake with Ahiru on the water. It's sorta open ended if you think about it...

I did like the chapter menu art for the final disk. I wonder if I could find that anywhere?

I downloaded the Legs and Boots of the concert that I went to on the 18th. I made a copy for the girl I went with. She flipped! She loved it! I'm glad! I haven't listened to it completely yet.

I got my seventh volume of Kaze Hikaru and the fifth volume of Emma today. I plan on settling down and reading them shortly.

Kinda short today. But that's OK sometimes...

Well, here I am, back to the grind. The four day weekend was nice, but it had to end eventually.

So, here's the scoop on my mini vacay:

cut.it.out... )

Needless to say, I wasn't able to watch my Princess Tutu set while I was there. Mostly because we weren't there long enough for me too and when we were, we were either too exhausted or I was trying to catch up with my FL.

In fandom news, I decided to order volume seven of Kaze Hikaru from Amazon as well as the missing volumes of Emma I need. I also lucked out and found copies of Fury and The Essential Guide to the Force. Needless to say my icon-fu will be twitching...

I went to the GI today and he wants me to have my colonoscopy after the first of the year... say January. The only bad thing about it would be the prep for it. I have to take this nasty ass liquid to clean me out. Blargh.

IT CAME!!!!! My Princess Tutu box set!!!! *squees with joy* Now I can watch the rest of the series at my leisure and squee at the cuteness (and cry at the sadness)!

For some reason, I can't seem to find volume 7 of Kaze Hikaru in the bookstores. Usually, they're pretty good about keeping up with the releases, but it's been a couple of weeks and still nothing. I may have to break down and order it from Amazon (as well as the missing volumes of Emma I need).

I left work a bit early today. Ostensibly under the pretense of getting my lab work done for my appointment, but I probably could've waited a bit longer. There was basically nothing left for me to do anyway, so I just cashed it in and left early.

Next week looks to not be a fun one for me. Not only did I not get my regular insurance checks this week, but I'll have the ones from this week and next week to post as well as whatever fee tickets I happen to get. On top of that, next week is not only the end of the month, but the end of the quarter as well. Let the fun begin!!! /sarcasm

Mom and I are still figuring out what exactly we want to do when we're at St. Augustine for the long weekend. There's a lot of neat stuff and relatively little time to do it in. I'm sure we'll have fun no matter what.

Here's hoping that everyone has a pleasant and safe holiday. And I wanna wish [livejournal.com profile] kawaiiayu a happy birthday! As you can see, I once again have failed to produce your scarf... T_T I'll to keep plugging away and maybe mail it to you in time for your 80th birthday...

Today at work was pretty busy. We only have three days, so hopefully we can get things caught up before Thursday.

Anyway, the concert last night was awesome! I'm sorry I don't have pictures because my camera decided to quit on me. *fnarl* Beforehand, we went to eat at the new Japanese steakhouse that wasn't too far from the venue. It was pretty nice. I tried miso soup for the first time. It wasn't too bad. A little salty.

We made it a little later than I felt comfortable with, but we only really missed the guy she's touring with performing. I mean, he was decent enough, but I wasn't there to see him. I was able to give away my extra ticket to some girl. She eventually ended up sitting elsewhere, but it wasn't a big deal or anything...

Now, onto the good stuff:

set list )

She seemed to have really been enjoying herself and it showed. She definitely showed her dimples! She was so cute when she's leave the stage and wave to the fans! After she finished her set and before the first encore, people actually rushed the stage! This is the first concert I've been to where that ever happened! But then, the other concerts I'd been too before were a little more sedate.

There were quite a few older people there as well. I was somewhat surprised since she has mostly younger fans, but it just goes to show that Tori transcends all ages.

The girl I went with told mom later on today that she kinda wished she'd taken me after all. The girl she was sitting with and shared her tickets with complained the entire time when my friend just wanted to enjoy the show. *shrugs*

Now that the show is available at Legs and Boots," I think I'm gonna purchase it!

OK, now some fandom stuff. I finished the first season of PT. *wibbles* Episode 12 is my favorite so far. Why? Much Fakir/Ahiru cuteness. They're my favorite pairing in the series, as if you couldn't tell. Like when Ahiru takes her pendant off and becomes a duck, Fakir gets mortified when he realizes that she'd seen him cry. I was all, "Awww, we know you're really a softie underneath, Fakir. Don't try to fool us." And then, when she put the pendant back on so she could talk to him again, forgetting she wasn't in her clothes, the way they both turned beet red. *tweeheehee*

Episode 13 almost made me cry. Not only because of Edel's sacrifice but because Ahiru was dancing "Swan Lake" which is one of the most beautifully tragic ballets. *sniffles* Also, because Fakir had given her the strength and courage to continue dancing despite the comments from Kraehe. They are so meant to be!!!!

Speaking of which, Amazon notified me that my box set will be arriving on Wednesday! Wheee!!! I may have to bring it along with me on vacation! I am planning on taking my laptop, which I can watch DVD's on. *stokes chin thoughtfully*

A quick little post before mom and I have to go to a play a friend of ours is in and choreographed.

Today was definitely a Friday at work. By the afternoon, things were beginning to slow down and cabin fever was setting in. I both hate and love days like this. Love it because I know the weekend is about to start and hate it because my train of thought seems to wander the most on these kind of days.

I was chilly today, which I like. Mostly because I get to break out my (albeit limited) collection of sweaters and my pea coat. Plus, it feels more like the holidays with the cooler weather. It won't be lasting long, however. That pesky warm weather is coming back. Although, it's pretty chilly in Japan right now. According to my weather gadget, it's 39° there (3.8° C for my Canadian friends).

Not much else to post. I've been thinking of maybe going on temporary hiatus, I dunno. It doesn't seem like a lot of people are reading, so I may as well. I haven't decided yet.

I have the next two disks of Princess Tutu! I hope I can watch them this weekend!! My box set is coming next week!

Two more days till Tori! I hope to have pics!

Man, it seems like every weekend I have gets sucked away... *siiiiigh* Saturday was mostly spent running errands, but they needed to be done. Before that though, mom went to her Weight Watchers meeting and I was catching up on some shows I had recorded but never got a chance to watch before.

We went to the camera store and mom was drooling over a camera case she wants. We then had lunch at a nearby diner where we ate the the counter, which I though was kinda fun. I liked watching the servers banter with the customers, each other and the cooking staff. That's the people watcher in me.

We then went to Best Buy to look at washer/dryers. I also bought the Bleach box set and a few other DVD's. I saw the Guitar Hero III on the shelves and subsequently drooled.

We then got groceries and called it a day. We didn't get home until about 4:30 or so. I spent the rest of the day mostly watching my Bleach episodes.

Sunday I woke to discover that a bird (or, more likely an entire FLOCK) decided to use my car as target practice. So I had to drive to church with my car marked up. *fnarl*

After church got out, I grabbed a bite and went home, ate and changed my clothes. Then I took my car to get washed of it's new "paint job." After that, I went home, started on some laundry and uploaded more CD's onto my iTunes.

I also watched the first disk of Princess Tutu. I LOVE it!!! *squeeee* Duck is so adorkable!! And I think I have a slight crush on Fakir. I was so enamored (even from just watching the first five episodes) that I bought the yet-to-be released box set from Amazon! I know the series gets darker as it progresses, but I have a feeling it's a definite keeper.

And I bought gas today after work... at $3.12 a gallon!!!!!! Holy !#*@#$&&)@#(!!!!!

New episode of Heroes tonight. After last week's shocker, I wonder what other surprises are in store?
