snapdragon76: this is made of win and awesome (celebrate)
Well, unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past twelve or so hours, it has been confirmed that Osama bin Laden is dead.

While this is indeed great news and worthy of a bit of a celebration, I do wonder what happens next. I mean, I doubt the war is gonna be over just like that. There are still other terrorist cells out there, not to mention the massive power vacuum that now exists within Al Queda. I don’t know how many lieutenants bin Laden had within his “organization” or not, but you can believe that he had a few co-leaders.

Plus, you know there is more than likely gonna be a fatwa of some sort as retaliation for us killing him. So, there’s that.

Despite all of this, I am glad there is definite movement forward in the terrorism fight. This is definitely a time to go down in the history books.

Well, turns out the Duggar’s are expanding. Again. It’s not the mother this time, but the daughter-in-law, which is a bit of a relief to me. I just hope she doesn’t follow the same path as her mother-in-law.

Now, don’t get me wrong. I have nothing against children in general. I do believe they are gifts from God and I know there are couples out there who experience the pain of not being able to conceive. That being said, however, I do think it can be overdone in a manner of speaking.

When you have so many that it eventually begins to endanger not only the health of the mother, but the health of the child then you need to consider the consequences of your actions. Like the last time the Duggar’s had a baby, she was premature and had to stay in the NICU for a period of time as well as the mother having health issues of her own. That’s the point of time when you seriously need to ask yourself, “I think we’ve reached the point where it’s best to stop.” They have 20 so they’re legacy is assured and then some.

I mean, I admire them for be self sufficient and not needing to require any assistance from the government and are not in debt. That goes without saying. That does not mean I condone what they’re doing. And it’s not just because I don’t want any children of my own (mostly because I think I’d suck at it, but I also have health issues when it comes to carrying a baby).

I realize this might necessarily be a popular opinion, but this is my journal after all and I feel it’s something I needed to say. Plus, they don’t really need to announce it on national television every time one of them becomes pregnant, although I do realize there are people who find this whole circus a bit fascinating for whatever reason. I dunno.

Anyway, I think I’ve said all there is to say and I’ll be returning to whatever was going on before this public service announcement on my part.
