I had a bit of an angsty moment yesterday. Mostly about our living situation. I mean, time is limited and choices are scarce. I'm tired of living in limbo. Wondering if the next housing option will pan out. Wondering if the next employment option will pan out. It's a bit frustrating.

Anyway, I'm feeling a little better now. When I was at Bible Study yesterday, I came across a book that looked intriguing. I picked it up and started reading. It is very intriguing. It's called Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer. It's about this guy, fresh fom college, who gives up everything to wander in the wilderness, to try and live off nature. Needless to say, he doesn't make it. I've only made it a few chapters in, but it has this magnetic pull. Even though you already know the outcome, you want to continue to read to find out why he'd do something like that. Me, if I ever did anything like that, I'd make 100% sure I knew exactly what I was getting into so I could be prepared for whatever circumstances may come up.

The road construction in front of the house is finished!! Finally!! Now, I no longer have to weave through a maze in order to get to the house.

Dad's planning on coming down toward the end of the month. My grandmother is moving back to Indiana and he's going to help her move her stuff. So he's gonna stop by so we can spend some time together. It'll be nice. I haven't seen him since the funeral, and even before that, it was a few years. At the moment, we're trying to hash out exactly what we're going to do.

I think I'm gonna go to the bookstore and see if I can see what's come in. I'm still on the prowl for RK 25... Hopefully it'll be in.

My icons I posted yesterday seem to have been a hit. That makes me happy. And [livejournal.com profile] elantis says she's a fan of the characters! Yayness! Pssst, Emi. There are a few communities and websites about them I can point you towards if you like...

And I know I'm a full-fledged icon maker when I see various magazines and such and go, "I want the font they used for that." I do that with the 'Firefly' opening credits, too.

I was gonna post a pic I took of socks from Japan on here, but my Image Transfer is being uncooperative today. *grrr* A lady we know who goes to our church went to visit her husband who has a gig over there for a few months and she saw them and got them for me. I'm not going to wear them mostly because they're too small for me and also because I don't want to ruin them. One pair is a pair of tabi socks (you know, with the split toe). Once I get my IT to work, I'll post the pic.

Ysa, I came across a book that might be of interest for you. It's called The Roots of Desire: The Myth, Meaning and Sexual Power of Red Hair By Marion Roach. I figure you might be interested in it since you're a red-head at heart.

My Trimax is being slow in getting to me. I guess I've been spoiled by Tokyopop who's usually so prompt. Darn you Things From Another World (Dark Horse's distributor)!! I guess if I wanted to pay a whoooole lot more, I could get it quicker, but I'm far too cheap.

And I got RK 17 yesterday!! Whoo! We're thisclose to the start of the Jinchuu Arc!

How, you may ask? Simple. Just renew your driver's license online. They then send you your new one through the mail using the same picture as before. Voila. As long as you keep doing this, your picture will stay the same. All you have to do is show people your driver's license and say, "See, I really do look young. After all, your driver's license never lies."

So, you can guess what I recieved in the mail the other day. Admitidly, it's not the best picture of me, but it's better than some I've had taken. Although it does still show me with short hair.

I washed my car using the new Mr. Clean Car Wash System TM. It's pretty nifty, actually. One nice feature it has is a spot free rinse. I used it and it does indeed work.

After reading 'Pain Management' (for the third time), I've decided I need to make a Soleta icon. She deserves one (well, she deserves a lot more than that, but this is all I can do, really). I found a decent picture and now I just need to attempt to use my PhotoShop skills to try and do her justice. If I'm happy with the finished result, I may post it.

I got a new frame for the pic [livejournal.com profile] kawaiiayu did for me (like I said I would). This one is much better than the one I had before.

I went to the bookstore yesterday and I bought three manga. FMA 2, Saiyuki 9, anfd RK 16. In Kenshin, I can definitely notice the changing art style, but it's not a big deal since I like the new style. And in Saiyuki, I still drool over Hakkai (well, all of them, really, but Hakkai the most).

Oh, and [livejournal.com profile] soleta_nf won the little 'contest' yesterday. There were nine.

While mom's at the laundromat washing our comforters, I'll post a quick "howdy" to everyone and wish them a happy holiday.

Got RK # 5 yesterday. I'm about halfway through it. It excellent, as ever. I also got Fruits Basket # 3. Already read it twice. It's been a good week-end so far for me!

Have a safe rest of the day everyone! Enjoy those cook-outs!!
