Well, we may have to move after all.
Yesterday, the appraisers stopped by and took a tour and did what they do. They were two very nice older gentlemen who mom had known through connections at work. Anyway, they said it'd be about a week before we get the report. That's not where the trouble lies, however.
Later, our landlord called and wanted an update on the situation. Mom said that she didn't see how she'd be able to come up with the money she needs in order to pay off some of the creditors in order to enable us to get the assistance we need in order to buy. Our very sympathetic landlord said that if that was the case, we still have to pay the rent for this month and be out by the first of November. I was like, "WTF?! That's it?!"
Now our one very tiny glimmer of hope is that our neighbors will still be able to buy it, enabling us to stay, that is if the apprasial price isn't too high. So far, that's the only chance we'll have, otherwise we'll have to move. I like the neighborhood. I like our neighbors. And, even with the state it's in, I even like our house. I don't want to move. Plus, it's extremely difficult to find a place within our price range that will allow three cats.
Sometimes, life sucks pure and simple...
