snapdragon76: this is made of win and awesome (Mustang and Hawkeye (undeadmiko))
Annnnnd, today starts off our 'Veronica Mars' quote week. Today's is from Season One Episode 2 "Credit Where Credit's Due." Man, how I love Wikiquote...

And let us start things off with a nice ol' weekend outline, shall we? I know you just peed your pants in all the excitement.

Friday:

Movie night! We watched POTC in order to prep ourselves to see the second one which just came out. Plus, it's a fun movie to watch. Orlando Bloom can swash my buckle anytime...

Saturday:

The majority of the day was spent... in pajamas. Exciting, eh? But we cleaned ourselves up and prepared ourselves for dinner with some friends of ours. It was very nice. The food was good and the company was very pleasant. We stayed until almost eleven. We talked, we saw some photos from their honeymoon as well as the proofs of the wedding pictures. A good time was had by all...

Sunday:

Morning was church. OomA wasn't there like last weekend. *siiiigh* My old boss was there though. He hadn't been to our church in quite some time, so it was kinda nice to see him there (along with his lady friend).

Afternoon, we stopped by the storage place and dropped a few things off. Next weekend sometime we're gonna have to take out our sleeping bags since there's gonna be a local ladies retreat two weekends from now. Thing is, they're kinda buried underneath a bunch of stuff. I sure hope we don't have any more we need to put in there, because it's almost filled to bust already.

We then went to get a few things at the grocery store and then we made our way home.

Most of the afternoon I spent catching up on my FL and reading some. I read vol. 9 of the FMA manga, and I will say this, I was really disappointed in Roy. I'll go into further detail on my Greatest Journal (which I've decided to transform into my anime/manga journal. Nothing against [livejournal.com profile] ryudoshi, but I dislike having to sign out of this account and resigning into the other one. Too much hassle, especially since I use this one more). I will say this, though. Ed has some of the greatest expressions of any manga character I know. Three panels of him expressing his extreme nonverbal displeasure of discovering Ling is the same age as him yet about a foot taller. Hee!

Today I need to go and pick up my prescription and that's about it. I want to try to conserve gas, so I'm not driving any more than I have to. Oh, and my "Check Engine" light went out. We discovered it was probably from emissions, so we switched to a different grade gas and it seemed to help. Good! It saved me from a $75 diagnostic fee!

Trivia of the day: California sea otters spend almost all of their time in the water. Alaska sea otters often sleep, groom, and nurse on land.

Man, I never want to wash another thing for as long as I live. This weekend was spent over at my aunt's cleaning, organizing and pricing my grandmother's belongings for the Garage Sale we're gonna have in a couple of weeks. My job was to be stationed at the sink and wash various items of the coating of greasy dirt they acquired. Now, my grandmother was not slovenly by any means, it's just she was legally blind and wasn't able to see the dirt her things accumulated over the years. It didn't help matters any that she had a gas stove that tends to leave a residue on things. My aunt hired a cleaning lady for her, but she was elderly and tended not to thoroughly clean things as well as she should've. So, we want to make sure the things we sell are clean and in working order before we try to sell them. Luckily I have a bit a a reprieve over the next few days so I can catch up with things on here. I haven't been able to check my FL since Friday. Oy Vey!

I have to leave a bit early in order to pick mom up from work so we can get her car. The mechanics have 'jury rigged' it so it wouldn't stall out on her all the time, but they said she can't drive it hither and yon, so she's just going to use it for work. There's a church that has a ministry that helps those who need them acquire new(er) cars. Mom said she was going to look into it.

Not much for me to do today. Hopefully I can go through some of my magazines and cut out the articles I want to keep so I can get rid of the rest of them so I can free up some room. I still have a duffel bag full of clothes in the back of my car that I really don't want to stay in there forever. And, if I ever find my box of shoes, I need a place to put them as well.

Fandom wise, things have been pretty slow. I need to get around to sometime reading the next chapter of 'Eternal Sabbath.' I've only read one so far. I also dl-ed DN 99 the other day, so I need to open it up and have a gander. I might try to go Wednesday to look and see what's been released lately. There's also a few icons I might wanna work on as well as a few images to scan.

Trivia of the day: The first U.S. Census was authorized on March 1, 1790. The results showed that the U.S. population in 1790 was 3,929,214.

I'm waiting for a phone call to tell me that my car's been fixed. Hopefully it'll fall under warranty so I don't have to pay for it. *crosses fingers* So I can't take my shower just yet until they call, because knowing my luck, they'll call while I'm in the shower... It shouldn't take too long to fix, but I know nothing about this sort of thing, so who knows.

We got quite a bit accomplished yesterday. My aunt and I were in the kitchen mostly doing the cleaning (it was the dirtiest). I cleaned the dryer, the refrigerator, the dishwasher and wiped down the cabinets while my aunt concentrated on the stove. It took her quite some time to do it, too. It was pretty dirty. I think it's because it's a gas stove and natural gas tends to leave residue everywhere, which is one of the reasons I like electric. She cleaned the stove top, the hood, the filter (nasty), the oven, the oven racks, the broiler, the broiler pans and the stove pans. A very time consuming job to say the least. While we were doing that, my uncle was cleaning most of the rest of the place. The master bathroom (mostly the shower), the windows and vacuumed. He also switched the shower head in the master bath. It may not seem like a lot written down, but it was. We have to go back on Wednesday and do some finishing up, mostly the counter tops and the floors. Plus we have to turn the keys in by then. It'll seem so strange to see it completely cleaned out and empty. And after Wednesday, I'll never go there again. That'll really seem odd.

I got 'Lady and the Tramp' yesterday. I'm not supposed to tell anyone, so that's why the small font. Shhhhh...

Hopefully today I'll be able to get more reorganizing done for in my room. I need to go through some of my magazines and cut out the articles I really want to keep so I can toss the rest of the magazine. They're taking up a lot of extra space...

Trivia of the day: The dog and the turkey were the only two domesticated animals in ancient Mexico.

'Howl's Moving Castle' is released today!!!

Thanks to everyone who gave their support to me as I was in my doldrums yesterday. I really appreciated it.

Things are better today. I mean, the situation hasn't changed, just my outlook. Of course, I could relapse and find myself down in the dumps again, but time will tell.

I may -- may-- have a possible job. A potentally cool job. A guy who's in the praise band at my church owns a guitar shop. He actually makes and sells guitars (and I think other stringed instruments as well). He needs some help in his shop to ease the workload for him somewhat. I've been mulling it over and I think I'll talk to him on Sunday and see what it entails before I commit myself or not. Of course, I know next to nothing about guitars, but I think I can learn.

There's also a job fair at the local community college. I may pop on over and take a look. Of course, I cave to correct the typos on my resume that someone made for me. I mean, how professional would it look if you hand someone a resume and you have 'available' misspelled on it.

My car sitch is still somewhat iffy. Mom put some anit-freeze in it this morning. I'm not going anywhere today (unless I go to the job fair thingy), so I'll have to watch my gauges and stuff. Tomorrow I have to take grandma to her volunteering and I'm gonna tell her that we can't go to anywhere else, really.

Quote of the day: "If my hands are fully occupied in holding onto something, I can neither give nor recieve." -- Dorothee Solle <-- actually yesterday's quote, but I didn't feel like putting it up.
