I hear ya. As a kid I read the french comics and shaw the animated series a bit (comics were so much better) and I really feel like the US film industry is going to twist a genuine, fun icon of french comics.

I LOVED the Smurfs as a kid. I watched the cartoon series, had a few figurines and even had a collection of the (translated) comics. I feel that this is desecrating all that is good and pure.
