snapdragon76: this is made of win and awesome (Rin -- "Dreaming")
Well, today I purchased the final volume of Furuba in English. It's very surreal to me to be sure. The review I wrote on my GoodReads profile I think sums it up nicely:

The final volume. The end has come, and a bittersweet one it is.

My fondness for this series goes beyond just the art and story itself (although I love both), but for the wonderful friendships I made due to it. Friends I still have to this day.

Even though it's been over for awhile over in Japan, I always had the English volumes to look forward to. No more.

Needless to say, I almost cried when picking it up at the bookstore. I doubt I'll ever find another series that has the same impact this one had.

Thank you, Takaya-sensei.

This weekend looks to be small. That's fine. I'm not someone who needs to be on the go all the time. I'm more of a homebody anyway. Mom and I are probably gonna mix up a few drinks and watch a movie and kick back. Sounds like a fun time to me.

I read the french version of the series so I got the ending last year...it was so touching. Furuba is one of those rare series that if I would have to recommend it to someone who doesn't read manga, or doesn't read girly manga, this would be the title I would still push onto them.

Yes, it had just the right combination of humor and pathos. I adored the characters and they felt so real to me. Out of all the other series I read (which, needless to say, are many) this one stayed with me the most.

Yes.

Yes, again. I honestly don't think I've ever loved a series (manga, anime, books, television, movies) as much as I love Furuba. Or that I ever will again. That sounds silly, but that's how I feel.

I read it a week ago, and I'm still too emotional to get my thoughts together enough to post about it. I want to do a re-read of the whole series now!

My eyes lingered on that last page for a long time, not wanting it to actually BE the last page. I had to wait awhile before I actually read it, because I wanted to focus my entire attention to it. Everyone was so cute in it too, especially Kyo and Tohru.

I hope they translate the second fanbook. I know there's some really nice extras in it. I thik I have the Japanese version, but it has a lot of text in it that I can't read... TT_TT

I feel the same way...
