snapdragon76: this is made of win and awesome (Ryoki -- notorious)
This weekend was fairly uneventful... except for me smashing my toe. The tale is as follows:

Saturday afternoon I was fixing myself some lunch and I went to open the freezer door to fetch some ice to chill my drink. I was successful in getting said ice, but I had to shift a few things in order to get to the ice container. My mother often fixes herself a batch of vegetable soup and freezes it in microwavable containers to take in her lunch. One of these containers took it upon itself to commit suicide and fling itself out of the freezer. Unfortunately instead of landing on the floor with a satisfying crash, it landed on my left pinkie toe with a not so satisfying crunch. If I were the type to swear, it most assuredly would've sprung forth that moment.

So I finished eating my lunch, hobbling back to my cave-like room in order to do so. Afterwards, I iced my toe and prayed it wasn't fractured. Turns out it wasn't, just badly bruised and swollen.

Soooo, needless to say, this whole incident has made getting around very interesting to say the least. Unshod I do alright, however where shoes are concerned is another matter. I think I should be healed in another few days, God willing.

This week is also my annual colonoscopy. Joy. The procedure itself isn't so bad... it's the prep. The Jug o' NastyTM that I have to drink in order to cleanse myself. Ugh. A day full of eating nothing but clear liquids isn't a laugh riot either. But, it's important and it's only once a year, so I can grin and bear it if I can...

I bought the first season of The Big Bang Theory at Wal-Mart this weekend. It's such a great show...

Well, that's all for now. Signing off.

I'm so sorry for your toe! I enjoyed the story, though. Good writing. :) I hope you heal quickly!

Oh, ouch D: Sorry about your toe. I know your pain, I've jammed and slammed my toes a lot, and it's not fun.

Thanks! Once in awhile I like to stretch my not often used writing muscles. I used to write (kinda crappy) lil stories when I was younger, but kinda fell away from it due to not enough time and lack of interest...

They give you something to make it more... bearable. Mercifully in my case, I sleep right through it.

Ouch! And yes, I'm able to (pretty much) walk without a limp today, so it's definitely on the mend!

Yes. I have Crohn's Colitis, and because of that I have to get one every year to make sure everything is on the up and up. Fortunately I sleep right through it. The prep for it is the worst part, however. Blech!

And isn't it hilarious?! Love it!

Good luck with your colonoscopy. I agree that the prep is the worst. Ugh. During the actual procedure I was so full of happy drugs that I didn't care what they were doing.

Thank you! I think it will.

I'm completely asleep during it, which suits me just fine...
