snapdragon76: this is made of win and awesome (Default)
Well, against all odds, we're going to be closed tomorrow. Why tomorrow and not today kinda baffles me, but that's the way our company is.

We took a walk around the neighborhood and I took some photos of the results. Here they are.

So, since I put away all my stuff from the trip and subsequently reassembled my Wii, I'll be watching some DVD's and possibly playing some games tomorrow. I only hope we get compensated for the time off we have...

Holy crap ^__^'. That's a lot of water.

I understand the whole work issue. It was just a few months ago that we had a really bad flood here, and still had to come to work. They let us go like...an hour and a half before my shift was over. Things were more or less at their worst by that time though -__-'.

I know. Some companies are soooo afraid to lose money that they'd rather stay open in adverse conditions then let their employees or clients/patients stay home for safety's sake. I mean, the roads here are so flooded it's almost impossible to get through. I mean, it's better if you have a higher sitting vehicle like a truck or an SUV or something, but I have a pretty low sitting car and there's no way I'd be able to make it. I mean, my car got slightly flooded as it is...

I'm glad to hear you guys are okay. They kept talking on the news about all the rain you had and I was wondering if you were still in one piece.

Yep, still here. My car got a mite flooded, but we've been working on drying it out. It's drivable, but I still wanna wait for the water to recede more before I take it to work. Mom will probably have to take me to work tomorrow.

I tried to comment on your Facebook pics but couldn't. Those are some crazy photos! Reminds me of the flood we had here in the spring. I hope nothing of yours was damaged!

Strange. I had a bit of a hard time uploading them too, so I dunno if that's part of it or not...

Yes, very crazy. We have a surprising amount of roads here prone to flooding. You'd think because of the hurricane threats, they'd be better at drainage so they'd be drivable, but no.

Someone needs to learn some long-term planning. :(
