snapdragon76OK OK, maybe not my DOOM per se, but much unpleasantness. It's work stuff, naturally. It's too complicated to explain on here. Suffice it to say, I was very tempted to just foist onto someone else to do, but I'll suck it up and try to do it on my own. Maybe if I have more time, I can pull it off. That still doesn't mean I won't be praying like a mofo that my own checks will come and I won't have to do them...
I really need to start motivating myself a lot better. I've slacked off in the gym department... So, next week, no matter what, I'm going to do it!! Mom or no mom! Speaking of which, mom's been a little emo lately. Lemme tell ya, trying to be cheerful around someone whose angsting is exhausting! She's not exactly the easiest person to live with when she gets like this.
Well, I went and got the last book in the Legacy of the Force series. What an interesting story THAT is!
I had gone out to get some food and I thought, "The bookstore is on the way, so should I?" Then I decided to do it after getting the food since I wouldn't have to cross traffic that way. I went in the store (at almost closing time) and first I looked through the shelves and the New Releases table to no avail. then I went to the front desk and asked the clerk if it was out yet, in case I had gotten some wires crossed. She went to her computer and looked. She mentioned something about an audio book, but no novel. She then walked to where the audio books were and went looking for it so she could see what the cover looked like since apparently the cover wasn't on the computer database. I found the audio book and showed her what the cover looked like. She went into the back to see if there were any back there, with no luck. She then asked another co-worker where it might've been. He then looked it up (again) on the computer and then went to another shelf where it was located. Someone, when originally stocking them, put it on a different shelf than where it was supposed to go. I bought it on the spot and walked out the door. Luckily, when I got home, my food was still hot.
OK, since I didn't get to read ALL the book yet, I'll just do a quick and dirty rundown on what I did read.
Despite all hopes to the contrary, Jacen still dies and Zekk still goes MIA. It seemed to happen too quickly though. There wasn't a lot of aftermath stuff, though. I mean, Jaina killed Jacen, cradled his head in her lap until her parents found her, got treated for her injuries, then there was a bunch of GA stuff, and that was it. I kinda thought there'd be more. I mean, she killed her only remaining brother, and her TWIN! Gimme some angst people! If it was me, I'd have been sobbing my guts out, even if I did know there were no other options and that it had to be done...
And I was disappointed about what happened to Zekk. I've made my peace with the fact that Jaina will most likely end up with Jag. I mean, he's loosened up some and isn't such a tight ass, so it's cool. But Zekk deserved better. He needed the chance to become his own person, apart from Jaina. Hell, let him have a threesome with the Hapan twins! He needs sex for Pete's sake! He's been pining over one girl for far too long! He's young, handsome and virile! Let him get some! Yeah, you knew that was coming. I mean, since Jacen was whacked, I need to project my sexual frustrations onto someone else now... yeah I know, WTMI.
And you know I'll be reading the next book, the Millennium Falcon once that's coming out next, mostly because of Allana.
Speaking of which, what's going to happen with her? Are they just gonna continue to have people think she's dead and then when it comes time to ascend the throne, she'll be like "O HAI I was here the whole time! In secrit!"
Mom heard from one of her classmates regarding the reunion. It's going to be August 2nd. So we may have to go up a little sooner than expected, but I can deal. We plan on going straight through so we can get there with enough time for her to prepare and whatever else she needs to do. Afterward is when we're gonna mosey around and see people. And I plan on bringing my Wii with me.
