*vibrates with excitement* I think I have a job!! The lady at the Medical Records department called me back today and asked me if I was still interested in working at Medical Records. I said I was (what was I gonna say? No?) and she asked if I could go down to the HR department to fill out some paperwork and that way the process could get started. I'll have to go tomorrow since mom has my car today, but I'm so excited!! I have a job!! *twirls* I think I have to undergo some training first in order to become familiar with the electronic records they use nowadays, but that's perfectly fine. I doubt they'd toss someone into the deep water before teaching them how to swim (or at least dog paddle. How was that for an analogy).

I'll probably have to post in the evenings after I start, but that's no big deal since my computer's in my bedroom I have all the privacy I need. I also have to retrain myself to go to bed earlier...

And a little note to my "lil bro": Sorry I wasn't on when you finished rebooting, but I had to close some programs due to slow performance. OK, from the highs to the lows. I don't know if anyone has heard from the news lately, but Five Girls Dead in Amish School Shooting. My first thought was, "What the hell is wrong with some people?!" I mean, this was an Amish school. I mean, public High School shootings are bad enough, but to have some guy come in and release the boys and the pregnant teacher, but hold the girls and the assistant hostage and then shoot them execution style before shooting himself... is indescribable. The Amish are know for being a peace-loving, simple, highly religious people who pretty much keep to themselves and have little to do with the outside world, or the "English." Apparently he was targeting young girls specifically for something that happened 20 years ago... I just... can't say any more about this horrific tragedy...

Trivia of the day: The females of many species of moths are wingless. To compensate for this, their bodies are always larger and heavier than those of their male counterparts.

Nice going on the job! You should be good at that and I know you'll like it.
As to the shootings, I don't know what more I can add to what you guys have already said. Having just come back from Germany where nobody owns guns, I have to wonder anew why it is we have such a love affair with them. It almost seems like these school shootings happen in groups - like monkey see-monkey do. It angers and sickens me and I fear every day for not only my own grandchildren but for every child, and adult, in public schools today. It is a sad commentary on our society.

I know. I know the Constitution says we have the right to bear arms and all of that, but that's in time of war and we feel that our homes are going to be threatened. Even then, semi-automatics are a bit of an overkill (if you'll pardon the pun). Why in the world are we selling those kinds of guns? Why sell guns of any kind? But then, try to put restrictions on it and people will harp on violations of their Constitutional rights. No wonder so many people hate Americans...

Now I see why more and more families are opting to having their kids homeschooled.

Unlike a lot of people who have misgivings about the right to bear arms, I have nothing against hunters, hunting or even owning a firearm. What I have a problem with is the fact that firearms are so readily available to anyone with the cash to buy one. The right to bear arms carries with it the responsibility to use them responsibly, much the same as the right to operate a motor vehicle carries the responsibility to drive it with some sense. I know, driving is a privilege and not a right, but try telling that to most car owners. Simply because a particular individual has the right to own a gun doesn't necessarily mean that same individual should own one.

I would certainly look seriously at home schooling if I had school age children.
