snapdragon76: this is made of win and awesome (My Future Husband... (reiayanamie00))
*looks at the time* No, you're not mistaken. I'm home as opposed to work. Why you ask? Well, I was basically laid off.

There wasn't any problem with my work. In fact, it may be the opposite problem. It seems my boss had thought the things he'd have me do were a lot and when I did them in less time than he thought it would take... well I kinda worked myself out of employment. Which is odd when you think about it. The timing could've been a whole lot better what with the possibility of moving and stuff. I'm going to try and reapply at the bookstores and see what happens then. In the meantime, we'll have to cut down on incidentals like eating out and ice cream (that one was mostly for mom). I won't cut out on my manga unless I absolutely have too. Even then, I'll try and space it out a little. That's how bad my addiction is. It's a little sad, actually...

So now my goal for the day is to go through some more crap that we don't need so it'll be less stuff to move.

:/ That *really* sucks, esp. with the timing. Did you ask about references at all? 'Cause if he was pretty happy with your work, a good recent reference is something, anyway. But still, blah. *hugs*

*facepalms* No, I didn't think of asking for refrences. Basically I was still in stunned mode when I left as well as thinking, "What the hell am I going to tell my mom" since my main reason for getting a job was to help out on rent...

I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem, though since he was a decent boss and was happy with the work I did.

Don't worry about a reference - most people are happy to give it, and it's the least he can do after reaping the benefits of your productiveness and then laying you off with no notice! You'll get a reference, just ask him the next time you can. :)

Yeah, I'm sure he'd give me one, no problem.

That totally sucks. I'm so sorry you got laid off. You were working so hard! I hope you can find another job.

Yeah, so do I. I mean, I still have money coming in, so I can still help out some. But the extra money was very nice. Hopefully, if we move into an apartment, utilities are included, so that help a little.

I'm not in panic mode just yet though...

Sorry to hear about the "laying off." I know how that feels. =( But on the bright side, now you have something to add to the work experience section on other applications. ^_^

Yes, that's very true. In fact, I think that's what my grandma was telling my mom on the phone last night. And it was good experience...

Yeah. I'm sure I'll get one. I just forgot to ask because I was too stunned at the time.

And thanks for your support.

Yeah, I know. The timing totally sucks.

I'm really keeping my fingers crossed. Hopefully something will come up...

I'm so sorry you were laid off. :( That's one hell of a compliment, though, and a great thing to say in an interview! You got some great experience and a great reference, and you will find something else soon! You are right that this is perfect timing for you to focus your energy on moving now. :)

Yeah, I know. It's still a bit surreal, but I do plan on using the experience for the future.

Actually I was thinking the timing was pretty bad since I needed the extra money to help with the rent, but yes. I could use the extra time to concentrate on the moving aspect. When I picked up the application yesterday, the girl said they're going to be looking to hiring for the holidays.

*crosses her fingers*

There should be lots of places hiring for the holidays. Just be sure to start pounding the pavement and get those resumes out there. Good luck!
