*taps microphone* Hello. My name is Snap and I have a shoe/book/manga addiction. I've been trying to curb it, but to no avail. Admittedly the first two are heredetary, but I really must learn self control. Thank You.
I tell you, I've got it bad. Today, I went and bought me a new pair of shoes. They're freakin' adorable. They're tan leather low-heel Mary Janes that can go with either a denim skirt of a pair of jeans. I will say this, I bought them for $30 when they were originally $40, so go me! I sometimes do little things to freshen up my spring wardrobe a bit. I also bought some light weight knee high socks to wear with boots.
And in regards to another addiction, I went to the bookstore yesterday and bought a new book. An actual book this time and not manga. It's called She Got Off The Couch: And Other Heroic Acts from Mooreland, Indiana by Haven Kimmel. It's a continuation of her first book, A Girl Named Zippy: Growing Up Small in Mooreland, Indiana. My main interest in them is because the author writes about my hometown. Now, most people may not find it all that spectacular, but due to the size and relative anonymity of my hometown, it's quite a feat.
Don't forget to look into this book, A Northern Light by Jennifer Donnelly. Good stuff.
I think my main purpose for getting a job is to feed my addiction. I confess, I'm not as bad as Yomiko Readman from 'Read Or Die, but I'm coming pretty close.
And I downloaded Knoppix yesterday. I don't know exactly what to do with it, so it's just sitting there, on my computer, twiddeling its thumbs (I know its an inanimate 'object' and has no thumbs, but work with me here). Which just shows the degree of my complete lack of any computing skills whatsosever. I also had to download Bit Torrent in order to download it. *sigh* Where's an in-house IT person when you need 'em.

Trivia of the day: In 1965, the minimum annual salary for a baseball player was $6,000, just a thousand dollars more than it had been in 1947.
