snapdragon76: this is made of win and awesome (Amon 'Bitch Please' (rocknlobster))
Guess what? It has come for a visit. *sighs* Well, so far It hasn't been too bad, but I'm still being guarded. I'd rather have It come now than at Christmas time. *grumble* I hate this time of the month. Yesterday, my cramps were really bad all I wanted to do was crawl under the covers and never come out. Ahhh, Midol is my friend.

[livejournal.com profile] flamika, I still haven't recieved your package yet. What size is it so I know whether to watch the mailbox or by the front door? I hope my card isn't going through a lot of trouble.

Yesterday, instead of having a regular bible study, we made cards for folks in a nursing home. I made about four before my creative juices were spent. I sat in front of the television and watched 'Santa Clause 2' and drank some hot cocoa. Yummers. I also had a sugar cookie with coconut shavings sprinkled on it and a Hershey kiss sitting in the center. It was pretty good, I must say. Almost made up for the crappiness I was feeling.

I didn't have to get up early this morning to take mom to work. The lady we stay with took her. I was glad to be able to sleep in. Times like these it'd take nothing short of a crowbar to pry me out of bed.

I made an icon of my new motto yesterday, on a whim.

My first one of the text icons you see floating around every once in awhile. Not too bad, I must say.

OK, I'm gonna follow the crowd and do this little meme-thingy:

OK, the assignment is to go into your journal archives, pick the first (or second) sentence of your first entry for the month and post them. This is your year in review.

Jan: "I hope everyone had a pleasant New Year. I did."

Feb: "I temporarily changed the color of my layout for Valentine's Day."

Mar: "I just wanted to start off by saying thank you to all who responded to my previous post. That meant a lot to me."

April: "Well, today I'm actually wearing shorts for the first time in months."

May: "*whew* This weekend was a full one! It had it's fair share of ups and downs, which I shall list here in a way I've seen both [livejournal.com profile] kawaiiayu and [livejournal.com profile] flamika do a few times in the past:"

June: "Well, a quickie post before I get ready to go and meet [livejournal.com profile] toriru4ever and, hopefully, [livejournal.com profile] vanatom. I hope the rain eases up before I go."

July: "I got my copy of Furuba 10 yesterday. Of course, it came in the evening and mom had to ask questions..."

Aug: "Well, we didn't go out Friday night like we planned. It's been postponed for sometime later on this month, but we'll have to see."

Sept: "Well, it's been my second day as a working girl. The second day was better."

Oct: "Well, we may have to move after all."

Nov: "Hello!! I'm back! Sorry it took so long, but I only got internet access today and then I had a doctor's appointment."

Dec: "My toe aches. It didn't hardly bother me at all yesterday, but today it does a little bit."

And that, dear friends, was my Year in Review. And, of course, I got sucked into rereading the whole entry I got the sentences from... *shakes head*

Well, I was finally able to get off my lazy butt and fix up those images I had wanted to post for some time. They're nothing spectacular, just pictures I took of stuff that I received from Japan. Since I know there are several Japan-aphiles on my FL, I figured I'd post them.

So here goes:

Some of the coins I got. I think I figured out the correct exchange equivalent, but I'm not 100% sure...

The manga phone book I got.

One of the color pages inside.

One of the actual series. I don't know which one it is, though...

And I was able to sit down and read my latest copy of 'Shojo Beat.' And I'm going to take this opportunity to gush over the latest chapter of 'Kaze Hikaru" since I squeed a bit over it. I'll cut it so I can spare those of you who'd rather not know:

clicky )

Woooow! That took me longer to write up that I thought it would. I do believe this series is going to be complied and released in graphic novel form in January. Imma gonna buy me a copy.

Speaking of which, I made another icon. This one I'm pretty pleased with. I did a different technique and I'm pretty proud of the result:

Cute, eh?

Well, I better stop before my hands fall off at the wrists. I have to try and catch up with my tape of 'Veronica Mars' and 'Everwood' before tonight.

My computer's being slow again this mornings. Hey, I don't like mornings either, but I try my best to cooperate here!!

And I went onto Apartments.com yesterday and was able to find a couple of options for us. As I was telling [livejournal.com profile] clowny_face, it's not that we're adverse to apartments, it's just that we've been living in a house for so long, we've aquired some stuff over the years. We're trying to get three bedrooms, but we might have to settle for two. If so, we'll need to find a place for our computers. I made sure they were ones that'd take pets. Now they didn't mention how many they took, but hopefully, since they're cats and fairly small (well, Ori might be pushing it a bit), I don't know why it'd be a major problem. Argh! *pulls out hair*

I'm a little anxious to go to work this morning since this whole website thing has got me a bit frazzeled. But, I think the extra day I had off helped me. I was able to unwind a bit. But, I'll bring my book I got, so maybe it'll help.

And I made a new icon!! Like it! Simple, yet effective! And I uploaded the Cloud/Tifa [livejournal.com profile] flamika made. Now, I have two spaces left, so I have to use them wisely.
