snapdragon76: this is made of win and awesome (Gren sad (road_not_taken))
I am dog tired. I got up at 4:30 this morning. >_< Surprisingly, I was in pretty good spirits for having been rudely awakened. Tomorrow I have to get up at 6:00. Not as bad as before, but still pretty bad...

We did pretty well for the first day of the sale. Most of the larger items were sold and all that's really left are a bunch of the smaller ones. My shoes are still MIA, however. Through the course of the day, I learned just how rude people can be. And greedy! A few were complaining that it wasn't a real 'estate sale' because it wasn't being held at the deceased's residence and there was a lack of large furnishings. Hello! For one thing, my grandmother wasn't a rich person, so she didn't have a lot of large elaborate furnishings. She had what she needed and got by with that. Also, a few items were given to family members, so there wasn't as much as there had been originally. Secondly, she lived in an apartment that had to be vacated by a certain time, so there wasn't any way we could've had it there. I doubt the management would've allowed that anyway. People need to realize that when people say 'estate' it's not necessarily referring to a large house chock full of antiques. It means, someone's entire houseful of belongings, whether it be a house or an apartment. My aunt used to live in Turkey, so she knows how to bargain. I mean, some people were wanting to knock a price down by a dollar or so, and for the most part it was agreed to. But for some things, people wanted to pay a lot less than what it's really worth. I mean, a few things were semi-expensive originally and people wanted them to go for next to nothing. A few people had said that we had good bargains, so I don't know why they were complaining. There was this one couple there that was ruuuude. I mean, the man wanted to look at this one picture that we had, and he couldn't find the price. My mom went over to try and look for it. It was on the back. I saw it from where I was sitting and called out to her, not knowing if she'd seen it or not. The guy gives me a dirty look. I didn't say anything (of course) but I was thinking, 'That was totally uncalled for, buddy.' His wife (I'm assuming) didn't say much of anything to us, but she had this sort of disdaindful attitude. They did buy some things, but my aunt said she'd rather not have them come by at all if that was their attitude.

I totally got sunburnt sitting out there all day, too. After I check my FL, I'm gonna apply some aloe and then lay down for a bit. I think tomorrow's gonna be slower because we don't have as much stuff... Fine with me. I just want it to be done with.

Trivia of the day: The game crambo, in which one person or team must find a rhyme to a word or a line of verse given by another, originated around 1600. The word "crambo" is from the Latin for “cabbage.”
