snapdragon76: this is made of win and awesome (Virginity!)
Well, this weekend was a rather full one.I don't know how many of you heard of my Drama of the KeyboardTM, but my wireless keyboard died on me on Friday. At first I was baffled, because all I did was change the batteries. Well, after trying to figure things out on our own, mom called the Best Buy service number since it's still under the extended service plan from when we originally bought it. However, the guy on the other line (whose name we never did get alas), treated us like we were idiots that didn't know our asses from a hole in the ground. Then he hung up on us. Well, that just pissed mom off even more. The one thing she absolutely WILL NOT tolerate is being patronized. And naturally all this happened during BSG, so I didn't get to enjoy it as much as I would have liked to. *stabbity* We called my cousin, who works on computers, and left a message. Luckily I have my laptop for backup purposes...

Saturday we ran some errands and then went downtown. I always like downtown where we live. It's very arty in atmosphere. Neat little shops and bistros and cafes. We went to the little English shop and I bought me some goodies as well as some tea. PG Tips and Barry's Gold Leaf to be precise. We ate at this one little restaurant that had a cafe-like outdoor seating area. We ate at the prior restaurant that used to be in that location that was a small quaint little homestyle place. This new one though... It had a case of Eternally Hip. I guess I just have old fashioned tastes. Next time we eat downtown, we're going to the OTHER local restaurant there. They're supposedly pretty good...

Next, we went to the post office so I could mail off [livejournal.com profile] umadoshi's package and then go to the store. My cousin called while we were on our way home and said he'd stop buy after he finished moving more of his furnishings into his new apartment he's sharing with a friend of his. So he fiddled with my keyboard for a bit, but he also brought along a spare to check the settings and stuff. Well, it turns out that my keyboard just up and died on me. Kaput. Wonderful. So right now I'm typing on the temporary one he brought until I can get mine replaced. It's kinda clunky and ugly. Not nice and sleek like mine was. Plus, it clashes with things... Icky poo!

He also went and arranged our WiFi so that people couldn't leach into our connection all willy-nilly like as they have been. More secure connection is a very good thing.

I did manage to rearrange some things in my room so that I have a skosh more space. I can actually access my dresser now basically. I also managed to put away some of my books now that I have something to put them in. The one downside of being a bibliophile with such a small amount of space.

Sunday after church, we stopped by Best Buy to inquire about the keyboard. Unfortunately due to the conditions of the service plan, we have to call the service number like we did before. Hopefully we'll get a different person this time around. While there I decided to look through the games to see what they had. I did manage to pick up CrossWorDS for the DS. It's pretty addicting.

So... that was MY weekend. If you read through all of that, you get a prize.

Today at work was fine.I did have to go back in the back where we file stuff and slog through two weeks worth of dates for two different doctor's charge slips to copy for whatever reason. I wasn't told why exactly... it was kind of tedious.

I soooo need to get me one of these for my cats...

Four day weekend bay-beh!!! Whooooo!!!!

I sincerely hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday.

I spent the better part of last night trying to figure out a reason why my CD ROM drive isn't working right. I tried doing a System Restore, but it wasn't successful. It was working fine a few weeks ago, now all of a sudden... bupkes. *siiiiigh* I did manage to clean up some of the programs I never use, so that freed up space at least.

Today in History: 1864
Charles L. Dodgson, whose pen name was Lewis Carroll, sent a handwritten manuscript to Alice Liddel. The manuscript was titled "Alice’s Adventures Underground". It was an early Christmas present to the 12-year-old. Later, the manuscript was renamed "Alice in Wonderland" and "Through the Looking Glass".

*looks at clock* Yeah, it's late. I'm usually late on Tuesdays anyway, but tonight my computer was being difficult... again, so it took me twice as long.

Well, the fundage issues have been settled and mom will be able to get the car. So good news in that regards. Unfortunately, I may not be able to get my MacBook after all. I had the money for it a few months ago, but mom wanted me to wait, so I did. Then she said we'd do something after thanksgiving, but nothing happened and now I don't have the money anymore. I am a bit disappointed. I mean, I'll eventually get over it, but only because I have no choice really...

Some jackass keeps calling me all the time!!! It started last night and most of the day today. I Googled the area code and it's from Jamaica. Who the hell is calling me from Jamaica? It's a wrong number, that's for sure.

So here's the number. I'm posting it in an unlocked post because they annoyed the crap out of me and I want them to get a little payback. Teach you to mess with me...

Wanna call me at 1:00 in the morning again? Didn't think so.

OK, last night I caught a few minutes of Battlestar Galactica and I have this to say:

BSG )

Heroes )

And you've totally got to read this to believe it.

I doubt I'll be able to get to my FL tonight... *stabs her computer*

Trivia of the day: The 1960's phrase "flower power" was coined by Beat Generation poet Allen Ginsberg.

I did the stupidist thing yesterday. I bashed my fourth toe on the exercise thingy that is in the computer room. For a minute, I thought I'd broken it, but it's not. It's just badly bruised. I've been limping around the house for most of the day. *smacks self for being careless*

And I would like to thank everyone who replied to my Christmas Card post. For those of you you haven't and still want to participate, just respond to this post. I want to send the cards out sometime in the next few weeks, so sign up before it's to late!!

I was majorly pissed at my computer yesterday. I was trying to download the Juunishi Fanmix [livejournal.com profile] flamika compiled and it kept getting hung up. In the end, I was able to download them... onto Winamp which I can't burn CD's from... *facepalm*

And I promised myself I wasn't going to gush over Furuba on here, and I don't plan on it. I plan on doing what I'm supposed to do and post my fangirl spasms on [livejournal.com profile] ryudoshi and dammit if I don't plan on doing it!! Today in fact since I was pardoned from setting up my grandmother's Christmas tree until next week. I don't know if it's partially because I'm so low on gas or if it's because I injured my toe. Whatever the reason, I'm gonna take it.

Ohh, time for some chair-groovin'!
