Geez, no wonder it's cold out! I just checked weather.com and it says it's 53° F (11° C) outside!! Brrr! For us, here in Florida, that's cold! Mom couldn't even get her car started this morning 'cause it's so cold outside. And it's supposed to get down into the 40's tonight! Thank goodness for hot cider. Mmmmmm...
This weekend was uneventful. Aside from mom being in a bad mood Friday because her boss was being an ass. He was complimenting his nurse on the fact that she's been putting in all of this overtime lately and working really hard, and yet he doesn't say anything about mom working overtime as well. Don't get me wrong, my mom doesn't begrudge the fact that the nurse has indeed put in a lot of overtime, but mom just wants a little recognition of all the hard work she puts in as well. I don't think the doctor she works for really knows just how much she does in that office that wouldn't get done without her. And it's going to be bad this week, because the nurse is going to have a surgical procedure done and will probably not be back until after the first of the year. Which means, they'll have to have a temp who doesn't know the office very well nor how the doctor likes things done. Super stressful.
I need to wait for my cell phone bill to get here so I can pay it and then hopefully be able to get mom's gift for her. She realy wants a smoothie machine. I'd like to be able to get her something. I'd like to also get her a turntable we saw in at Linens N Things, since she has so many records (currently packed) that she can't play. However, that one might have to wait until her birthday.
And I want to thank
dracschick for including me in a little short story of hers! I was mighty pleased! I even memoried it.
And If you'll allow a little fangirling over the last episode of 'Everwood' for a moment. Mostly about the Bright and Hannah scenes. I just think they are so adorable! Anyway, in this episode, Hannah's feeling a little insecure because she thinks she's not as pretty as the girls Bright used to go out with. Bright notices she's upset about something and asks her about it. She tells him about her insecurity. So Bright does some thinking and comes up with a plan. Later on, he invites Hannah over to his place so they can go out to eat. He then shuts her up in the bathroom. He tells her he wants her to take a good look in the mirror while he proceeds to explain what he finds beautiful about her. Now, here's where it gets interesting. She then says she'll need help in seeing what he sees in her, so they then... take a shower together. At first I was like O_O then I was like ^_^. I mean, Hannah's pretty shy (like me), and her instigating something like that is a pretty intimate gesture to say the least. But still, I sqeeed muchly. You know, in certain aspects, Bright and Hannah remind me a little of Rei and Kira from MARS. Mostly about how two people who are so opposite of each other, fall in love and start to bring out the best in each other. A smidge sappy? Yes, but good stuff nonetheless. *giggles*
Also, in that same episode, Ephram and Amy are starting to get closer to each other again. Well, close enough to have slept with each other, so I'm still holding onto my little candle of hope for them. Of course, the producers are saying they're gonna kill someone off in the 100th episode in the spring, so that kinda puts a damper on things. Truth be told, there isn't a single person on there that I wouldn't be utter devestated over if they ended up buying it. And if it's someone I really like, I'm gonna have to complain.
Saturday we went to a Christmas party held by some friends of ours. It was very nice and we had a really good time. I had to get my festive clothes from my grandma's house since that's where they were stored. I just wanted to make it back in time in order to watch FMA and SamCham, which we did.
