Well, I changed my layout. Ya like? Anyway, this will probably be a decent sized post to make up for the short one I did yesterday. Mostly my thoughts/review of a few things. First off:
This volume was a bit... gruesome. I shows Alucard being the nasty boy he is.
We see a lot more of my boy Pip. Yay!! Me likeys Pip.
Alucard in his "South American" garb. Sexeh. He looks like a cross between a pimp and a Colombian drug lord. Which could have been the look he was going for...
OK, I know Pip is supposed to be French, but the translators couldn't decide on whether or not he should have a French accent, or an English one... so they gave him a bit of both.
OK, the German doctor... just weird.
*sighs* Those cops didn't stand a chance, who are we kidding.
Yes, he likes to prove to us once and again exactly why he was called Vlad the Impaler.
The Dandy... what the..?
*tsk* Innocent bystanders should know better than to stand around when Alucard is fighting someone. Me, I'da been outta there faster than lighting strikes the ground.
Pip causing trouble (the good kind). Yes!
Aaaand... more omake from Luke and Jan. I tell ya, you can't keep a dead guy down.
Second:
Saw it on Saturday. Loved it!! Gonna see it again on Wednesday!
I feel so bad for Peter, trying to juggle being a superhero and have a (somewhat) normal life. I hate to tell ya Pete, it's not gonna happen. Then to find out the love of his life is dating another... And of course, Doc Ock showing up doesn't help matters any. On top of that, his powers start going wonky due to stress. He decides to give it up and is quite happy... for a while. But, problems come around, his loved ones keep getting threatened and he feels compelled to don the mask once more. Of course, it gets yanked off not once, not twice but three times.
Coolest fight scene: On top of the train. Then, trying to get the train to stop when the brakes go out (actually they were yanked out).
Best overall scene: The end, when MJ runs from her wedding and goes to see Peter (knowing he's Spidey now) and tells him her feelings for him and even though she knows the risks, she's willing to face them with him. *sniff*
And finally:
I've only seen the first two disks so far, but I'll give my impression anyway.
I'm liking it. So far, I like "NEXT" a bit better (mostly for the Z/A moments), but TRY is very promising. Valgaav seems like an interesting villian. I like that there's twists in this one. Like the one bad guy who turns out to not be such a bad guy after all (don't ask me his name, I forget).
Best fight scene: So far, I like the scene in which Zel uses the firearms. He just but the beat down on those lizard guys no sweat.
Best overall scene: Is really an entire episode. When they had to go to a temple at the top of a mountain (don't ask me what the mountain itself looks like, I'll just laugh) and they had to be paired off in male/female couples. Now, you think I like it because of the Z/A moment because they'd be the ones paired off (as well as L/G), but no. Zel gets paired with Lina and Amelia (much to her consternation) get paired with Gourry. Of course that was Jillas' (the eye-patch wearing fox henchman of Valgaav) whole point. Lina was blase about the whole thing (since she didn't have feelings of that sort for Zel) and Gourry was clueless (of course). Amelia was the only one really bothered by it (and I think we all know why ~_^) and was upset with the fact that she was upset. Of course Xellos and Filia were disgusted with the fact that they were paired with each other that they didn't even go (Xellos simply vanished and Filia stayed behind). It was just a cute episode all around.
Well, that's it. I think I'm going to give my fingers a break... Whew!!

Spoof episodes, eh? Sounds fun. I left off on a cliff-hanger (I hate that). I need to rewatch the last disk of NEXT (mostly so I can squee my cotton-pickin' lil heart out) so I can turn it in and get the next one of TRY.
