snapdragon76: this is made of win and awesome (Zel -- eyetwitch)
Well, today's my volunteer day. I'd enjoy it a lot better if it wasn't That Time Of The Month!!!! *grrr*

I like to describe it thusly:

Take a large knife, stab yourself in the stomach and yank across. At the same time, stab yourself in the back. That's what it feels like for me the first few days. Basically saying, it's bloody and painful.

I was at Best Buy, buying the new LOTR DVD and I spot... Slayers Premium. I snatch it up and pop it in when I get home. My thoughts:

I loved the interview with Crispin Freeman! He's really cute, too!! He seems to really like what he does and he likes the character of Zel, too. He seemed really down to earth and was a fan of anime in general. He also seems to be a fan of Z/A, too!! *sigh* Let the crushing commence.

What's this? Can it be? Yes! The animators made Zel even cuter!!! *swoon* He's so adorable!

Animation in general: Fantabulous! Everybody was drawn so well! Even Gourry was looking good! (not that he looks bad in general...) And there was a good mix of CG and traditional animation.

The voices of Lina and Amelia took a bit getting used to, esp Lina's. I guess I like series Lina a bit better. Gourry's wasn't too bad, Zel's: perfect. From what other's have been saying, they dislike Xellos', but since I haven't heard the regular one, I don't really have an opinion.

It seemed... short. I thought it would be a bit longer than a half-hour. *shrugs* Oh, well.

Naga makes a (very) brief appearance. I never saw any of the movies featuring her and Lina, so I have no opinion on this either.

OK, next time I watch, I'm watching with the commentary. I wanna hear what Crispin has to say!!

I just got the final disc of the Slayers first series in the mail from Netflix. When I get back from hospice, I'm popping it in so I can turn it back in so I can get started on NEXT. Whoo!!
