snapdragon76: this is made of win and awesome (Rin -- "Dreaming")
Kinda down right now. My "roomie" at work is making serious plans to move to Tennessee after the first of the year and I'm kinda jealous. Yes, I admit it. I too want to shake the dust of this two bit berg outta my shoes and move on up, but the lack of funds is preventing me from doing so. And she was talking of looking into a cabin she saw on craigslist and the knife just dug a little deeper.

Don't get me wrong, I'm genuinely happy she'll be moving up there. I think she'll do well up there and be happy. I just wanna move up there at the same time is all.

I just know I'm gonna get stuck with one of the other women coming in from the other location around the same time. With my current co-worker, we get along so wonderfully it's like we're part of the same person. I know she's not gonna go rat me out if I were to do something non-regulation or whatever (not that I do a LOT of non-work related stuff, just to let everyone know). She's the main reason I enjoy coming into work in the mornings. Pathetic, eh?

I'm trying not to dwell on it too much, because then I would come off as bitch and that's not something I really wanna do. Last thing I wanna do is to have the one person I get along with the most in the office giving me the cold shoulder. I'll just grin an bear it and try not to wish for various ways for the plans to be sabotaged. I'm not vindictive after all... not really anyway.

Aw. Man, I feel for you. I think people at my office kinda feel the same about me leaving too. It's hard when you have someone you actually like working with you. Often, with boring jobs, it's a great motivator! Don't feel bad about feeling this way.

Yeah, it helps a LOT with my job having someone I like working in the same room with me and conversing with about mundane (but fun) stuff.

It's a ways away yet, but I have a feeling it's gonna come pretty fast. Anyway, good luck with your move and everything! Did you hear anything about that museum job?

I didn't from them yet. Still hoping. They said they would get back to people even if the answer is negative, so I KNOW i'll get an answer. If I didn't get one yet, it's because they don't have one for me.

Well I have my fingers, toes and various other appendages crossed for you!

It's not pathetic at all to enjoy work due to co-workers. That's a big factor for people re: their happiness in their jobs. Finding someone you get along with well for all the hours you work with them is not something to take lightly! Your feelings are completely valid and understandable. :) I'd be upset and sad (but happy for her, of course, but that doesn't preclude your sadness), too!

How have you been finding Dead Until Dawn, btw? I am really enjoying it and have a lot of thoughts so far. About 3/4 into it now.

Yeah, good co-workers and a good boss make a crappy job seem better. It's still several months away from when the planned move is, so I'm gonna try and grin and bear it until then.

Thanks for hearing me out, though...

I like it so far. I heard the later books are even better, so I look forward to reading those! I especially look forward to meeting Eric! Yum!!

How far are you in the book? I've already met him. :D

I can't wait to talk to you about the differences between the show and the books!

Page 49.

I actually never got a chance to watch the first season and much of the second. I hope to remedy that soon. But spoilers don't bother me, so if you wanna spill, feel free!

I just finished the first book. I might make a post soon! Overall, the atmosphere was a bit different, and it focused on Sookie'e plotline. In that way there was more detail, but you didn't see other plotlines going on until the end. Some plotlines were made up for the TV show, though, and some characters too - it was strange to realize mid-book that a major character was missing. :( I am hoping they show up later in the book series, rather than being a 100% TN show invention.

Yeah, I heard the show took a few liberties, but were otherwise pretty true to the source material.
