notagimmick the lil minx...
1. Mystery Science Theater 3000: Geez, I wish I could remember exactly when it was that I got into MST3K. I think I was in high school and I caught it on cable once and I was hooked. Movies most normal people wouldn't watch made bearable by a guy and his three puppets. You can't get much better than that!
2. Manga: I think I've been into manga and anime for almost ten years now! That seems incredible to me! My first fandom was Inu Yasha, and while I'm not as into it as much as I was, it will always hold a place in my heart for me. There's no real turning back now. I think manga appeals more to me than western comics is the author and artist are usually one and the same and there's not this creative team switcheroo that there tends to be in western comics. I like consistency.
3. Technology Gadgets ♥: I get my gadget love from my grandpa. He was really into shiny new things. If he was still alive, Lord knows what all he'd have by now. They're just cool and sparkly (not Edward Cullen sparkly, but a whole lot cooler IMHO). "Ooooh! Lookit the neat thing THIS can do!!!"
4. Star Wars (I always think of that picture with the lightsaber XD ): The one of me with the lightsaber? Yessss... Anyway, I've kinda always been a fan since my parents took me and my sister to a drive in to see the very first one when I was a year old. I've kind of been in and out of the fandom itself ever since then, but when the Young Jedi Knoghts novels came out, I jumped right back in with both feet and have been immersed ever since!
5. Family (since yours seems really big !): Well, we're sorta big. My immediate family consists of me and my mom. My dad lives in Michigan, so I don't get to see his as often, but we still keep in touch. Holidays we go to my aunt's house for excellent food and fellowship. That's basically the only time I see my cousins... I also have extended family in Indiana that I don't have a tremendous amount of contact with due to distance and some lingering bad blood from an incident that occurred several years ago. I had a biological sister who died from a perforated ulcer when I was three, so my memories of her are very few. I had a step-sister with whom I was pretty close with, but she died several years ago. Maybe that's why I feel disapointed when I hear about family members with conflict between them. They could die before anything gets patched up and there's no way to reconcile anything...
Anywho, that's pretty much all.
