snapdragon76OK, since spoilers for Sacrifice have already surfaced and certain tidbits have leaked, heretofore are my thoughts... whether you want them or not.
Well, he goes and does it. He sacrifices someone. Turns out, it's Mara. *siiiiigh* I kinda liked Mara, too. But, aside from that, it looks like Jacen has majorly crossed a line. The kinda line that it's difficult, if not impossible, to come back from. I honestly don't know why the authors had to screw up his character like this. Why take someone who was so good and was intended to always be good, and have them do such a complete turnaround. I can understand if it was a character that was intended to be evil from the very beginning, it makes it easier (at least for me) to hate them.
I can't hate Jacen, despite what he's done and what he's becoming. I just can't. I feel more hurt than anything else. I feel as though I've grown up with him and to find out he's becoming this horrible evil person who thinks that what they're doing is for the right reasons. I know he feels justified because he wants to make a better place for his daughter to live in, but his priorities are seriously out of whack.
What of Ben, whom he claims to care about. He took away his mother. What of his Uncle Luke. His wife was taken away. At least she went out fighting to the end. But then Jacen had to shoot a poison dart at her in order to kill her. I guess that says a lot of both of their characters. Mara couldn't be taken down on a face to face duel and Jacen couldn't kill her the way a Jedi should be killed... equally matched. Hmmm...
Luke does figure that Lumiya plays a big role in this and dispatches her. This in itself is pretty significant since he seems to have done it out of anger (not that I blame him though). Everyone's all wondering what it all means now.
Now, Jacen is on his own pretty much, all Sithly and Darth Caedus and everything. And I weep in the loss of innocence. Not just Ben's, but Jacen's as well. I dunno if he can turn back from this, and I fear for him in a way. tenel_ka about that), I still think of the deeper implications of all these events. I just hope it ends well.
In other events, it seems Lumiya finds out about Allana when Jacen goes to visit her. He brings her a gift, which she names after him that way she can talk to it when he's not there. It's kinda sweet actually, but I kinda hope that Tenel Ka and Allana discover his fall to the dark Side and what he's been doing. They're too important to just leave on the sidelines, as is Jaina.
In any event, someone in his family needs to discover he's a daddy. I can just imagine that conversation...
Jaina: OMGWTFBBQ !!!!!11!!!1 I'm an aunt!?!
Zekk: Dude, I thought you were a virgin?
Jacen: I wouldn't talk if I were you Mr. Imagines-A-Threesome-With-My-Sister! TWICE!!
