Man, oh man. What a full weekend I have had. It's exhausting. Aren't weekends where you're supposed to relax?
Friday:
Well, I did hear back from the Medical Records person. I have an interview today at 2:00, so I have to try and type this up quickly. Since we're getting into to new television season, a lot of new shows are premiering (as well as returns of previous shows). Friday night was no exception. Mom had to actually work late on a Friday (which is usually rare) and we got a late start. Since Narnia is a decently long movie, we realized we wouldn't have time to watch it, so we postponed it to Saturday. We watched the season premier of NUMB3RS instead.
Saturday:
Most of the day we spent shopping. Mom wanted to go to this new store called Old Tyme Pottery, which sells all sorts of household goods. She was specifically looking for a particular type of picture frame for a picture she wants to hang up. She got all excited about seeing all the various stuff in there. She bought two pots and a measuring cup.
From there we went to Staples, because she was on the hunt for a file cabinet to put some of her genealogy paperwork in. She may have found something she could use, but she wanted to look around and see if she could find something else. I saw a printer/scanner/copier that I liked. I don't have a scanner of my own, I have to use mom's and someday I'd like to have one of my own. *crosses fingers*
Then came a stop to ghetto Wal-Mart to, again, look at filing storage. Again, she saw something she liked but still wanted to do more pricing...
We continued on to the next stop. Before that, though we saw a car wash going on where the proceeds were going to the Wildlife Animal Hospital. She, we got the car washed. It needed it and the money went to a good cause and I didn't have to do it myself, so it was good for everyone.
After that we stopped by this office furniture place that sold new and used office furniture to, you guessed it, look for a filing cabinet. She saw an industrial metal on with four drawers (the ones we saw previously had only two) that was in pretty good condition. She didn't get it though. For one thing, it wouldn't have fit in my car.
Then, it was time for my hair appointment. We were a bit early and so we looked at some other shops in the strip where the salon was. First stop was the pet store. Basically we were just browsing, but they had two dogs, a bunch of different birds, ferrets, some rats, midget hamsters and... a goat. Yes, I said a goat. A lil' black one. Then we went inside this one store called 'Tuesday Morning.' Basically your average discount store that had a little bit of everything. Mostly home decor. Mom got excited when she saw these basketball TV's. At this point, I was bored, so I headed to the salon. Mom came with me. I had to wait a bit before I went to get my hair cut. It's nice to have my hair look semi decent again.
We stopped by Kohl's since I've never been in there before. I'm glad I went. They have quite a few cute things in there. I got a new corduroy fall jacket. Very cute. I saw some shoes in there I wanted (and subsequently lusted after) and a few purses I liked. So I shall definitely make it a point to stop buy frequently...
Then came lunch. We tried this new place called Mimi's Cafe. It wasn't to bad. It's kind of New Orleans style food. They were a bit pricey, though. Mom and I decided that we probably wouldn't eat there on a regular basis.
Then, finally, we went to Wal-Mart to do our grocery shopping. We had a long list since we're not only getting stuff we ran out of, but we're stocking up on a lot of the major things we'll need to tide us over until the next pay period.
After that, we finally went home and crashed. Needless to say, we still didn't watch the movie because by that time, we were too darn tired.
Sunday:
Church, and I was able to wear my new jacket. After that, we went to Sears since my aunt had called mom the night before and mentioned there was a sale going on. Mom said she needed some new pants, so off we went. Pickings were pretty slim and she only ended up getting a few nice shirts for work. After that we had lunch and went home to relax some. Later on, there was a concert choir that my church was participating in, so we went to that in order to support them. It was pretty good, actually. After that, we went to visit a friend in the hospital for a few minutes. We came home and I spent the rest of the night battling a headache (which has since returned, so the battle rages on).
And it was my dad's birthday yesterday. I meant to call, but time got away from me and by the end of the day, I could barely keep my eyes open. In any event, Happy Birthday Dad!!
So this weekend was fairly full. Now, I just want to relax some, but I can't really since I have an interview at 2:00. Maybe after that I can...

Trivia of the day: The word sake, Japanese wine made from fermented rice, is shortened from the word sake-mizu, which translates to "prosperous waters."
