snapdragon76: this is made of win and awesome (Zel -- eyetwitch (ichiban_victory))
Well, so much for going to the pool yesterday. I was all set to go and guess what? It was closed again!! I think it does this on purpose. It thinks to itself, "I know Snap's planning on going swimming today. I think I'll have a breakdown so she can't go. Fwa fwa fwa fwaaaaaa..." I don't think TPTB really want me to swim. And if it's the pump again, I think the management needs to invest in a better system. It was just as well that I didn't go, since the skies decided to contribute to the frustration by dumping out every inch of water it's collected. Blargh.

So, since I apparently wasn't destined to go swimming, I took my shower and decided to try and organize my closet. Despite my previous claims to the contrary, I was able to find room for the shoes and the big bag o' desk stuff. I took a few things out that I'd use and crammed the rest in my closet. I had to do some clever rearranging in order to accomplish it, but I was successful. Now my room has even less of that refugee feel to it. Just don't open my closet.

I'd like to try to watch Kill Bill Vol. 1 on TNT tonight, but tonight is our movie night and it's mom's pick and somehow I doubt she'll pick it. However, this being TNT, they'll be replaying it ad infinitum, so I have a feeling that I'll be able to catch it again.

Well, I've got laundry to do and perhaps some manga to read.

I had a slight headache this morning and I took some Advil, so now I have a slight buzz. Whoo!

Trivia of the day: Kickers score more points than anyone else in professional football. George Blanda, who began his 26-year career in 1949 and ended it as a kicker in 1975, scored 2,002 points — more points than any other player.

Let me know what you end up watching/reading. Hope it's all fun!

Well, I've got no clue as to what movie mom will pick, but I'll try to let you know.

As to manga, I may read some Ouran Host Club... or TriMax.

If you get a chance to watch either Kill Bill 1 or 2, take it! They're really, really good. The first one specially is like a real-life anime. ;)

Well, if I miss it tonight, both part are being played again on Sunday, so I may watch it then.

Kenshin!!

Kenshin is probably my favorite anime character ever. I love the manga, too.

Yes, I have all the volumes plus the character profiles.

What's your favorite story arc? Mine is the Jinchuu Arc.

I'd have to say that it's a tie between the Kyoto arc and the Jinchuu arc for me. I like the Remembrance arc, too, but I always think of that as part of the Jinchuu arc. Do you prefer either Kaoru or Tomoe? I know a lot of people have a preference, but I like them both, although I'm more emotionally attached to Kaoru. :)I think they were both what Kenshin needed at different times in his life.

Yeah, I'd agree with you. I like both Tomoe and Kaoru, but Kaoru edges forward just a bit more since we see more of her and develop more of an attachment to her. All those people who say that did like Kaoru and say Tomoe is better have no idea what they're talking about. Sure, Tomoe was a good person, and was the person Kenshin needed at that particular point in his life, but Kaoru is just as important. Do they expect Kenshin to pine for her the rest of his life? Besides, Tomoe herself told him to go and find the "girl who is waiting for your smile."

Sorry if I rambled any...

No worries on that account; I'm the queen of rambling, as you can probably tell ...

And Kaoru gets a bad rap anyway (much like Meryl from Trigun does) by being loud and obnoxious. Psaw I say! She's 17! And her personality is totally different from Tomoe's. Besides, I think Kenshin likes that about her.

And, I only have two Kenshin icons...

I agree that Kaoru gets a bad rap. I've always thought that most of the characters in RK have a "comic" personality as well as a "serious" personality. Kenshin has an "Oro?" personality as well as his kickass side. Why can't people accept that Kaoru can be both the anime girl who can't cook and has temper flares and also the girl who loved Kenshin enough to follow him to Kyoto and who kicked ass at the Aoiya? Kaoru-bashing is one of my pet peeves.

Yes, I know. And of course, it was open yesterday.

I may have to rely on stealth tactics from now on.
