snapdragon76: this is made of win and awesome (Vash -- OMG!!! (undeadmiko))
We have these feathery toys called "Flutter Balls" and Ori likes to chew the feathers off of them. The other two (well, mostly Moon), just plays and pounces on them like cats tend to do. Like I said. Fruitcakes.

Well, my trip to the pool yesterday didn't go as planned. For some reason, it was closed. Now, the hours are from 8AM to 10PM and I went sometime in early afternoon. I went to go to the office to ask why it was closed, but the office was closed as well. I may try again either today or tomorrow depending. But I'll be sure to look and see if it's open first...

I have to print off some resumes for a job fair my mom's work is having tomorrow evening. I also have to get my "professional clothes" out. I'll go, but I'm not counting on anything. It'll probably be mostly secretarial stuff. Now, I have nothing against medical secretaries as a profession, I just don't think it's right for me. I've seen what all my mom has to do. It's not so much the hard work. I can handle that, it's the phones. I loathe talking on the phone. I think it has to do with my voice and the fact it's difficult for people to understand me over the phone. Sometimes even in person. Plus, I always sound awkward and flustered when I have to talk to someone over the phone. *shudders* Which is why I want to primarily focus on data entry, where all I have to do is sit at a desk and input stuff into a computer (kinda like what I do here, only I'd get paid for it).

Mom had a rough day at work yesterday and it's always a bit tense whenever she comes home. I'm all Ms. Avoidy because I just figure she doesn't want to talk about it. And then I feel tense because she feels tense and it's just a general heaviness in the air. I wish her boss would learn to appreciate her more. She works her ass off for him and he's all bitchy about something that she has absolutely no control over. I'd ask her to work somewhere else, but with the hours she has to work for him, it means more money which we need. Plus, she's been working for him for almost 8 years and not a lot of others really want to work for him because he's usually so difficult. So, I hope today will be much better for her than yesterday was.

Trivia of the day: Parsley is a common herb of the Mediterranean area and was well known to the ancient Greeks. They considered it too sacred to eat. Romans did serve it as a garnish and to improve the taste of food. They believed it had special powers and would keep them sober.

I used to loathe phones as well, but I've had to use them so much at the bakery now that I don't really care any more. Practice really is the best way to get used to anything, and learning to speak in a way that is easier to understand is also good. (For the past year or so I've been working on getting myself to slow down when talking to customers, and to annunciate better.)

Really, anything is possible if you're willing to try. Besides, I did data entry. It nearly did my wrists in with all of the repetitious movements.

Well, the situation's a bit different with me. I was attacked by a dog when I was seven and it did major damage to my vocal cords and it makes it difficult for me to be completely understood. I try to talk as loud as I can, but it's still a bit difficult.

I've gotten a bit better at it, but it's still a little hard for me.

Thank you. I am a bit nervous about it.

So am I. It'd be nice to cool off since it's so hot out.
