snapdragon76: this is made of win and awesome (Kureno -- color (flamika))
I had some ducks outside my window this morning being very vocal. I had to rap on the window to get them to knock it off. Stupid quackers...

Anyway, I have my evening all set for Friday night. I even have a coupon for the pizza I'm gonna order. Yay!

I have to go to do some errands today as well as stop by the bookstore to see what has come in. I'll try to reign myself in. I will admit to behaving myself very well recently, but only because I've had to.

I haven't had any comments to my posts recently. I know that sometimes there are lag times and that people have lives. If only I didn't angst about it. I mean, not totally, but just a twinge here and there.

OK, time for some pics. They're not random, but a few are some projects I've done, some are birthday related and one is for amusement.

One finished scarf. Not to bad, eh? Ignore the fact that one end is wider than the other...

My Furuba bookmarks that I made. I kinda like them...

My birthday sign my mom made me.

My birthday swag.

All the cards I got. Two are from my aunts, one is from my dad and step-mother and one is from [livejournal.com profile] dracschick.

A sign in one of the windows of my apartment complex. I just felt I had to take a picture of it.

Well, I plan to peruse my FL and eventually change my Bishie of the Month banner on my userinfo page, so I'm going to toddle off now!

Trivia of the day: The brilliant colors in a hummingbird's feather are created by tiny platelets that resemble a pancake filled with air bubbles. They are called "interference colors," and are much like the shimmering colors seen in a soap bubble or in a drop of oil.

I angst too, when people don't comment on my post. So here's a comment!

No, seriously, I love the scarf. I can't knit. I'm just awful at it. I should try again though.

Yay! A comment!!

Thank you. I can't knit either. This was crocheted. I was pretty pleased with myself. My mom said she wanted me to make one for her. So I'm kinda happy...

Nice scarf! What yarn did you use?
Date/Time: 2006-08-03 14:51 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] snapdragon76.livejournal.com
Thank you!

Just regular worsted wool. Medium weight.

OMG GORGEOUS layout!! :D

I'm back home!

Yay for pizza. I'm going to order some here soon, too, since all my dishes are packed away.

I understand the comments angst. I'm not getting any comments to my voice posts, but I figure people are just skipping them, and that's okay. *hugs*

That's a beautiful scarf. Good job! I didn't even notice the width until you pointed it out. Makes it unique! Very cool bookmarks too.

HAPPY 30TH BIRTHDAY! I hope it was great. How did you celebrate? AWESOME Veronica Mars! Let me know what you think of the DVD!! I've heard great things about Mystery Science Theatre.

Cute newlywed picture. :)

Ain't he though? It's Jacen Solo from one of the Japanese book covers of the New Jedi Order series. *drooool*

Welcome back!!!! Glad you got back safe and sound! *glomps*

Yummmm. I don't get to have pizza often since my mom is allergic to wheat, so this is a rare treat for me.

Yeah, I would've listened to your voice posts, but I generally listen to music when I read my FL, and I didn't want them to have to compete with each other...

Why thank you! It's not too bad for my first project, eh?

Thank you! It was a small celebration. Mom took me out to lunch the weekend after, which was nice. And I plan on watching the First Season Friday night when I eat my pizza, so I shall let you know then. Mom is becoming a fan as well since we've been recording the second season. When I got the DVD's she's like "Now I can find out what happened the Firtst Season!" I've gotten to the point where I fangirl whenever I see a Logan!Xterra on the road. She even points them out herself!

And you should definitely check out MST3K. I think you'd like it.

I know. I chuckled when I saw it...

Damn, this is one long comment...

Awesome! New VM fans is always exciting news. :D Let me know what you think of the first season! I will definitely try to check out MST3K somehow. I've been meaning to for years.

Yeah, especially since I'd come into the fandom late and missed quite a few episodes. I saw some torrents, but not all of them.

You should give it a try. And let me know what you think once you do. You might want to try Netflix. They're great! I love them!

We don't have Netfix in Canada. We have an equivalent, but I'm not sure how good it's supposed to be. I might give it a try sometime in the fall, but for now I have enough of my own DVDs I need to watch! I can see if I can rent it, or if I can download a clip somewhere...
Date/Time: 2006-08-04 18:48 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] snapdragon76.livejournal.com
Shame on there not being any Netflix in Canada! I mean, you guys are Region One on DVD's, right?

Anyway, if you do getthe chance to pick one (or a few) up, do so. I think you'll like them.

Yes. There are a lot of American things we don't have, unfortunately. :( Most of the time it sucks, but sometimes it's good. :)

I'm sure there's certain Canadian things that we can't get here. Not that I know of any off the top of my head, beings that I'm an American and have traveled only a scant few times to O Canada.

Oh yes, definitely. We have some good chocolate bars. :)

Oh, don't mention chocolate...

Sweet Baboo?!
Sounds like something my mom calls me when we're just getting over an arguement or I'm in super angst mode.

the scarf looks awesome... and for the one side being bigger than the other... thats okay... that bigger end is so you can cover your mouth and not have to breathe in the cold air.

I would kinda like to know what each of the bookmarks say if they each say something different.
Date/Time: 2006-08-03 15:23 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] snapdragon76.livejournal.com
Yeah, she's called me that for as long as I can remember...

Thanks. It's not super noticeable, but I guess it bothers me because I didn't want there to be too many flaws, but since it's my first one, there were bound to be I guess.

The Jyuunishi bookmarks all have their human form and their animal form on them and the text has their name and "Year of the..." on them. I even made one for Tohru, but I put "Year of the Onigiri" on it!

Akito's says "Jyuunishi God and Sohma family head."

Yay, pictures! ^__^

That's a great scarf! What yarn did you use for it? I love the blue tones. ^_^ Likewise your bookmarks turned out wonderfully! ^__^ What did you write on Akito's? I can't make it out. >_<;

^___^

Thank you! Not too bad for my first attempt of actually making something! I used medium weight worsted wool. Since I'm just getting started, I wanted to use a fairly simple yarn type. Blue happens to be my favorite color.

And thank you for the compliment on my bookmarks! I've made a bunch of them. I made one for [livejournal.com profile] kawaiiayu that has her name and its definition on it. She really liked it!

Akito's says: Akito Sohma Jyuunishi God & Sohma family head.

I couldn't exactly put "Year of the Tsubaki" on it, now could I?! *chuckles*
