snapdragon76: this is made of win and awesome (Wolfwood)
I was watching 'Ladyhawke' the other day and I had almost forgotten what a cool film that was.

I made [livejournal.com profile] peanutcat's gift for her. She really liked it. I also made a non-personalized version of it as well as a textless version. The finished result:

Pretty nice, huh? I'm going to put it in my userinfo since I have officially dubbed Hakkai as my "Bishie of the Month." I think Amon will be July's.

Speaking of banners, see this:

The countdown until my 30th Birthday. I have it in my userinfo as well... I just need to find a way to tell mom that I want a bowling birthday party.

I went to see "X-Men: The Last Stand" yesterday. My thoughts:

The guy who plays Angel -- hot

Wolverine -- hot

Cyclops -- hot

I knew that both Prof. X and Cyclops bite it in this one, but it was still a bit of a surprise. I mean, Cyke hardly got any screen time at all and Prof. X barely got much more than that. What came as a (sort of) surprise was Jean dying (not as surprising as in the second one, though). But then, this has happened numerous times in the comics, so...

Rouge was severely underused. I mean, she angsted for a bit, and then decided to 'cure' herself. I mean, I can see why she wanted to what with her power being what it was, but I still wish she'd had more screen time. She missed the big battle in the end.

I love the Beast! I think Kelsey Grammer did a terrific job as Hank. I mean, I did have some doubts, but I think he pulled it off excellently. He even said the signature line, "Oh my stars and garters."

The effects were excellent. The scenes that stood out to me the most were the ones where Jean had taken refuge at her family's home and the battle that ensued there and the final battle on Alcatraz. Cool stuff.

And yay for a Danger Room/Sentinel cameo!

Well, due to me being a complete spazz this morning, I totally forgot what time I was supposed to leave for my doctor's appointment and since I was a half hour late, I had to reschedule... for September. I don't think the secretary was too happy with me since I missed my previous one as well, but I actually had a legitimate excuse that time...

Trivia of the day: In 1966, Elliot Handler, one of the co-founders of Mattel, Inc. and part of the Barbie doll empire, was the inventor of Hot Wheels®. Handler experimented with axles and rotating wheels being attached to tiny model cars. The innovative gravity-powered car he developed had special low-friction styrene wheels. Hot Wheels® have been clocked at speeds of up to 300 miles per hour.

I started watching it due to mom since she's a big Rutger fan as well and I simply fell for it.

My favorite scene: After the wolf almost falls through the ice and Isabeau is lying next to him and he starts to transform... but Isabeau is still human yet and they barely touch... *sniffles*

Originally, Anne Rice modeled Lestat on Rutger Hauer. Then, when the movie went to production, he was too old to play the character. A shame, really. Hauer could do a really good vampire character. Though he was in the originally Buffy movie (not with Sarah Michelle Geller, but, rather, with Kristy Swanson), I dunno, I didn't like the movie so I don't count that one.

Yeah, I had read about that. I think she was pleased with Tom Cruise after she saw the movie, so it worked out.

I can't imagine why. Could it have something to do with the words 'Vampire Slayer' in the title, maybe?

Yeah, I'm gonna eventually get it too. But then I'll probably get the majority of the comic book based films because I'm a geek.

Hell, I'll probably even get the novelization of the film because I'm a big dork that way...
