snapdragon76: Did I mention that I like reading? (books)
School will be starting up again in a week or so, and I feel a mix of excitement and nervousness. I know I can do well since I did so well last semester (aside from the GA debacle), but it’s been quite a few months and I have to gear myself up again. It helped that I was on campus every day and could work on school stuff will relatively little distraction. This time, I’ll be at home with many temptations around. I do think I’ll be going to the public library quite often so that I can have a quiet environment with little to no distractions and that will probably help quite a bit. Plus, it’ll get me out of the house some as well.

First I need to get my car fixed. I should be getting my student loan money within the next few days, so I can pay for my tuition and my books as well as other expenses. I’m getting quite a bit this time around so that we can finally get some things taken care of that’s been neglected, like my car and paying off a few things, in addition to getting a few things we’ve been wanting for awhile, like a new washing machine and a chest freezer. I’m not gonna go crazy though. I did contact a financial advisor so that I can get the ball rolling on saving for retirement. I need to be employed first and foremost. Hopefully, I can find opportunities fairly soon after graduation. I have to reconcile the fact that I may not find anything local and will have to relocate. I’m trying not to think about it too much at present.

Some friends of mom’s will be in the area on Labor Day weekend and are going to stop by on their way to a wedding in North Carolina. I know mom is looking forward to it, and we’ve been cleaning the house like crazy. We reorganized the basement some since I’m getting a new bed soon and we’re gonna put the twin bed down there. We’re also going to rearrange the garage so that we can have a place for the chest freezer as well as my bedroom so that my full sized bed will fit better. I’ll try to post pictures when I’m finished.

The weather is becoming more temperate as the month goes on, which I’m glad for. Summer is my least favorite season and it seems to last the longest. I could be exaggerating, but it really does feel like it takes forever. I have yet to use the swimming pool since we got our pool key, and now that public school has started here, it should be less crowded during the week. I guess I should get busy and get swimming before it gets too cold to do so.

Before I finish, something… weird has been going on next door. We got new neighbors about five to six months ago (who were a MASSIVE improvement over the old ones), and they spent a lot of time effort and money to get it fixed up with new appliances and the like when they moved in. They were pretty nice and they said they liked how quiet the area was. Then, today, there was a U-Haul in front of their place and it was being loaded up with a lot of stuff, including the porch furniture and the bird feeder. I was curious, so when I went to get the mail, I peeked inside the mailbox and saw a change of address notification inside. I wonder what would make them pull up and move when they bought the condo and had it all fixed up for them to live in. It makes me wonder…
