Well, the car got back safe and sound. I hope I didn't make it sound like as big a deal as it seemed. I guess I'm a little protective of my stuff... Anyway, mom's car is having problems of it's own. The part they said that was needed... went to somewhere else in the state. I swear, if this wasn't actually happening to us, this might make for an episode of a sitcom or something... Believe it or not, I sometimes wonder what kind of show it would be if I had cameras following me around 24/7. Pretty boring most likely. Then people would see what a dork I really am! But I'm not bothered. I've learned to embrace my dorkiness...

Last night was a bit of an adventure in itself. Mom was going to take us (my aunt and uncle and myself) to the storage unit she rented to stash the stuff we're getting from grandma (not only do we have this storage place, but the PODS one from when we moved. Life is full of irony). Anyway, it has 24 hour access, but there's a gate to the storage unit for security purposes and mom was trying to punch in her code to get it opened. Not only that, but there were guys on the other side with a big truck that was stuck in there. They told mom that the guy they were hauling stuff for told them to meet him at the storage place. He met them there and they were unloading, but then he left... and took the code to open the gate with him, so the guys were stuck. Well, it turns out, the code that was given to my mom was the wrong one and the gate wouldn't open. So she had to call the service number in order to get the right one. Meanwhile, the guys with the truck were still stuck inside. Luckily, there was a car behind them and he had the right code and he let them out. Mom eventually got the right code, and we were able to go in ourselves. *sighs* See, another sitcom episode right there.

Afterward, we went and ate at this new hot dog and ice cream place not far form my aunt's house. It was pretty good.I'd probably go there again.

I just LOVE the mental image of those guys with the truck sitting on on the other side of the gate waiting for it to open. We have a storage unite that's protected like the one you're talking about, but I have yet to see anyone get stuck inside. ^_^

Hmmm, I never thought of it that way. If it were me, I'd try to scale the gate and find a way of getting the truck out. Of course, knowing my luck and inability to climb, I'd probably fall flat on my face...
