snapdragon76: this is made of win and awesome (HP -- vapors (cleolinda))
Well, I never said I wasn't a conformist. Like practically everone else this weekend, I went to see "Goblet of Fire." I am glad I did though, 'cause I really liked it. I went with a friend of mine who wanted to see it too. Now, onto my opinions:

I liked it. I saw the first two movies and part of the third one (which I still want to see completely). Now even though I have yet to read the book, I'm still versed enough in the fandom to know the basic gist of what was going on. I know there were those who complained that certain things were cut out from the book, but you have to remember, it was a really thick book. And if they'd left everything in it, I'd probably still be in the theater watching it. I will focus on the key points I liked, however.

The twins: I love the twins! They are so funny! Especially when it came to finding dates for the Yule Ball. Classic. And the two of them trying to trick the Goblet of Fire by submitting their names for the TriWizard Tournament. *snickers*

Cedric: Ohhh, Cedric. You hottie. *droooool* Everytime he came on screen, I almost entirely focused on him and tuned out the rest. Notice I said almost. But why oh why did he have to be killed off?!?!?! Grah!! And the whole emotional scene when Harry brings his body back and his dad then loses it (along with Harry). Seriously intense stuff. *sniffles* But he was so noble in going out like that, trying to protect Harry even though they were rivals and all...

Myrtle: *giggles* She's a bit of a flirt, isn't she? But that was cute though. I had to chuckle at how awkward Harry felt with her there. I can't say as I blame him, though.

Speaking of which, Dan's becoming quite the heartbreaker, isn't he? He's definitely becoming a little cutie.

Cho: How cute was Cho? I mean, I never expected a cute Scottish brouge to come forth from a little Asian girl. I don't know why not, though.

Neville: Whoa, he looks so different! I mean, the first few movies he was a little chunky, but he's much taller and thinner in this one. I had to do a double take a few times. And I'm glad he got more screen time.

Draco: Ha! I loved when he was turned into a ferret by Moody. Served him right, the little weasel...

Hagrid: I loved how he found love with the French Headmistress. I thought that was really sweet.

Ron: Ron was fun as always. In a way I'm sorta glad he and Harry had thier disagreement (and then made up). I mean, it keeps it real. And how he was all jealous of Hermione and Krum at the Yule Ball. I felt bad for him though, decked out in those awful formal robes his mom sent him...

Ginny: *squee* I think she's so cute...

Voldemort: Back to his nasty ways, I see. I think I hate him forever now due to the fact he KILLED CEDRIC!!!! *stabs* And Ralph Fiennes pulls off creepy really well. I mean, he was creepy in 'Red Dragon,' too. I read [livejournal.com profile] cleolinda's LJ on her reaction to the movie, and she called him Hotdemort. *giggles*

I loved how Snape pushed his sleeves up when he disciplined Ron and Harry for talking. He heee. And when Filch was dancing with his cat during the Yule Ball... What? You've never done that before?

All in all, an excellent movie. I do want to see it again. Maybe today...

On another note, I was super annoyed at the people in the row behind us. I mean, one kept kicking the back of my chair and some others kept getting up and down for what seemed like very five minutes. That put a damper on my whole movie going experience if you ask me...

Well, that's it for this installment of .:reflections of twilight:. Tune in tomorrow for more...

I know. I love Ginny. I think her crushing on Harry is adorable.

*blushes* Why thank you!

I went to see it again yesterday and I did pick up on some additional stuff, like for instance:

That Draco's two flunkies, Crabbe and Goyle, have parents that are also Death Eaters like Lucius.

And that Barty Jr. killed (or was involved with the death of) Neville's parents who were Aurors.

And I think Cedric also had an 'encounter' with Myrtle when he was figuring out the clue for his egg. He had that little smirk when he told Harry about it...

Good catches! The last one doesn't happen in the books (Myrtle just watched Cedric in the bath), but it's nice innuendo in the movie. :)

Fanfic in this fandom can get kinda scary, so I tend to stay away from it...
