snapdragon76: this is made of win and awesome (Default)
Well, I did it. I made the Soleta icon I was talking about in my last post.

Isn't she pretty?

I do plan on using it, but if anyone want to swipe ([livejournal.com profile] soleta_nf this is mostly directed at you), you can.

If anyone is wondering where I got the picture from, I got it from here. Click on crew.

Thank you. Due to a very helpful tutorial, I was able to get it the way I liked.

I was prompted into making one due to the fact I always feel like crying everytime I read 'Pain Management.' Yet, I keep on reading it...

Me too. So sad, but I keep on coming back for more because it's *that* good...

Well, I'm an angst whore at any rate and she's one of my favorite characters...

Neat! I will definitely snag. And, yes, you should post to [livejournal.com profile] stnf.

I just might. Tomorrow, though.

I have a request actually. Could I get a version of that icon without text, or with "Soleta" on it? Thanks. :)

Certainly. It'll be your prize for the panties thing:

How's that?

*is impressed with speed at which she turned it out*

Thanks! I'm glad you like it.

I'm pretty impressed with it myself...

Actually, I was just comparing the icons, and could I get the filter you had on the original? I like it the way it was, I just wanted the text changed. Sorry if I'm asking a lot. And thanks! (Yay for prizes!)

Sure... if I can remember exactly how I did it...

Did you make the original icon with different layers? In that case, all the layers of the original should be saved and you should be able to just change the text. If you've already merged the layers, try un-merging. If it's too much trouble, don't worry about it, I just like how you had the picture originally.

I know I used layers, but trying to get one of them (the gradient layer), to look exactly as it was on the first one, might take some doing.

But I'll play around while I have the original as a refrence.

Another idea, if you can't find the screen layer that was on the original icon, if to take the spots off this icon. I liked how they were softer in the original, but you could also just take them out. Thanks.

I think it has to do withthe fact I used a dark gradient over the second one as opposed to the first. That might've had something to do with it...

Sorry it's a pain. :S Don't worry about it if it's too much trouble.

Does this work:

I tried to get it exact. It's a lot lighter than the other one.

No worries. I feel flattered that you'd want me to make an icon of any sort!

I still have a lot to learn, but I think I'm getting there!

I still prefer the brightness of the other one, but I like this too. Thanks! :)

T_T

Sorry! If I had known, I'd have kept a plain base of the original...

Maybe I should look into that for the future.

It's not a problem. :) Thanks again!

Yes, many people save different versions of their icons - with text, without text, etc. I also save the layered version in a Photoshop file, so I can go back in later and play with the layers.

I shall definitely keep that in mind for future refrence.

But, I'm glad you still like it, though...
