Random musings... and even *more* Hot Gimmick!!

Well, this weekend was a good one. We spent Mother's Day over at my aunts. My cousin had brought over 'National Treasure' which we watched. It was pretty good. I got mom a copy of 'Phantom of the Opera' for Mother's Day, which she really enjoyed. We watched it Friday (which was part of the reason I gave it to her earlier). My cousin got my aunt a small Venus Flytrap as well as a 'magic wand' to turn my uncle into a fly if he gets too much under her skin. It was a gag gift, but still cute.

The ATACT forum is up and running. We're going pretty strong, too. I'm pretty proud. I even added the link to my link list on the side. I've gotten a few requests to fix some of the colors, which I shall hope to do sometime soon. Annnd, I made myself a banner for my signature! Wanna see?



I'm pretty proud myself. Which, ironically, makes a pretty good segue if you ask me.

I was able to get the last two volumes of 'Hot Gimmick' this past week-end. I still don't have 5 & 6 yet, which I will correct as soon as possible. *wink* Anyway, I've just completly goten sucked into this series! Now, ordinarily, I don't tend to read a series more then once or twice (the exception is Furuba), but this one I've been going through three or four!! Anyway, it seems that Ryoki and Hatsumi are really a couple now, despite some bumps on the road. A few of the scenes I like was after the break-in at Hatsumi's apartment, and Ryoki stopped by and was able to offer her some comfort. I thought that was really cute. And how she panicked after Ryoki had told her that he told his mom about them (yeah!!), and she was worried not because of her family being given the cold shoulder, but that Mrs. Tachibana might not let them see each other any more. *giggles* And I also noticed that Ryoki has a nice smile... And I've also noticed that throughout the series, they seem to have quite an effect on each other. Like how Hatsumi is starting to stand up for herself and that Ryoki is showing a softer side.

Another thing I liked was how at the end of volume 8, there was this really cute flashback to when Hatsumi's family first moved into the company housing. There she first meets Ryoki. And the surprising thing is, it shows that Ryoki had a crush on her from the beginning! He just covered it up by being mean to her (as boys tend to do). At the time he shoved her down the stairs was an accident that he felt utterly horrible about. He just didn't want to share her with anyone. Well, he still doesn't in fact. I just found the whole thing to be completely adorable!! Not the accidental stair shoving but the whole fact that he's had a crush on her from the start. I really hope volume 9 comes out soon. I read a synopis, but that's not quite the same thing.


Anyway, I have quite a few things to do today, like make header banners for my profile and do more scanning and finish up my thing for kawaiiayu.

EDIT: Oh, yeah I meant to add, kawaiiayu, I got your letter Saturday! I hope to send out your reply, soon.

I don't think I'm going to read/look for any summaries, I kinda wanna save it for when it's released. Plus, with the way this series has been drawn out, I don't think anything major is going to happen. BUT, I am curious as to what's going to happen with Shinogu. Logically, I doubt the author would plan to hook Hatsumi up with her brother, even if it is only by adoption. I don't think the readers would go for it... not after everything her and Ryoki have been through.

OMG Ryoki's face after Hatsumi tells Mrs. Tachibana where to shove it is absolutely priceless. That whole scene is brilliant. It took a lot of guts on Ryoki's part to actually say in front of his mother that it's up to Hatsumi... *sighs* He knows what everyone thinks about the two of them together and he pretty much said, 'screw that!' right to HIS MOTHER!!!!!!!

Yes, Vol. 8 has been quite eventful. I am constantly amazed by the artwork, it's soooooo well done... the angle, the detail... Hatsumi's eyes are so gorgeous *dies* XD!!!

Yeah, well I've been periodically downloading scans and reading translations of latest stuff and things do get interesting... However I will refrain from saying anything for your benefit. ~_^

*giggles* Yeah, I liked that scene as well. And then there was that bitch (pardon my French) Rui flaunting and flirting in front of him like that. He just ignored her... And then of course his little threat about if anyone were to insult Hatsumi in front of him like that... *g* Basically saying, "Yes, we're dating and if you don't like it, you can kiss my ass."

Hell yeah!!! It's amazing how defensive they are getting about it. I'm curious to know how people will react to this blatent THEM in everyone's face, ya know. And espially Ryoki's mom, I don't see how she could ever get used to it. But then again, what can she do other than cut off Hatsumi's family. But if she does that, Ryoki will make her life a living hell.

You see the neighbors afterwards (I think after the break-in in vol. 7, another fave scene of mine), they're all sucking up to Hatsumi and everything. I think at that point, they might be more intimidated by Ryoki than his mom.

I have a feeling Mrs. Tachibana has something up her sleeve in regards to trying to sabotage the two of them... the bitch.


Oh, I added a Ryoki/Hatsumi colorbar to my userinfo. It's gotten that bad...
