Wow. I was able to see the scans from Ch. 105 (thanks Mona & Thigi). This is one seriously intense chapter! But, for those who choose not to be spoiled, my summation will be under the cut!
Haru goes to confront Akito and he is seriously pissed. So pissed he never even takes his shoes off when he goes inside. Akito is sitting at a table and appears to be reading. Haru enters and demands to know why she did what she did to Rin (shove her out a window). Akito acts all blase and feins ignorance. Haru, however, won't hear any of it and starts yelling at her. Akito remains calm and asks Haru why he cares so much. He says (shouts, actually) that he cares because he loves Rin. Kureno then appears and tell him that Rin's in the hospital and that he found her in the Cat's quarters. Akito is stunned and asks Kureno why he betrayed her (by telling Haru the truth). Haru is insensed and turns on Akito, grabbing her. He tells her that what she did was unbelievably cruel and that she should die and he should as well. However, he stops himself and punches the wall next to her instead. Akito crumples to the floor, begging Haru not to leave her and thinking back to a time when both of them were younger and got along. Haru also has flashbacks to the times when he and Rin were younger and he'd loved her even when they were kids and he was able to comfort her when she had a nightmare. Kureno goes to Haru and tells him to go and see Rin in the hospital and explains that the first thing she said when she was found was his name. He goes and leaves. Akito is curled up on the floor, nearly broken. This is the first time any of the Jyuunishi ever stood up to her with such violence, particularly one she was close to. She mentions how they were supposed to love her and she cries out to her father. Then we see Rin wake up and (I think) calls out for someone.
This chapter was full of a bunch of Haru/Rin moments that made me happy. Rin was so cute when she was little and Haru was so sweet to her. And Rin does look pretty cute with her hair shorter. I also feel bad for Akito. She just got a major dose of reality that she can't play games with people and expect to always come through it unscathed. Maybe this is the point she needs to realize she needs to reevaluate her relationships with the Jyuunishi themselves. I kinda hope that's the case. Maybe it'll start a change in her life. I think this is the first time she's been truly devastated, enough to have her cry out to her dead father. And Kureno is such a sweet guy. He put his neck out on the line for Rin's sake, knowing the consequenses that could occur. THis is why this is such a good chapter. It makes you care so much for fictional characters. This whole series is like this!
I had a couple of weird dreams last night. One was where I was a bass player at the church and was toatally into it. The other was I was going to college somewhere and was in the library and I was looking for manga and I found a copy of Furuba in Spanish! It looked like an older copy since the pages were sorta yellowed and worn. Also, the comics pages had various strips on the reaction to what happened in the latest chapter! Weird!
Quote of the day: "Our intellect and other gifts have been given to be used for God's greater glory, but sometimes they become the very god for us... we are losing out balance when this happens. We must free ourselves to be filled by God. Even God cannot fill what is full." --Mother Teresa
