Well, my first day at work in a different building. Over all, it wasn't too shabby. The scanner hasn't been hooked up yet (or even been delivered), so I was filing most of the day. It wasn't too bad. I made sure to wear more comfortable shoes this time. And, best of all, no Bitchy Boys!
My weekend was fairly full.
Saturday:
The morning we had a baby shower to attend. Being the last minute souls that we are, we bought the gifts before we went. Thank goodness for in store gift wrapping. Baby clothes are so cute!
Afterwards, we went home, I changed since I was wearing a skirt and went to get my new tires put on. It was a good chunk of change, but it needed to be done, so it was a well spent chunk of change. I guess my MacBook will have to be put on the back burner for now...
After we had that done, we stopped by AC Moore's because mom wanted to check out their frames and stuff. I was preoccupied by other things. It's a yarn lovers Heaven. It has a very nice selection. There was this really pretty hand-dyed yarn from Peru! I may have to pick some up sometime. While I was there, I picked up the yarn for
kawaiiayu's gift and some various sized hooks. I also found a freebie poncho pattern I liked, but I may be awhile before I get to make it since it's a bit more advanced that where I am at the moment.
Then we got groceries and went home. Man, what a full day that was...
Sunday:
We went to church. We found out that one of our dear friends who struggled for quite some time with cancer finally succumbed the night before. He was a big teddy bear of a guy and will be greatly missed. His funeral will be on Wednesday which mom and I would like to attend.
The majority of the day we spent at home, kicking back. Mom was putting together the new behind the toilet cabinet we got. Me, I was online the majority of the time, trying to catch up.
I'm trying out the new Yahoo! Beta mail. It's pretty nice, except that I don't have my avatar anymore. I kinda miss having my iconized self blinking back at me. However, the trade off is that I can organize my mail into different categories. I can separate my LJ stuff from my News Groups and forum stuff, which is really nice.
Well, I must shower and change into much more comfortable clothing.

Trivia of the day: Artist Xavier Roberts first designed his soon-to-be-famous Cabbage Patch dolls in 1977 to help pay his way through school. They had soft faces and were made by hand, as opposed to the hard-faced mass-market dolls, and were originally called "Little People."
