What a long weekend. I am a bit glad to have things 'back to normal.' I guess I'll have to appreciate long weekends after I find employment again. But, I'll still do a bit of a rundown in case anyone is curious...
Friday:
Well, like I had mentioned before, things really didn't happen. We did do a bit of window shopping for a brief while. We went in to a store called 'Linens & Things' which is sort of similar to 'Bed, Bath and Beyond.' I like those kind of stores because they have a lot of interesting things in there. Mom and I found a turntable in there which would be useful since she has a whole bunch of records that she can't play. I saw a shower CD player, which is something I've wanted for awhile now.
Next, we ventured into 'The Rag Shop.' It's more for crafty types (which I am not). However, I did find a box of beads for jewlery and stuff, which I kinda like to do. It has possibilities...
Next was a shoe store. I knew I was in trouble right from the start. I saw about two pairs of shoes and a pair of boots that I liked. Let's just say, I have a thing for shoes. I get it legitimately, though. My grandma likes shoes also. But part of hers is because she has a very narrow foot and therefore she's hard to fit. So when she finds shoes in her size, she has to snatch them up. Me, I have a regular sized foot, I just like shoes.
There was a home decor place there, but it didn't really cater to our tastes. I mean, ours are basic, simple tastes and the store had more exotic flavor.
We also browsed a mattress store. This one we took a bit of interest in since I want to eventually switch to a regular mattress when we move so I can free up some space since my waterbed is kinda long.
After that was 'Pier 1' and we just breezed through it, not even bothering to linger.
We were going to go to the leasing office of the apartments we want to get into, but they were closed for a bit and mom didn't feel like waiting around. Plus, she was kind of tired, so we didn't go to the post office to try and figure out our mail problem.
Saturday:
Mom had to go early and take grandma to the bank and post office. They went to the other one since mom wanted to ask about the mail problem (as previously mentioned). However, it turnes out, they don't handle our zip code, so they couldn't really help us. The lady did provide a phone number to call. I just hope mom calls them soon since I'm expecting someting fairly important.
The majority of the day was spent at a graduation party for one of mom's co-workers. It was a nice little party held at Carraba's. I had the Chicken Marsala and it was pretty good. I also polished off two pieces of chocolate cake...
Sunday:
Our church was hosting a fish fry for the community after the services. I had to run and fetch lunch for mom, grandma and myself since we had to provide our own. I didn't stay for the fry (I know, shame) so I went home.
Now for the past almost four weeks we've been here, the lady we're staying with has had her granddaughter stay over on the weekends... the whole weekend. Now, don't get me wrong, she's a nice little girl, not bratty. She's just a typical 10 year-old who happens to be a bit messy at times. *looks at the breadcrumbs scattered on the floor and weeps* Mom was telling me later on that, although she'd love to have her grandchildren over (provided she ever aquires any. A-HEM), she wouldn't have them over every. Single. Weekend. But, I hold my tounge. I just hope she doesn't want to stay here during Winter Break... *cringes*
I was also successful in downloading and installing the newest version of LimeWire, and this one seems to like me better. *cheers*
Well, that's it for now...
