snapdragon76: this is made of win and awesome (Near -- huh? (flamika))
I was a busy little bee yesterday. I ran some errands. Mostly I went to get a few groceries of stuff we were running out of. When I got back, the urge to try an reorganize some things struck me for some reason. Since it doesn't happen all too often, I figured I'd take the opportunity to go with it.

Now mostly I just culled some of my magazines. I cut out the articles I wanted to keep, and tossed the rest of them. That freed up some room so I could move things around and condense a few things. Alas, I didn't really get rid of any boxes per se, but I was able to rearrange things so that it freed up a bit more floor space. Things still look a bit crammed, but not like it was before, so yes it is an improvement.

I finally finished mom's scarf. She really liked it and I've started on another one. I'm doing the double crochet stitch this time instead of the single one, and even though I've gotten about three rows done, I feel I may have to undo them. It's too narrow. But, it's good I realize this now then before I get too far into it.

And it's time for another meme. This one looks to be pretty cool. Ganked from [livejournal.com profile] kawaiiayu who herself ganked it from [livejournal.com profile] flamika:

Look at your LJ userpics list. If you have fewer than 50 icons, pick every fifth one. If you have between fifty and seventy-five icons, pick every seventh one. If you have over seventy-five icons, pick every tenth one. If you have fewer than ten, pick all of 'em. List them on your LJ, and tell everyone exactly why you have it, why it's interesting to you, what significance does it have.

Rei Kashino from the manga series MARS. I love the series a lot, and I really liked this particular image of him.

and the rest... )

Well, that's all for now. I've got sheets to wash...

Trivia of the day: Although many food writers have translated the Italian "antipasto" as "before the pasta," its literal meaning is "before the meal."

Well, it's Wednesday. Ordinarily it's a relatively slow day for me in the chore department, but mom wants me to clean the ceiling fans in the computer room and the living room "...since you did such a good job on the one in your bedroom." *groan* I had wanted to watch "LXG" today since it's the only day I'd ever really get to. Maybe I still can. And I finally got to make those brownies. They turned out pretty good.

Tomorrow I have my hospice thing. It's not so bad, the whole drive over. I kind of like driving. I just hope I don't squirm too much. Sometimes the chairs can get a bit uncomfortable and I have to shift in order to keep my rear from going numb. The lady who's in charge of my group told me it makes it seem like I'd rather be somewhere else. I'm like, "No, I'd just rather be in a more comfortable chair." I didn't say that of course. I didn't want to seem flippant or anything. ~_^

Well, I wrote a little fic. I'll not post it yet because it still needs a bit of work. I have no beta reader, so I have to do it in bits and pieces. I did post it on my fanfic.net account. There's where I found it needed a bit of tweaking. I'm glad someone told me, though. I'm not taking it personal. I mean, it has been a while since I wrote anything. There are going to be flaws. I might not catch all of them, so I'll need another set of eyes to do so. However, I don't have anyone here to help me, so I kind of have to wing it. *shrugs* I'm sure if I do more, I'll gradually get better at it.

Today I have to scrub the bathrooms. Ugh. Needless to say, it's my least favorite chore. But, the sooner I get it over with, the happier I'll be. Well, I'm gonna make like a banana and split. *groan* I know, bad pun...

Laundry Day! I also have to wash some sheets for our guests. No biggie. Mom has to go to my aunt's early tomorrow because she's having a yard sale and we have a bunch of stuff to put in it. I found some videos that I had gotten also on DVD, so I'm getting rid of some of those. OK, AS changed the schedule (again). IY is now going to start new episodes on Sat. April 24th at 11PM. I hope they stick with it this time. I get so annoyed when they change the schedule around all the time. As to the cleaning the carpet in the dining room, mom says we'll probably only do the entrance and the hallway. The "heavy traffic" areas. *whew* I'm glad. I wasn't looking foreward to having to move that table!

Well, we got the tree down (finally). But boy, was it a lot of work. For one thing, we had it up so long that I forgot how to take it apart. At least it has the lights attached and we didn't have to mess with those. Anyway... Now comes the really unpleasant part...super cleaning!!!! I mean, we're not living in a pig sty by any means. Our house is just "lived in." We're going to borrow a rug shampooer from a friend and deep clean the floors in the living room and dining room. I mean we mostly just vacuum regularly, but this is the intense cleaning. Besides, when you have three cats, the floors tend to get really dirty really fast. Between cat hair and hair balls...ewww. Also I have to super clean my bathroom for "company." Usually it's just me that uses it and it's my grime which I can live with, because it's mine. Since we're going to have guests, I have to scrub the tub and the sink really good, and Wet Swiffer the floor. I generally do a deep cleaning at least twice a month, so it's not that bad. Whew, I'm gonna be tired by the time this week is over. Not only do I have to do the Super Cleaning, but I also have my volunteering this week. *dies*

This weekend, I watched Ghost and The Wedding Singer on TV. (OK, I only saw the end of Ghost...) I just love TWS because not only is it a sweet story, but I grew up during the 80's and I can relate to a bunch of the references used. I think it's the only Adam Sandler movie I can stand to watch, really. The ending of "Ghost" just kills me. I tear up nearly every time. *sniff*

Mom's coming home early today and she said we might actually get the Christmas Tree down. *looks at calender* Yes, that's right. It's mid-March and we're just now getting the tree down. One year, we left it up until April. The main reason we're taking it down now is that Monday night we have some girls staying with us and we could use the room. A singing troupe from a church in Kentucky is coming to perform for our church and they need places for some of them to stay. We can put up four girls. Two on the futon and two on the Aerobed. It'll be interesting to say the least. Especially since we're not used to having company. Also, we have a funeral to go to on Saturday. Today is also my cleaning day at church. Whoo! I'll be so tired I won't know what to do with myself.
